But that's my job!

Summary:

Terra asks Iori to go out together after a while of not doing anything much lately. The walk ends up being especially fun, the picnic not as fun for Iori, who seems to protest how things have went.

Just let Terra dote on you, okay?!?

Notes:

Even though my profile is Rikai based, I must admit i like iori and terra more... especially their relationship. I mean, someone who loves themself with someone who's crazy about everyone but themself has got to be like, the pair ever. Pure chemistry there, so I'm glad to have made this.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Today was going to be a slow day, Terra could feel it in his bones, and with the knowledge of any of his plans for today too.

So it was, being the manager of his fashion company, that it had made it so a lot of his business could easily be done at home instead. Apart from the big stuff like meetings or whatever. But honestly those never happened that much for him to get annoyed at.

Anyways, it was a slow day. But of course that never mean there was nothing to ever be doing. Terra doesn't think he lived a day on earth where he had nothing to be doing, the divine and beautiful Terra was high maintenance, after all.

He could always be doing something like shopping for herself, browsing new media and even taking walks outside in the park to let others graciously meet his presence. Or if he didn't feel like being outside that day, he could focus on maintaining his hair, or having his own spa day and taking up hours in the singular bathroom for the household of 7 men (to which he always ignored complaints from, who were they to kick THE Terra out?)

Though lately, he's been finding another, much better way, to occupate his own time. All to do with someone else living just a couple metres away from him.

It had been quite a good few months since he has lived with the rest of her fellow roommates by now, and more than aware of their.. perks and unusual personalities. Specifically, this also meant she had been able to spend a lot of quality Terra time with Iori! At this point it was impossible for them to be anything else but besties.

Frankly, upon first meetings he had thought Iori had been a major weirdo, and still sortof believed that to be true now, but that had quickly changed when he saw Iori at his core.

Not an actual pervert like you would see many online, but a true, pure slave to his heart. Terra could admire that dedication! After all, he knew how it felt to want to lay your entire life for just one thing and ignore what everyone else were saying. He could say that they were both similar that way.

Though that's not to say their differences didn't also bring them together.

He walked along the hallway, and into the living room hoping to find a trace of who he was looking for. He could never have strayed that far.

"Iori-kun~?"

Hurried footsteps followed from not that far away. Ah, he'd been in the kitchen.

"Yes?"

"We're going outside, 'kay? So make sure your ready in about ten minutes."

"Sounds fun~  Is there anything you need that I can prepare? Or do you want me to help you get ready?"

"Nope, Terra-kun is perfect as is. Just focus on yourself til then." Well, he's always perfect of course. But he really is okay to set off without any delay.

"Are you sure? I can always-"

"Just make sure your presentable enough to go outside, Iori-kun" he interrupts.

Iori easily relents, "As you wish~"

-

They both set off outside, and had planned to walk the entire trip as it was a nice day outside. A rare occasion recently, but a nice miracle considering it being in the middle of autumn. Ah~ maybe God had decided to bless Terra a little more than usual today, which was certainly already a lot.

He was leading Iori on with his black collar he seemed to eternally wear through a long, gold chain. At first, when Iori asked if he wanted to hold it, he had been put off. But the little pout on his face everytime he asked and the look of small desperation had made him reconsider his decision, not that anyone other than Terra could influence his own opinions, obviously.

It had still felt awkward the first couple minutes of trying it out, with him leading on a whole human being not an actual dog, however he had grown to like the subtle power he held over Iori. He could take him anywhere, make him do anything, and it put his sole attention constantly on Terra alone. Of course, he would never actually do anything, but it was exhilirating knowing how much Iori would probably give up for him.

It was still pretty early in the morning so the streets were significantly more empty than usual- and it was a weekday too. There was also that crisp cold air that no man could ever recreate, the type that left you satisfyingly chilled without much wind. The most perfect conditions Terra could ask for as of this moment.

It felt like it was reserved just for them.

Speaking of this moment, they had almost arrived at their destination; a fairly sized park surrounded by beautiful greenery. He had learned it had been one of Iori's favourite spots to visit, though it took a hell of a lot out of him to get that information out of him.

He looked behind him, where Iori was matching his pace a couple feet behind him, looking the most content any man could be; his eyes curved upwards from the force of his smile - that no one other than Terra could take off - and his cheeks flushed a warm pink.

