Chapter Text
How would you describe something so beautiful that it felt impossible to look away? Maybe you would look up at the moon and describe it as breathtaking, but this was something much more than alluring.
That alluring blue that felt impossible to obtain, like something you can just grab but never reach. The moment they appeared he roamed the planet as if it were his own.
Every step he took guided the wind to follow, he was freedom without limits.
The moment he saw the hedgehog he had to admit, he couldn’t take his eyes off him. He was definitely something worth looking at. The way the moon shined off his blue fur. The moons rays portrayed him like an angel with wings, reaching down to him.
That cocky attitude and ability to shine so bright originally had put Shadow off.
Sonic felt insufferable, his actions felt too flashy and without care. It felt as if his every move was made to capture attention. Thought you couldn’t deny who he was.
A guardian that looked over all, even when no one sees it. He may be annoying at first but it was undeniable. He was a true and utter Angel.
Though over time Shadow noticed something…
Some oddities that don’t feel very befitting for a self made saint.
Shadow couldn’t deny that Sonic has his own charms that seemed to capture everyone’s attention. But it seemed to run a bit deeper than admiration.
Some of Sonic’s fans were flat out obsessed with Sonic but that’s just was usually comes from being famous. Sure there was more than usual but he did save the planet more than once.
He didn’t think Sonics very presence could be a drug.
He witnessed the way another one of Sonics self proclaimed ‘rivals’ desired nothing more than to beat Sonic, but it seemed much more than that. They completely stripped themselves of all other heavy desires. Even loss only felt like another high for them. It’s like they chased the feeling of being able to get close to Sonic’s level.
It’s like Sonic’s very presence was an undeniable need once you get a taste of that adrenaline rush with them.
He never thought he would get addicted to it either.
It was never Shadows goal but somehow that undeniable emerald color seemed to end up in every one of his thoughts. The feeling now presents itself without any doubt. Shadow can feel every over bearing feeling screaming for the same thing.
The blue creature wouldn’t leave him alone when they just started to talk, he would constantly try to pry open Shadow. It was like he hoping to get some kind of secret. The constant poking at his walls eventually made it crumble, it was enough for Sonic to dig all the way to his heart.
The moment to Shadow realized something was wrong he couldn’t leave. It was consuming him… and it already had a chokehold.
Every moment felt more and more easy to have, that feeling when he sees Sonic makes his head feel blank. It felt like a rush. It was a constant need that couldn’t be satisfied. Every moment with the angel felt like it wasn’t enough, the constant need to feel that intense high constantly followed the blue footsteps.
An untouchable being, the very presence acting as a fruit of temptation daring any mobian who’s foolish enough to take a bite. The blue hedgehog doesn’t slow down for anyone, those who got addicted to the taste to his sickening mockery of love were left to burn with the desire.
Many got addicted to the feeling that angel was able to provide, that inner want spread like vines that enveloped you, it was suffocating but it left you feeling more free than anything. Like you had forgotten to breathe before it invaded you.
Every moment without that taste only leaves every feeling dull, no matter what you overwhelm your senses with, you never feel full.
He always left you feeling like you mattered, an ego stroked so bold that the defeat left such a feeling making you claw for more.
That hero was much more than some simple hedgehog. They were an addiction coated in a blue that made himself feel all the more rare and unattainable. An angel with wings so white and pure you don’t realize the black feathers until it’s too late.
Shadow was just another fool that got lured in by his open arms.
He needs Sonic. it didn’t feel like a choice. The ability to choose his own fate was stripped away from him the moment destiny placed hands on time itself.
It wasn’t like the hero would ever slow down for him, but that was fine, he didn’t need to. Shadow will match his pace.
He wasn’t gunna let Sonic leave, no, no, no.
He’d be an idiot to let his angel leave so easily, after all it was Sonic who provoked these feelings inside of him.
If he wasn’t gunna get a choice then neither would the savior. If this was a fight Sonic was gunna challenge then Shadow was gunna fight to win…
No matter how far victory was.

You can’t make this up..
this was the second time one of his more expensive jackets went missing… that darned bat really had a death wish. “ROUGE!” Shadow practically scream out his words, his patience was wearing thinner each time.
