   Even if all I want is a normal, subtle life, I can’t help but worry a bit. News reports have come up more often in the past few months about a serial killer on the loose. The guy hasn’t been caught yet, even if his crimes have been somewhat sloppy.
   The cops have had a hard time pinpointing him as a serial killer in the first few months of murders, because the killer has been too sporadic and unpredictable.

   I mean, I get it. When I read the missing person reports, I wouldn’t have been able to put two and two together either; none of the victims has anything specific in common. No similar age range, looks, personality, name, not anything whatsoever.
   Other than that, they’ve all gone missing in the same manner. One moment there, then the next not, like dust in the wind.
   It’s like the killer just attacks at random and in the moment.