It was cute, insanely cute.

Not cuter than him, but Iori was certainly doing things to his heart right now. Though, nothing that he was not used to already.

From where he was previously admiring the landscape, Iori noticed Terra gazing at him and perked up with a curious expression. Now making dorect eye contact.

"Hm?"

"Wow~ I'm surprised your eyes are stuck on that park right now when you have a beautiful goddess standing right beside you, y'know? For shame, Iori-kun!" Truthfully he wasn't all that mad, but like, he was quite literally the one leading him, what could he have his eyes so set on other than him?

"You're so right Terra-san! How dare I disrespect my own duties.. a good for nothing empty person like me not paying attention to my own master is unforgivable..my only desire should be to serv-"

"Oi, that's enoug-"

"You have to punish me!" he says in an outburst, suddenly grabbing onto Terra's arm by his right. He's panting quite a bit now, as if distressed.

"I'll be so, so good for you, I won't even make a sound, unless you want me to. And..and..."

"Absolutely not." Is what grits out, as he grabs onto the hand on him. He doesn't mind this whole play Iori does with him, more than doesn't mind actually, but sadism is just like, so not his thing.

Even if Iori really does insist he won't mind, he's not convinced he'll ever warm up to it. He's pretty sure the fact that Iori can get a bit too into it is what drives him away in the first place... His determination can sure be scary sometimes, though, he supposes that it also serves him well.

"Ehh..alright.." Iori pouts, his face scrunching up as he reluctantly lets go. And he starts to already feel a bit guilty from how disheartened he looks, but he also really isn't trying to do anything weird while outside.

Iori shifts the bags so it stays more upright on his shoulder. Huh, he must've had them the entire time. Though, since he held them on the side opposite to Terra, he didn't really notice it even though it was a bit obvious. He wonders what he has in it, since Terra already brought his own bag outside.

"Hm? Whatcha got there, Iori-kun?"

"Ah, this? Just some snacks and stuff I made earlier packed in here. You didn't tell me where we were going so I thought it might come in handy."

"I thought I told you that wasn't necessary.." he sighs, fondly with a smile on his face. Man, he's way too thoughtful sometimes.

"Hehe~...but where are we really going?"

"The park? I thought it was obvious." A puzzled look appeared on his face; they were heading right towards it. There wasn't really any other option.

"Just making sure~" he says, sweetly smiling and eyes closed. He's not sure if he wants to figure out what Iori had in mind, so he'll keep the questions to himself for now.

"If you say so."

And so they set off further inside, leash in hand.

-

They walk around a bit together, the fresh nature leaving a lot to take in. The park mainly consisted of trees and bushes sporadically planted around the pathways, nothing extravagant, but beauty could be simplicit too. A medium-ish sized lake also took up a portion of the park, with it being the main spectacle. It certainly held a nice view, and shimmered under the bright sunlight.

Right now, Terra had an objective in his mind - which was to find a place to sit down on the ground without it being too wet or without their view being obscured. Just a nice, open space. Which should've been easy, but Terra was a picky person and would only settle for the best.

He says this, but since it was pretty empty of people, it didn't take long to find a good spot.

"Iori-kun, STOP!" he shouted, loudly but without dire urgency. He suddenly halted his footsteps, Iori jolted and looked back.

"H-huh?"

"This place is perfect, we'll sit right here." While saying this, he unzips the bag at his side and pulls at a thick, fabric rectangle. Nicely enough, he unbuckles it and it folds out into a spacious blanket big enough for the two of them to sit on. It had an ordinary design, with white and yellow strips corssing over eachother horizontally and bertically. As soon as Terra found it, he knew it immediately matched his vibe.

"Oooh~ Are we having a picnic?" his eyes sparkled along with his smile, his cheeks a sweet pink. He was happy his food could be put to use!

"Yup, take your shoes off."

"As you wish~" he lilts, obliging so while Terra does the same.

Initially, he hadn't planned for this to happen, rather he thought they could just sit and chat about whatever, any amount of quality time was fun if it involved Terra. But having a picnic was like, atleast ten times more fun, so he quickly abandoned his own idea at Iori's mention of bringing food he had made.

