"Eyes closed against the spray, it wasn’t hard to imagine yourself on a stage. Not just any stage, mind you, no, you were in the Breaker Box, facing a crowd of your friends and lovers, relishing the spotlight that set your skin alight in an intoxicating mix of jitters and audacity. There was something to be expressed, to be said, and you were going to be heard. You would keep their attention, and they would thank you for it.
Off to the side, silver bright eyes would regard you with a speechless awe, an unfamiliar look on a usually suave and steadfast face. At the same time, a set of rough, busy hands would rest on the bartop, any pretence of productivity abandoned as your beloved bartender would watch you, enamoured."
