   Summary

   Former Fatui soldiers begin arriving at Mondstadt’s gates in increasing numbers—injured, terrified, and begging for asylum. At first, the city welcomes them out of simple compassion. Then the defectors begin speaking about the wind. And every single one becomes devoted to Barbatos with an intensity that borders on worship and relief in equal measure.
   As rumors spread through Snezhnaya of missing Fatui officers, shattered prison camps, and storms that seem almost alive, Mondstadt slowly realizes something horrifying: Their god has started bringing people home personally.

   And the God of Freedom is far more possessive, ancient, and terrifying than anyone ever imagined.