Terra positioned to sit down, just as he was doing so Iori reached his hands over and flattened out the area on the blanket, leaving space for Terra to sit on more comfortably. It was Iori-typical behaviour and he should've expected it, but the gesture still charmed him. But like, wouldn't that just be something anyone would do for Terra? It would be natural behaviour for them to do anything that would please him, he just had that effect on people, obviously! Wow, he's too much sometimes really! He should keep himself in check more, for the sake of others.

Terra also placed Iori's leash down beside him in arms reach, just in case anything happened. He didn't think he'd need it right now anyways. Probably. Iori pouted at the sight, but hadn't spoken a word more.

"Don't make that face, I've been holding it the entire way here, and I'll have plenty more opportunity to walk you later too." He said, giving a small pat to Iori's cheek. His cheeks were quite full, despite his age, and he always enjoyed pinching them whenever he needed chewing out.

Iori visibly perked up at this, pout disappearing,

"'Kay~" ,and he let the matter be.

Honestly, Terra genuinely had no idea what was so fun about being chained up and dragged around, but like if Iori was gonna let him do it, why not? He does have some speculations, like maybe it was part of the whole slave thing, or something along the lines of him being a hollow person who doesn't deserve his own free will and lives to serve and be used as a puppet....

Or just because he enjoys it, and with the way Iori is so enthusiastic about it (and because it sounds like the least worst option) Terra's going to go for this as his default, for now.

While he was thinking, Iori had been pulling out some absurdly large containers from his bag, almost stuffed to the brim with a variety of snacks and pastries.

"How long did you think we were gonna be here for...?" Terra asks, concerned.

"Oh, I didn't know, but it never hurts to bring too much!"

"Does it not hurt your back?"

"An empty piece of tupperware like me doesn't have to-"

"Ah!" Terra exclaims, pushing a finger to Iori's mouth, effectively shushing him. "Bad boy, we don't talk like that here."

He lifted his finger off.

"But it's tru-"

The finger quickly returned, "No! I won't allow it, it's an order, and it's totally bringing the mood down! We're just gonna eat now and forget about all that stuff. Okay~?"

Iori nodded, then looked to the side in reverance, mouth still shut with a small whine let out in response.

He got over it quickly though and cozied up next to Terra, legs splayed out in front of him and thighs brushing his comfortably. Terra shuffled himself a tiny bit closer in recipuracation. This angle would've looked suuper super cute in a picture, he mentally noted to himself to get his phone out later. Iori was such a genius for this! It only made Terra love him more.

"Hmm, what do you want to eat first, Terra-san?" Iori asks, shuffling through what there was.

"What do you have?"

"Well~ I made some pancakes this morning so I brought them.. muffins...a ton of sandwhiches...oh, and those Jigariko stuff, crisps...quiches...sushi..., bento boxes...and, uh..." he looks at the rest of the boxes, definitely packed with more types of food inside. "Just tell me if you want something else! I'll make it right away."

"Yeeeah, no. I'll just take this." He takes a random box out of the plentiful selection graciously splayed out onto the blanket, then shoves the remainders onto one side to save space for themselves, and to not make it look like some weird ritualistic tupperware-centered party in the middle of the day. Turns out he grabbed the sushi box, filled with an assortment of two or three fillings each one that he knows Iori knows he absolutely adores. Talk about specialised. He wonders if the other food got the same treatment. Well, most likely, probably, near absolutely, because Iori's devoted like that and maybe a little insane(ly dedicated) in the head. He lowers his head to take a bite of the sushi, and realises that currently, right now, he feels like he's missing something.

Ah, of course! It's been so long since he's seen pretty, old Terra, he wonders how he's doing without the company of himself. Terra grabs his compact mirror from the pocket of his bag and clicks it open. His hand brushes the surface for any dust or dirt, and then he's greeted with the best sight imaginable.

"Terra~ I missed you so much!" He laments, patting himself on the face in multiple spots, tenderly gazing at himself - it's a precious view after all. It would be an insane waste to not try to capture every angle possible, he looks absolutely stunning no matter which way he's looking. He's surreal, it's almost too much! "You certainly look amazing, beautiful, stunning, gorgeous, perfect, heavenly, pretty and so so handsome! W-wait, is it possible that... no...." Terra gasps, as if realised something.

Iori, used to his happenings, pipes up and questions, "Hm? Did something happen?" His tone slightly concerned.

