Chapter Text
A boy lay under a leafless tree, his purple and black hair contrasting with the white snow under him. Purple and silver drapes of delicate silk covered his body.
“My goodness! Are you okay?” A voice softly spoke, “it’s really cold out here, would…uhh…do you want my coat?”
The boy looked behind, an eye peaking from his luscious hair. He saw a boy, a bit taller than him, engulfed in white clothing and a huge fur coat. The boy had short white hair and huge yellow eyes.
Taking the black haired boy’s silence as an answer, he placed the fluffy coat on him. As gentle as he could be, as if the boy was porcelain. The boy slowly got up from his shelter under the tree..
“Are you alright? It’s so cold, do you have a frost bite?” The boy chatted his ear off in a matter of seconds.
The black haired boy held up his finger and pressed it against the yellow eyed boy's mouth.
“I understand!”
The two boys held the short silence till the talkative boy spoke again.
“I’m sorry but…do you know the way to the capital? I’m not from here,” the boy pointed to his elegant, gold adorned, horns, “or rather it's been quite a while since I was, I’m a little lost…”
The pretty boy took his hand
“Follow me.” He said, his voice hoarse.
As the two boys approached the capital, cruel mummers surrounded them.
‘How dare he show his ugly face here?’
‘He belongs in hell!’
‘Why are we in his presence?’
Are they talking about me? Goodness, angels are ever so mean!
‘Ugh, it’s that freak again.’
“We’re here.” The boy spoke softly, to the black haired boy who stared at him in concern.
“Are you…okay?” The gold adorned boy said.
“Yes, as you can see, I lack injuries.”
“Thats not what I meant…” the boy looked disappointed by the answer, then his face lit up with an epiphany, “you know what, I’ll be quick. Just wait here for me, alright?”
The angel nodded, sitting on a bench. As time passed, he laid on the bench engulfed by the white fur coat that contrasted against his purple and gold drapes.
A shadow covered his face and he blinked at it.
“I said I’d be quick, right?” The boy, now back, grinned. “Let’s go?”
He offered his hand and the angel took it, warmth engulfed his hand. The white clad boy dragged him, smiling, through the capital till they were outside.
“You know, even though it snows here, in heaven,” his smile shone brightly, “I don’t really care! Though it is inconvenient for my wings.”
Cold, pale fingers brushed his back, where his wings were supposed to be, he jittered.
“Where?” The culprit asked softly.
“My wings? I prefer to hide them in cold weather, they get covered in snow and it's hard to clean it out.”
The purple eyed boy held the coat up.
“You’re giving my coat back? Aren't you cold?”
He shook his head softly
This guy is so nice to me
“But your hands are so cold!” He exclaimed while wearing the coat, “give me your hands.”
The devil took his hands, blowing at them softly.
“Is this better?”
I could use him…if I wanna go
He held the devils hands firmly, pulling them away from the warm air that came out of the devil’s mouth. “What is hell like?”
“W-woah, w-why do you…wanna know?” He exclaimed.
“Curious, never been there.”
“Ah…oh of course…sure…uhh…this position’s…is- is this okay?” He shuffled around till he was hugging the angel instead, wrapping his hands around the cold body.
The angel nodded.
“You know how there are dead trees in heaven? It's different in hell, we also have trees but they grow leaves and colourful flower meadows are all around.
“It’s also a lot warmer, just like how I am warm! The demons are real nice too, we all help each other out” He giggled as the angel spaced out
“So..I was wondering..why are people so mean to you here?” The devil seemed a bit sadder now and the boy turned his head away slightly, “oh it’s alright if you don’t want to tell me! I won't ask further–”
The angel moved his purple drape slightly, showing light purple scars along his arm, barely noticeable. They looped around like shackles.
“Is that..really why?” The boy asked in shock
“Would demons in hell also be mean to me?”
“No, they wouldn’t.” He said with a small smile, moving tucking a bit of hair behind the angel's face, “but please reconsider. Becoming a fallen angel is a really painful process, please trust me. Listen, what if I came by here more often? We could be friends! What do you say.”
The angel nodded, slightly disheartened.
“It’ll be okay,” the demon’s arms held him a bit firmer now. .
“Name?” the angel asked, a quiet plea.
“Hm?”
“Your name?”
“I’m Saparata! It completely slipped my mind! What's your name?” The demon, Saparata, chuckled.
“Fluixon.”
“Fluixon…what a beautiful name! I look forward to spending time together.” Saparata grinned.
“Me too,” Fluixon spoke softly.

