Ever since the first day Harmonique joined the army to avoid execution or prison, she had eyes for the R.S.S leader. She noticed a lot more things than others when it came to Crescendine. It was hard for her to not stare.
She had conversed with her friend, Paralelle about confessing to her about her feelings. Paralelle was her wing woman, she'd always spread a good word or two to Crescendine about Harmonique.
She decided that today would be the day.
"Para.. I dont know how Im gonna do this." "You'll be fine, just look your best and do the rest." "..I dont know what the rest is."
"Well.."
"You don't know this either."
"Just tell her how you feel, and be nice about it, simple as that!" "Yes but how do I tell her"
"Ahem.." She puts on a mocking voice "Crescendine.. I want to talk to you.. I love you! Do you love me?"
"Paralelle!" "Okay I know I know.. But seriously, how hard can it be?" "You wouldn't get it.. It's way scarier than it seems."
Paralelle puts both of her hands on Harmonique's shoulders and holds eye contact. "You'll. Be. Fine. I swear nothing bad is going to happen, like literally what is the worst thing that could happen?"
"She gets uncomfortable and tells Emperor Ruelle about the situation and she either has to rip out my sigil or kill me to leave the military."
"Oh." She withdraws her arms "Well Crescendine wouldn't even do something like that"
"You never know," "Well you should, you should know stuff about her since you watch her," "You're making it sound bad!" "I'm making it sound as it is! Okay listen to me, just brush your hair or something and you'll be good to go. Just head into her office and chat, then tell me the results!"
"Fine.."
"Good! Ill be out here, I'll be pretending i know nothing of the sort." Harmonique approaches Crescendine's office door.
Crescendine was sitting in her office " Crescendine.?"
"Yes Harmonique."
"I just wanted to speak to you about something. "
"Go on then. What is this about?" Crescendine was a fairly monotone person. She was very responsible and serious about the R.S.S. She wanted to keep her members safe. Harmonique sat beside her.
"Is something troubling you Harmona?" "(Was that a nickname or has she forgotten my name..)" "No, no its not like that, I'm okay. I need to say something to you—but I don't know if you'll like it."
"I'm sure I can take it." Harmonique finds her face getting hotter and her breathing becoming unbalanced.
"You seem in distress. We can continue later."
"Oh no its okay, just here to say something..
"..."
"..."
"I'm in love with you, Crescendine."
Silence in her office.
Crescendine goes still "..Come again?" "I'm in love..with you, Crescendine.." She repeats herself with less confidence "You're not joking, are you? Did someone ask you to do this? Paralelle?" "N—no crescendine, I'm serious. It's been eating me alive since I..joined.. the army. Ever since the first day I just couldn't take my eyes off of you."

"And.. I want to know what you think. Because if you want me to stop, I will."
".."
"I think.. Harmonique, you're really cool and I think that you're sweet. But.." "..but?" "But I just..cant. I cant seem to fall in love, at all. It's not personal or anything like that, I just cant explain it.." Ouch

".. i really like you I just dont really, get crushes.. Dont let this ruin anything, because i still see you as a very hardworking and sweet girl." "That's okay, you can't control how you feel about others." "Thank you for understanding, I hope I could explain it properly." Crescendine gives Harmonique a sad smile. It's probably the biggest she will ever see her smile.
Shes so pretty..
"So.. should I stop?." Stop what?" "Liking you.. in this way." "Like you said, you cant control how you feel about others." "..Thank you for listening.. I'll see you later." "See you,"
Harmonique walks out of the office to find Paralelle, her hand in her face.
"Howd it go, lover girl? Woah.. you look like you need a drink." She sits with her friend "Shes asexual, Para." "Tough luck.. that's gotta suck." "Yeah, does."
"Wait howd you even figure that out?" "That shes ace?" "Yeah,
"She told me—well I think..." "If you really think about she had a lot of trust in you to have told you that personal detail about herself.. You've got a chance!"
Harmonique sighs and smiles, grateful paralelle attempted to brighten the mood.
"I appreciate the effort I suppose."
"Hope this doesnt make meetings awkward, gosh Harmonique you just HAD to go for our leader."
"Thanks Paralelle."