"You got ten times more perfect overnight?! Impossible! I never thought it'd happen.. Terra is shook out of his words..." Iori huffs out a laugh in response. "Ah.. you always continue to surprise me... that's another charm point of course, Terra never stays boring. You'd be able to look at him forever and always find another aspect to get caught in... How are you real? It's unbelievable to even think of how you're the same species as everyone else on earth..mm... The outfit you chose today looks magnificent on you today, you have such good taste I'm almost jealous.. Is it possible to be jealous of myself..? Of course it is, Terra breaks any logical bounds of reality! The fit's soo matching the vibe of today, in an ultra picnic-y way. Wow~, you have good instincts.. that's another charm point! Terra always wears what's right for the occasion, he'll never look out of place! A true survival advantage. Ah, and your hairstyle today, gosh, don't even get me started-"

And then he keeps going, atleast for another minute or so until his nose starts bleeding a dark ruby colour. It seems to spur Terra's ramblings on even further, another topic to gush about. "Aaah your lifeforce coming to show looks so pretty-"But at this point Iori knows that if he keeps going on, he'll lose enough blood to make it potentially dangerous for himself. He'll let him talk to himself all he wants, but he's absolutely not ending this with his boyfriend passed out in a puddle of blood. Not that he'd mind looking after him, but then Terra would've gotten nothing out of this amazing picnic he prepared and that just leads to a pointless trip back home. Plus, he'd have to carry all that luggage he brought along with Terra. The idea sounds enticing to him until he remembers it's physically not possible for him to carry all of that. So, it's an absolute no!

"A-ah you're bleeding, Terra-kun, let me-" he quickly pulls out a tissue from his pockrt and hands it over. "Here, c'moon we came here to eat didn't we?"

"Huh?" As if the metaphorical bubble has just popped, Terra looks at him like he's just noticed be was there. "Oh, thanks~" he grabs the tissue and wipes at his face, eyes still held onto the mirror.

"What were you saying again?"

"That the picnic's not started yet until you start eating, silly!" He says playfully, and bats away at the mirror. "Say goodbye to Terra and let's start it already~ I don't think it'll look as nice here when it's sundown, y'know!"

"You're right...ugh, it pains me so hard," he directs his voice back to the mirror "but I'm gonna have to go and leave you, abandoned! The world needs me right now, such a cruel place it is, but Terra is all kind and generous and knows when he should do his duties. He is a responsible man, after all." Terra feels Iori's expectant gaze weighing on him slightly, usually he'd be able to easily ignore a stare (he gets it, who wouldn't want to look?) but this time he knows it's one with a lingering gleam for him to just hurry up with it already. Iori, the kind soul, would never say it outloud, but he's gotten good on his reads on Iori recently from how much time he's speant with him. Not as much as an open book, but enough to pick out sudden emotions like the one right now. Well, speaking of now.

"....Goodbye!" He finalises, closing his mirror shut while clenching his eyes shut in pain, as if he was about to get a flu shot or some sort. Iori thinks it would be funny to imagine that Terra would've never needed any vaccines because no pathogen would ever dare try and corrupt his body, or that they'd immediately get burnt to a crisp by the light of Terra's soul and perfection. He considers asking Terra if he's ever had one, but he'd probably get a very typical variation of Yes, I have Iori. What kindof random question is that? and while Terra may certainly be... a character, he's not stupid. Or atleast Iori thinks he'd give a normal answer, it becomes a gamble when trying to predict whatever goes on in that mind. Not that he minds! It'd be immensely boring being with a predictable person all the time.

It's about time now that Terra notices the tupperware boxes, still full and untouched, that he had placed in front of himself previously. With no time to waste, he grabs the pair of chopsticks wordlessly handed by Iori and takes a bite at a piece from the top right. A random habit to have, but endearing none the less. Iori is probably the weirder one for even noticing it.

"Mmmmmnh..!" He moans at the taste, quite sensually, with his eyes closed in pleasure.

"Is it good~?" Iori asks, eyes slit and preening. If he were to have a tail, it wouldn't be unusual to see it swishing side to side at this moment.

