Cass loved being a dance instructor, especially for kids. It was something that gave her joy and the same feeling of fulfillment that she got from being a vigilante.
She also loved her students. And while she didn't want to pick favorites, well... It was difficult not to feel some kinship with the little mute girl who started attending the classes just over a year ago.
Speaking of the girl, her dad just texted.
"hey cass, cant make it on time to pick meg up today, had an emergency. my bf will come to get her but might be a bit late since its so sudden, is that ok? she knows him, dw"
Cass couldn't help but feel curious. While other kids' parents would often have someone else drop their kids off or pick them up, Danny always drove Meggie to the class and back himself. Being a single dad couldn't be easy, especially so young, so Cass was relieved to know there was at least one person Danny could rely on. Still, she wondered what kind of guy this 'boyfriend' was.
A couple minutes later, Cass and Meggie sat alone on the studio's floor, chatting silently in ASL, when the door opened. Meggie was already on her feet when Cass saw the newcomer's face. Standing there, in the door of her dance studio, was Jason Todd. Jason Todd, who seconds later had his arms full of an eight-year-old. His eyes then landed on Cass, widening in surprise. She grinned in a very distinct way of a chaos-craving sibling.
"So," she said aloud, "you Danny's boyfriend?"
Jason's face turned red and he groaned, knowing well that he won't escape teasing.
