Work Text:
That was probably the most stupid idea he ever had, Liam couldn't help but think about it as he ran through the hospital's halls.
Even if Theo was following him, the beta knew that the only person there he could depend on was himself. All that the chimera had ever done by far was only care about himself and step on others in the process of getting what he wanted. Not exactly a reliable guy. Still, Theo was the only remaining person there.
A ghost rider cornered the werewolf against a table, Liam managed to push it away from him, but as soon as the ghost rider pointed his gun to his face, Liam knew he was screwed. There was no time to attack or escape, he would be gone like Mason and Hayden.
He closed his eyes expecting the worst, but no magic bullet hitted his face. When Liam opened his eyes once again, the sighed of Theo using his strength to shove the ghost rider to another room surprised the werewolf.
Didn't he say he would be running in the other direction if Liam was in danger?
Liam didn't have time to think of what that act meant, he quickly grabbed a broom and placed it in front of the door Theo had locked the rider in, as an attempt to try to slow him down. No way, just a stupid door would lock him forever.
The chimera's eyes finally met the werewolf's, Liam had never noticed how green they were before. Theo smiled at him back, not with his usual smugness, but a genuine smile. One that didn't last long as more riders were approaching them.
Theo insisted that they should run away, but he still followed Liam when he walked directly to danger.
──────────✦──────────
Maybe they actually could make a good team, Liam thought while he and Theo stood by the corpse of the Rider that the beta had previously shot to protect the chimera.
Damn, he was already falling in his promise of not doing anything to help the older boy.
Theo lifted his hand inviting Liam to a fist bump, but before their fist could meet more and more ghost riders had arrived.
Liam got back to his attack position while Theo ran to the elevator direction. Well, sooner or later, the chimera would leave him behind to save his own ass, it was just a question of time. Although, for a moment the werewolf let himself think that Theo could be able to change.
Strong hands evolved the beta's body, pushing him backwards away from the riders. When they got closer to the elevator, he was dropped inside of it by Theo.
"What are you doing?" Liam asked, barely having a moment to register what had just happened.
"Being the bait." Theo smiled as the elevator's door closed.
"No!" Liam got up to stop him, but it was already too late, his face only met a closed door.
There was nothing more that he could do for the chimera that he could still hear growled in pain as he fought the riders of the storm all by himself.
Self-sacrificial was not a word Liam ever thought he would use for Theo Raeken. Maybe, there was still hope for him after all.
──────────✦──────────
Liam had his plan, he just needed to get his hands on that damn horse. He hoped that the ghost horse would be more friendly than the one from his uncle's ranch, that one horse still gave Liam life long nightmares.
"Nice horse." Liam called while preparing to jump on the horse.
But, he was restrained from jumping by a Ghost rider. The beta tried to hit the creature with his elbow in order to escape, but was not being very successful at that.
How Theo Raeken of all people managed to find him and rescue him just in time was a mystery to Liam. Not that he was complaining with The chimera's claws digging inside the creature's skin, he was able to escape its hold.
"Hey! You made it out!" Liam managed to say, despite still having trouble breathing.
"Yeah, barely! What's the plan?" Theo asked while holding the ghost rider.
"Uh, steal the horse and get into the Hunt." The chimera groaned at Liam’s plan. Come on, it was not that bad of a plan.
"You're kidding, right? I went through all this to keep you from being taken!" The confession made Liam’s heart beat a little faster. When had that guy actually done something so sincere?
"You need a hand?" The beta asked.
"I'm good." The older boy assured. "Then go, already!"
That was just one ghost rider, Theo had already faced a horde of them back at the hospital all by himself, he could take care of that. Also, Liam had to get inside of the wild hunt to save his best friend, his girlfriend and the others. There was no time to think about Theo's words and actions.

"You two took a way too long." Mason said when Liam entered the McCall's kitchen followed by Theo, their unexpected allie.
"What happened to your clothes?" Lydia asked, looking at Liam from head to toe.
"Aperrently, someone didn't like the visual." The werewolf gave Theo a treating stare, the chimera looked like he didn't regret anything.
Oh, Liam would make him pay for his t-shirts, the two of them.
"We found something." Argent informed, taking a look at the map spread over the table.
"What are these points on the map?" Liam asked.
"They're Nemetons." Theo stated.
Gerard did not want only Beacon Hills, he wanted the entire population of supernaturals gone. There was nowhere to run.
Next Scott's dad entered the house, announcing that the entire city had weapons now. Great, now Liam didn't have teammates that attacked him with simple lacrosse balls, no they had literal guns.
"Get down!" Lydia yelled.