“What are you doing Saps?” A voice boomed from behind.
“I’m just picking out some flowers for a…friend, Micro,” the demon responded with a gentle smile.
The grey haired boy tilted his head.
“A friend ya say?” He said in a teasing tone.
“Oh come on,” Saparata responded playfully.

A sleepy blob of purple, gold and black awaited Saparata, under the same tree.
“Good morning Fluixon!” The devil grinned, “rise and shine!” He crouched to come closer to the beautiful angle.
A hand reached out, pulling Saparata closer and soft lips touched his left cheek, right under his eye.
“Woah- what are you doing Fluixon? Do you do this to everyone? Y-you can’t you know!” The devil said, turning redder by the second.
“Just you.” Fluixon responded calmly to the blushing boy, “these are?”
“Oh! I brought you some flowers from hell! I wanted to show them to you.”
“Flowers? Do you eat them?” He brought a blue petal up to his lips.
“No, no, no!” Saparata took the petal away, “they are for viewing, they're pleasant to look at right?”
“Why?” He asked with a hint of curiosity penetrating his voice
“Humans give it to each other as gifts, for weddings, funerals, birthdays and special occasions!” The demon said cheerfully.
“No use to me.” The boy said monotonously.
“What do you mean?” The demon said, dejected.
“Not human.”
“Well, I still feel like we can enjoy flowers just as much. These cute little humans even gave them meanings!
“Like this one,” he pointed at the periwinkle, “symbolises purity and blossoming friendship.”
“And this one means gratitude,” the boy said, pointing at the desert blue bell.
The demon pointed at the blue rose.
“This one…means impossible love”
“Are you confessing?” The angel asked, a spark in his eyes. Not a glint of joy. Something…darker.
“What! Uh- um- no umm-” The devil sputtered, this voice growing small by the second. “I really just brought these to show you, I mean it would be absolutely crazy if I had feelings for you. I mean this is our second meeting and all and…hahaha…ha…”
“It’s okay if you love me.” The angel said, looking at the devil right in his bright yellow eyes. “Not in love then? With me?
“I mean you’re really pretty and cute and,” Saparata went on rambling again. “I like hanging out with you and I feel a connection but love is a strong word you know and I mean I don't even know if you like me…”
The boy’s rambling halted, “I…uhhh…do you like me?”
“I do.”
“Ah okay I figured, sorry for asking something that awkward forget i ever said anything-” Saparata halted, almost animatedly. “Wait, you said yes?”
The angel nodded, maintaining his nonchalance.
“Ah! Okay but uh I feel that maybe we should get to know each other better first?” The devil said, hesitantly.
“Then…come here more…with these flowers,” Fluixon held a blue rose. “I will wait.”
“I shall, my cherub.” Saparata smiled, radiant and generous.
Saparata came every day after that, reading with the angel, wandering around and doing what not fun. The devil made Fluixon flower crowns and flower rings, always bringing a blue rose with him. They’d sleep together under Saparata’s huge warm fur coat and waved to each other a heartfelt goodbye each time the day came to an end.
Little did they realise a peculiar brown haired angel was watching them, almost seemingly annoyed by the happiness Fluixon received day in and day out.

“Hey Saps!” A body crept behind Saparata.
“Ah! Jophiel, you scared me!” He said, leaning back in surprise. In his hands were a bunch of plucked flowers.
“Hahaha, sorry, didn’t mean to.” Jophiel said, unapologetically chuckling, “how are you doing?”
“I’ve been keeping well, remember the guy I told you about?” He spoke, a love struck expression on the pale skin of his face. “I’ve been hanging out tons with him and spending time with him really, really, makes me happy.”
“That damn- that guy in heaven?”
“...Yeah” Saparata said, a hint of nervousness in his gentle voice.
“So this…guy in heaven…are you…going out with him?” A hint of skepticism seeped in Jophiel’s voice, concern painted her soft features.
“We- um well I wouldn’t say that…we do like…spend time…not like that but uh…” he became redder, more nervous, by the second. “And I do get him flowers…maybe…so I kind of like him…uh..maybe..?”
“Are you stupid?” Jophiel retorted, hitting his head. Playful but strict.
“I know…the consequences but he’s so…pretty and I just don’t want to leave him alone…”
“You know angels. He’s probably manipulating ya.” Jophiel’s voice grew stern.
“I know,” Saparata said. Dragging the syllables, “but he's so cute!”
“You’re a lost cause, don’t say I didn’t warn you” Jophiel simply shook her head. “I’ll see you at your funeral.”
“You’re so mean!” The boy pouted, but sighed looking at his reflection in the water.
She’s right…I need to talk to him…