"Don't even bother asking- It's so good?! You've honestly killed me Iori, mmm- Oh my Gooood what did you put in this, some secret recipe? I swear it wasn't this good the last time I had your stuff!?" He rattles out, knowing full well he had pretty much the exact same reaction that last time,

"Come heeere, already-" To Iori's great delight, Terra wraps his arms firmly around him, as if he was fit to sprint off any moment, and peppers his face in multiple kisses around his face. It had been done so quickly almost to a point of overwhelming him, but he liked it all the more so. Terra had aimed for reaching every inch of his face, leaving no corner untouched by his affection. And when Iori's cheeks lit up from the onslaught of praise and love, it only served to make him kiss his cheeks more. A fierce reaction he could not hold back, Terra certainly knew how to hit every weak point of his. Iori would've attempted to atleast hug him back, or somewhat reciprocate the sentiment, but Terra left no room to budge at all! It seems his charisma always came in full force, never letting Iori take his turn evem in moments like this. Though, it wasn't a problem, not at all.

Eventually, the attack ended (sadly) with a kiss finally landing itself on Iori's lips, chaste and sweet and with an exclaimed "Mmmmmmwah!" in the midst of it. It was safe to say that Iori had melted into a puddle, heat muddly pooling in his face and a familiar warm feeling intertwining itself throughout his gut.

"Ehehe~" he laughs, dazedly.

The moment continued in serenity, with Terra positively stuffing his face and savouring as much as he could for as long as his mouth was still full. To Iori, it was the biggest praise to him to see someone enjoy the work of his effort. Not that it was the reason that he ever devoted himself to the members of the house, no he would do it anyways even if they kicked and beat him around, but at tines like these it almost felt like the hole in his heart was filled with something whole for once. Maybe temporary, but enough to make him forget who he is at his core.

It was for this reason, as well, that Iori hadn't eaten a single thing displayed on the blanket, or at all really since they set off from the house. A slave like him didn't need as much fuel as the normal person, after all, if they were barely even human themse-

"Io-kun? How come you're not eating?"

"I made all of this for you, though? Someone as low as me shouldn't be eating the same stuff you are, that's selfish!" Iori says, he knew he'd be asked this at some point.

"Haahh? What kind of reasoning is that? There's no way I'd be able to eat all this by myself! Besides, if we're gonna be out for a while, you'll need to eat or else you'd get tired too quickly."

"But I really would be fine-" he interjects, a bit nervous that he seems to be losing the argument.

"And where are you gonna get all that energy to handle Terra? You think it'll be easy? That you'd get away with a sloppy job? No! I brought you out with me, so you better take responsibility and have as much fun as I do, or else I'll be very mad!" Terra counteracts, his firm tone not leaving room for much doubt.

Iori is still not convinced that it would be the best thing to do, he fidgets with the ring of his collar and flicks his eyes down to his lap, and to the side.

"So are you gonna start eating now?" Terra asks, putting one of his hands in his lap and looking directly in his eyes. It's obvious, the answer that Iori should take, but it still leaves a bad taste in his mind considering he can feel himself leaning towards Terra's well and sound argument. Either way, he doesn't think he has much of an option whether he likes it or not at this moment of time, so..

"U-uhm, yeah..." he stares blankly at the offensive items in front of him, nudged a little by Terra in encouragement. It turns into a minute, then a minute and thirty seconds because Terra really does not have that much patience and he only waited that long because he thought he saw a glimpse of his reflection in the distance elsewhere.

"Alright! If you don't want to so bad, I guess I'm just gonna have to make ya!" He humphs out.

"E-eh?? What are you going to do..?" Iori asks, perplexed and a bit scared. Perhaps he shouldn't have tested Terra's patience that much, who did he think he was to be doing that?? To be making his master wait for him to obey his orders was utterly disrespectful, since when did he even listen to what he wanted, even? He's distraught at-

Terra opens the box 'meant' for him -it turns out to be mochi, strawberry flavoured- and picks up one with his chopsticks. He doesn't blunder or drop the mochi like Iori half-expected him to, and he feels satisfied for a moment at the thought that he had made them at the perfect consistency that it wouldn't fall apart or be too thick. Woo, go him! And he'd only made it like once, or twice before? For a moment, he assumes that Terra's going to go ahead and eat the piece he had just picked up (which he had hoped, it really was for him) but he's proved wrong when he just holds it in the air, a way too happy expression on Terra's face.

