Mania (man-eye-a)thw hedgehog of spagonia is the first last born sibling to be in line to the throne after the affairs of Queen Aleena. He has no discernable personality traits and is only seen accompanying his siblings and mother. The law does not want him. He smiles in photos.
Sonic is a wild anti-monarchy rebel and a raging ego filled activists often fighting both mechanical and living royal forces. He is seen with a plethora of other "freedom fighters". Sonic is wanted by the law, unlike Mania. Unlike Mania, sonic is Wanted.
The two have never been seen anywhere simultaneously

Summary
After the disaster of their attempted 'date', Sonic blames himself and starts to distance himself, much to Shadow's annoyance. But there's not much he can do when his whatever-they-are leaves on a mission without saying anything, except to start hunting down the bastard whose entire fault this is.

Sonic runs from his problems, and stumbles into something bigger than he meant to.
