Hello everyone! Thank you for clicking on my silly fic! This first chapter is gonna be where I put all the basic information about the story & structure! (this is important)
I’ve decided to break the story up into different arcs, the way Unstable SMP is structured. I had a ton of different plot ideas I couldn’t settle on, so I decided this just made the most sense. Each arc will focus on a few characters / relationships, tell a different story, and be around 5–10 chapters long. Of course, our narrator will remain as Parrot through the entire fic.
Here, I’m going to put the different arcs and a brief summary of what they’re about without spoiling too much!
The Introduction arc:
Welcome to Unstable High!
(this arc will be very quick, most likely only 2–3 chapters, just designed to help familiarize the school and concepts)
The War Arc:
The theatre and sports department have gone to war! It falls on Parrot to mediate the conflict before someone does something they can’t take back.
The Mystery Arc:
Strange things have been happening around Unstable High, and it’s up to Parrot to solve the mystery.
The Valentine’s Arc:
Valentine's day is around the corner, and Parrot is roped into becoming a world-class wingman.
The Director Arc:
The musical needs a stage manager, and Wifies has stepped up to take the responsibility. Will he be able to control the production, or will he crack under the pressure?
The Bullying Arc:
A few of Parrot’s friends have fallen victim to a certain demonic bully. Parrot takes it upon himself to put a stop to the torment, but he soon realizes that there’s more to Wemmbu than meets the eye.
The Void Arc:
Spoke has been getting increasingly reckless, and it’s up to Parrot and his friends to teach the voidling what friendship really means before he does something unforgivable.
The Candle Arc:
Flame is sometimes compared to a candle—bright, warm, and energetic. But what happens when that candle burns out?
The Slime Arc:
Boosfer has developed a consistent pattern of purposefully getting on Parrot’s nerves, though he’s quick to realize that it might not be out of his own vanity.
The Half & Half Arc:
After the spread of rumors and tall tales, people’s opinions of demons have split down the middle. But how are some of Parrot’s friends meant to choose when they belong to both sides?
The Campaign Arc:
Parrot expects to win the election for next year’s council by a landslide, but the quick popularization of a new opponent proves it won’t be as easy as he thought.
The Summer Arc:
Parrot and his friends are counting down the days until summer. Their futures look bright, full of sun and late nights spent shouting along to music. But strangely enough, Wifies doesn’t seem excited.
This fic is heavily character-focused and will include both comedic and more serious arcs/themes as the story progresses. While each arc has its own central conflict and featured characters, all arcs are connected and build off one another over time.
There will also be original worldbuilding regarding different species, abilities, and cultures within the AU, all of which will be explained gradually throughout the story & in the next chapter!