"Say 'Aaaah' Ioriiii~"

"..." Iori stares, suddenly really nervous at the thought of being under Terra's care, and just at the prospect of having something being done for him at all. A little bit mad too, but it's a small, easily ignorable feeling. Shouldn't this situation be the other way around..? He's almost infuriated with himself for not having come up with this himself first, seriously! Terra's a little too smart for his own good, sometimes.

"Come ooon, do it for me? You should be glad to be spoon-fed by the Terra of all people. There's tons who'd probably die to be in your position right now!" Terra starts, a teasing smile on his face.

Iori stares, unimpressed.

"And it'd make Terra feel ultra more happy to do this one special thing, y'know? Or more than once, i'm making you finish this entire box. But like, shouldn't making Terra happy be your entire life goal? I almost wish I was in your shoes right now! Lucky you~"

At this, Iori considers it a bit more. Indeed, he wants to do everything to make his boyfriend and love of his life as happy as possible, but if everything included this too...

Well, he'd have to accept it.

He ducks his head down in embarassment, lips pursed and eyebrows furrowed, then lifts his head back up remembering he won't be able to get this done looking at his lap. If only, could he stay like that forever and just completely ignore the question, leaving them to enjoy the scenery, and Terra with his own food. But alas, he thinks he may have ran out of chances by now. So, with newfound determination, he opens his mouth.

"A-aaah..." he faces Terra, albeit with not much confidence but still clearly facing him. He opens his mouth around halfway and pins his eyes on Terra's expression.

Terra gasps, "Yayy~ Good boy, good boyy~" he praises, evidently pleased with this newfound outcome. He places the mochi inside of Iori's mouth and already reaches for his next batch. It's nice, not overly sweet and the texture doesn't feel too awful in his mouth either, giving way easily under the slightest pressure and melting under a second of chewing. Iori wouldn't admit that though, because that would mean he'd also like all the sweet attention and care and loving gaze and delightful words and cute sounds that Terra brought along with it..... Which he absolutely, positively, hundred percent-ly does not need!

Alarmingly, Terra brings another mochi perched in front of Iori's lips, waiting.

"It's good, I know right? C'mon, have another one." He says, then feeds him the second mochi. Though they are relatively easy to chew, they still take a while to swallow properly considering he made each bite quite big. It doesn't matter though, as he still has room. He may be hitting his limit though. Again, he flushes, and opens his mouth and takes a bite, almost taking the chopstick with it.

Terra's eyes water up in what looks like happiness and an overly adored looks sets on him.

"Gguh... you're too cute. You better not let anyone else ever see this, or else I'd murder them. I meannn~ your cheeks make you look 10x more adorable, what the hell?" He pinches Iori's puffed out cheeks. It was on purpose then? "Looking this good for Terra? Are you? Was this your plan all along? Well it's certainly working, uuughgh~" he pouts, squeezing Iori's face a bit more now (lightly) and shaking his face around in his hands from side to side. He has to close his eyes from the force of it, and to focus on actually chewing.

Terra lets go and sighs, Iori slightly possibly misses his soft hands on his face, but the sentiment is appreciated as he can focus on actually feeding himself, now that Terra has ever so kindly given him a headstart. He notices Terra picks up another box, and also starts from there, even though he hasn't finished his previous one. It's no matter, someone else in the house can always have it.

Through the next couple bites, Iori gets an idea. A simple one, but one nonetheless. So, he continues eating until there are two little mochis left in his own box and shovels up one with his chopsticks.

He taps Terra on the shoulder to get his attwntion again, who is met with a pair of chopsticks with mochi held betwen them lifted towards his mouth.

"Ooh~" he smiles, and takes up the offer, leaning just a bit closer to Iori.

"Good, isn't it?" Iori replies this time. Terra nods enthusiastically, and seems to speed-chew in preparation to say something.

"Super"

He grabs Iori's chin with his fingertips, and kisses him.

Notes:

Exams r literally tmrw pls kill me kill me kill me.

Can you tell i'm inserting a bit of my love of iori through Terra while trying to keep him in character. I hope it's worked. I just love them both man.

computa make these guys married and in love forever thank u

Iori (looking wistfully at a man throwing a ball back and forth with some dog): ....

Terra (mentally noting everything down) : hm