Before Liam could notice what was happening and properly react, he was pushed to the ground by Theo. Then, he heard the sound of bullets passing through the glass of the windows.
His first thought was Mason, if one of those bullets hit him he would get seriously injured, he hadn't kept any supernatural healing abilities after he had been separated from the beast. Liam shouldn't have involved him in all these, he should have sent him back home.
The werewolf could see that his best friend was being shielded by Lydia, which didn't really comfort him at all, given the fact that the Banshee didn't have any healing abilities herself. Liam tried to get up to go to protect them from the bullets that didn't seem to stop, but the weight of the chimera's body above inhibited him.
"Are you okay?" Theo muttered once the shooting ceased. Liam could feel the chimera's breathing on his own neck, giving the fact of how close their bodies were.
"Yeah." The werewolf managed to respond, although he thought his heart was going to jump from his chest.
Once again Theo Raeken had saved his life, but Liam didn't get the time to think about it, not when his best friend was bleeding.
──────────✦──────────
Trusting Nolan was a mistake, Liam thought as he walked backwards when Gabe and more hunters pointed guns at his direction.
The werewolf was screwed, there was no place to run to, he had fallen on that damn trap. Shit, he had even called Mason and Corey to go to that freaking hospital, if anything happened to them it would be his fault. He was such a bad stand-in "alpha", he couldn't even save himself, let alone protect his friends.
He shouldn't have taken the risk.
Before the bullets could make it's trajectory, Liam heard the noise of the elevator's door opening from behind him. A strong arm involved the beta's neck and there was a hand firmly holding his hip, pulling him inside the elevator, out of danger. The bullets only met the elevator's closed door.
The sight of Theo's face surprised him. How did the chimera even know that he was in danger? Not that Liam was assuming that he was the reason for Theo coming to the hospital.
Theo said he wouldn't die for him, but still he ended up taking a bullet on his shoulder when Gabe aimed at both of them due the fact he made sure Liam would run too. But there was no time to think about that, the werewolf needed to get up and stop the hunter before he could hurt anyone else.
──────────✦──────────
In the past few months things have finally begun to chill down. What was odd, giving the past two years of Liam's life at that town. What was even more odd was having the chimera of death constantly around. It was not like he was complaining, he liked having Theo around, it was useful having someone more expensive on their side and the beta actually felt more comfortable around him.
The problem of not having any potential threat to occupy his mind was that someone was constantly in his thoughts. And the someone in question being Theo Raeken didn't make the werewolf relax, even if that guy was his potential anchor.
Yeah, Theo somehow was able to calm him down when he was having a crisis, it being due a full moon or his IED. Still, the feelings blooming for the chimera also made him lose his mind.
All the times Theo had saved him played on his mind. Why do you keep trying to save me? Liam had previously asked, but did not obtain an actual answer.
When Liam had told his best friend that he might have some kind of feeling for the chimera, Mason said he was out of his mind. After everything he had done, really?
But, Theo stood around and seeing the way he was now, especially with Liam, made Mason change his mind. Maybe Theo had a soft spot for Liam, which didn't necessarily mean anything.
Theo was getting his shit together, he stayed at Beacon Hills to help the younger members of the pack and even got a job at a coffee shop. The werewolf adored going there after school, both because of the food's quality and to annoy his favorite waiter. The older boy seemed to enjoy his work, it was good to see Theo with a more relaxed posture and smiling more after everything.
They both were patrolling the preserve looking for some herb that Melissa had asked for. Theo had decided to full shift in order to capture the smell better or maybe it was just to make Liam almost fall while trying to not trip on the wolf walking closer to his feet.
"Think you only fully shifted to brother me." The beta remarked after he had almost lost his balance because of wolf Theo.
A howl came out of the wolf's mouth, he looked worried and agitated, Liam saw him get to the top of a big rock nearby.
"Did you find anything?" Liam asked.
As expected the only response he had at the moment was a bark, although he sounded a little despaired for some reason. Then, he noticed the flick of a trigger, before Liam could identify where the threat was, Theo jumped into Liam as bullets flowed away, making them both roll down the hill.
When he was starting to believe things were coming down and he finally would be able to have a normal high school experience.
The wolf above him was whining, the smell of blood was strong, Theo had been hitted while trying to protect Liam.
"Shit!" The werewolf groaned. He was scared of what could happen with the hurt chimera, but wasn't able to give Theo the attention necessary when there was still someone trying to kill them.
He placed the wolf on the ground and quickly shifted, letting his fangs and claws out. When Liam spotted a man with a rifle on hand, he ran to his direction dodging the bullets that were aimed at him.