The angel waited patiently in the white snow, a small smile crept on his face as he saw a white figure approach.
“Saparata!”
Saparata hugged the angel, engulfing him in fur.
“My darling cherub!”
“I missed you,” Fluixon said with a gentle grin.
“I missed you too, cherub!” The demon said, his joyful face suddenly turned skeptic as he pulled back. “We need to talk, Fluixon.”
“Is something wrong?”
“I think we should try to move to a…secluded area.”
The angel’s face hardened, tone suddenly sharp.
“Why?”
“I mean..you know,” the devil hesitated, “we could be caught and…we don’t really want that to happen.”
“Is that not a good thing?” Fluixon continued, his voice sharp as glass shards.
“No, it’s bad! You could get punished, cherub.”
“If I get punished, I will become a fallen angel,” the angel’s smile suddenly looked near manipulative to Saparata. “Then we could be together, no problem!”
“There's no guarantee your punishment will simply end at becoming a fallen angel,” Saparata’s voice hardened, “we don’t know what they might do.
“All angels treat you so poorly already, they could figure out that becoming a fallen angel with me would just be good for you.”
“It’s worth a shot,” Fluixon retorted.
“No, Fluixon! You don’t understand what becoming a fallen angel really is!” Saparata shot him down, “I swear to you it is not worth it!”
“But this is my only chance!” Fluixon yelled back.
Saparata’s concern and frustration melted into shock. The breeze felt colder now, snow collecting on his white lashes. He felt as though time had frozen, no one speaking a word for a second.
So Jophiel and Micro were right…
His figure trembled lightly, shock turning into despair.
“I- I did not mean it…like that…” the wide eyed angel said, trying to fix things.
“No, I knew. It’s okay…” Saparata had an unrecognisable expression, while he held a small smile his eyes were full of sadness. His body shivered again, for a second. Almost as though it betrayed the way Saparata felt until he controlled himself. His eyes were averted, refusing to look at the angel any longer. “I just…didn't expect you to say it to my face…”
“You are so selfish”
“Selfish? Me?” That brought his gaze back to Fluixon, anger filled his face now.
“Yes. It’s easy for you to say! You’ve seen how they treat me here then you go back to your wonderful little paradise,” he said in an accusatory tone. “It must be nice. What was I meant to do?”
“I’m trying to protect you the best I can and I get called selfish?” Saparata scoffed.
“Protect me from what? A better life in hell?”
“Maybe it’s better we don’t see each other for a while, these were the flowers I brought you today, by the way.” the demon said, in a cold voice as he tossed blue roses. Tears filled the devil's eyes. “Have fun with them.”
He glanced back, wanting to see the face that betrayed him one last time. Instead he was met with the sight of a pathetic, lowly angel whimpering ‘don’t get cold’ to the blue flowers as he trembled.
Saparata turned around, letting his tears shed in defeat.
Unbeknownst to them a shadow listened, on their way to talk to the Holy Trinity.

The angel lay, climbed upon a tree and lay awkwardly on a branch. A part of the sheer cloth that covered his body was ripped off, tied to the branch his eyes watched over. A wilted, blue, flower stowed inside.
Again…he didn’t come today either.
Fluixon patted the snow, making a bump where he could sit.
My chest feels weird. Hard to breath, never happened before…am I sick? Maybe they are right about me…
The angel rested his back against the tree and leaned back, trying to sleep. Wishing that would get his mind off the white clad devil.
“Good day, Fluixon!” A voice perched, happy and excited.
”Thomas. Hello.” Fluixon replied
”It’s almost like you’re waiting for someone,” the brown haired boy grinned at his peer.
“Why come here?” A hint of annoyance attached to the words.
“Use your words. A little birdie told me you’ve got quite the vocabulary.” He said, his tone mocking.
“Birdie..?”
“I’m so bored already,” Thomas said with a sour expression. “Let’s just cut the pretenses okay? I am here to strike a deal with you.
Silence came from Fluixon’s side, not having anything to say.
“You want to be gone, I want you gone. This will benefit us both.”
A smirk came upon Fluixon’s gentle features.