“What the hell are you yelling for? You act as if I can’t hear.” Rouge responded while flying over to Shadows room to see the problem. Shadow never got angry and would outright find her like this often.
“Where the hell have you been taking my jackets?” Shadow growled, he had enough of this game of mystery. These clothes weren’t cheap to replace! The last time he lost it he just decided to call it some mistake, but this was one time too many.
Why would Rouge steal his clothes? this doesn’t just happen twice in one month for nothing!
Rouge poked her head into Shadows closet door and looked over the mess that was now Shadows closet. “Why are you accusing me?” Her voice was low but she kept it classy as always. Rouge scoffed at the accusation. “You act as if I would go that low, you wound me Shadow.” She batted her eyes as if she was some innocent bystander.
Shadow raised an eyebrow at her, that act never worked on him. He got too used to her antics.
Plus she once took 5$ from a waiter at a high end restaurant when they weren’t looking. This is plenty her level. “I know you… also I have to go somewhere this isn’t funny.”
Rouge immediately stiffened when Shadow wasn’t budging an inch. “Ok… maybe I do stoop low, but I would never pawn off your clothes. You take me for some desperate common thief.”
“You are a thief.”
She put her hand on her chest and had the audacity to look hurt. “I’m a thief with taste and class Shadow. If I wanted to take something to pawn off I’d be taking gems.”
Shadow sighs as he tries his best to control his frustration, this whole thing was getting ridiculous. “Well I don’t know about you but the only other option I have is our washing machine suddenly growing an appetite for MY leather jackets.”
Shadow emphasized the part where the clothes were his, because for some reason Rouge never had a single thing go missing. Not even a sock.
Rouge gave him a look of offense. “Well maybe someone else took them! Why am I at fault here!?” Her voice became higher as she narrowed her eyes at the black and red hedgehog before her.
“Oh yea! Some random person came here and decided to take nothing but my jacket!”
Shadows tone was anything but apologetic, if anything he was tackling Rouge with accusations. This only made her leave his room, she didn’t want to deal with this nonsense any further. “If you find your jacket thief you owe me an apology!” Her voice echoed down the hallway eventually getting lost.
Shadow groans as he grabs a random jacket and starts to put it on. “I really need to get my own place…” frankly Shadow only started living with Rouge since it was easy. Gun offered it up to them since it was close by their base, it would be easy to travel over when needed.
Plus it finally got rid of Rouges constant excuses on why she was late. The offer up of a luxurious place for the price of a cheap one was too good to pass up. Still though, that fact that she could fly over traffic and still end up late somehow was beyond him.
Shadow glanced over at the clock and immediately felt his own body spike up. “SHIT IM LATE!” How could he be so careless!? He was late with his meet up with Amy!
He immediately bolted outside the door without so much as another glance at his room.
He had scheduled a meeting with rose, and boy was he gunna get an earful for being late. Shadow always knew that she had a thing for Sonic. She was no stranger to the power Sonic had on others.
But Shadow wasn’t there for normal conversation. He wanted to know how she felt, I mean if he was gunna somehow obtain the very essence of temptation as his own, he would need to get familiar with what he was working with.
Shadow quickly runs over a nearby Coffee shop to grab something for himself. He doesn’t have the time to make his own brew. Even if most coffee shops lacked any real quality he still wanted one.
He takes a quick detour of the forest before out of the corner of his eyes he spots something.
Something a bit too blue to be something normal. That angelic light seemed to be a bit too familiar to simply not look.
It was his angel.
“Shadow!”
That beautiful lapis blue color seems to blur its surroundings. The wind carries his form almost as if he’s being chased, he dashes over to Shadows side, that smile that seemed to follow his face no matter what. Those bright eyes seemed to glitter the moment they met his own.
He can feel his whole body go stiff, it refused to leave the presence of such an angelic voice.
His face tightened as he struggled to command his own body. It was as if his own soul was not longer his to control.
“What the hell are you doing here.” His voice felt rough, he had to keep himself from wanting to completely change his schedule. He was late, and this walking personification of temptation wasn’t going to help him. Even if his presence was very welcomed.
Though a few minutes won’t hurt right?