Getting closer Liam fought with man for the gold of the gun, he was definitely an amateur what made it easy for the werewolf to put his hand on the rifle and hit the hunter's head with it.
The hunter was down, unfortunately he didn't have any chains or ropes with him to restrain that man down. But the fallen hunter was his biggest problem at the moment, Liam ran back to Theo who was still trapped in his wolf form. Two bullets had managed to hit him, it probably were inside his body which would explain the fact he wasn't healing and if he wasn't mistaken it smelled like there was wolfsbane spreading by his body.
"Shit, Theo!" The beta exclaimed in horror as the wolf whimpered in pain "I will get you help."
Luckily, before shifting Theo had given his keys to him, so there was no trouble unlocking the truck. Liam took care in placing the wolf the most gentle and conformable way possible on the passenger's seat, still Theo whined.
"Sorry. I'll get you to Deaton." Liam promised, he wouldn't let Theo die only 'cause he saved him.
Liam rushed to the driver's seat and started the engine, not even bothering putting on the seatbelt.
They were lucky that there barely were cars on Beacon Hill's streets that late at night, Liam arrived at the vet clinic on half on time that it would usually take, the truck probably would get a ticket for ultrapassing the speed limits.
A few minutes before the beta started shouting with Theo in his arms, the druid who probably had his sleep interrupted appeared to open the door.
"He needs help!" Liam blurted, trying to contain tears from spreading to his face.
"These one is..."
"Theo, a hunter shot him."
"Come here, lay him on the table." Deaton said and Liam did what he was told as fast as he could.
Liam was glad that they still have Deaton around, he certainly wouldn't have known what to do I'd he was alone. His stepfather may be an amazing doctor, but surely wouldn't know what to do with wolfsbane poisoning or with a wolf.
"That's going to hurt." The veterinarian warned with his medical equipment and a blowtorch already on his hand. "Liam, could you...?"
"Take his pain? Yeah." The young beta said, pressing his hand on the black fur.
"Hold on, Theo." The druid said before he had started taking the bullets out.
The wolf started growling in pain only stopping after Liam's arms were covered by black veins. With the bullets out of the wolf's body the druid began to burn the wolfsbane.
"It will be fine, Theo." Liam whispered more for himself than for Theo himself.
"It's done." Deaton said.
"Is he going to be okay?" Liam asked. He needed Theo to be fine.
"He needs some rest and then he will be able to heal better." The druid stated. "You saved his life, no need to worry."
"Can you shift back, Theo?" Liam asked, but all he got in response was a low whine from the wolf.
"Shifting back will demand a lot of energy that he doesn't have right now." The veterinarian said petting the wolf's head. "I can keep an eye on him at the clinic. Go home, Liam. You had a rough night, too"
"I really need a shower and my bed." The fight with the hunter and taking Theo's pain had drained the werewolf's energy.
With the mention of leaving, Theo started growling and barking, an action he certainly wouldn't be doing if had his normal senses. Liam definitely would make fun of him for this later.
"Think someone doesn't want you to leave." Deaton pointed out.
"Forgot how needy you get when you are on this form." Liam glared at those still green eyes.
"Shifted werewolves tend to get like that with their anchor around."
Anchor. Was it really true? Well, he probably wasn't being the best anchor always managing to put Theo at risk
"Can I take him home?"
"He looks stable, but you will have to keep an eye on him." The druid informed. "If something happens make sure to call me."
"Sure." Liam said, taking the black wolf in his arms.
"And Liam." Deaton called. "Drive safely, you need to take care if there's hunters still out
──────────✦──────────
Both of his parents would be working late that night which meant Liam could enter his own home with a wolf without any question being made. He had already told them about being a werewolf and that some people like Theo could shift into an actual wolf, but he was tired and didn't want to keep answering their concerned questions about the hunter on the wood. Also, being surrendered by people who he didn't even know probably would overwhelm the chimera who really needed to rest.
Theo's wolf form was not exactly light to carry, especially having to go upstairs to reach the bedroom, but Liam managed to get him on his bed without any accidents.
Liam had barely opened the bathroom door when he heard the wolf whine, never in his life he could imagine that the chimera of death would whine about being left alone.
"I will be back in a few minutes, buddy."
The puppy eyes Theo gave him almost made him change his mind, still a shower was necessary.
"Come on, you don't want me all bloody and smelly."
It might have hurt a little to leave a hurt Theo all by himself, but there was nothing like being clean and with soft new clothes.
When he returned to the bedroom, Theo was still curled in his wolf form, too tired to bother in shifting back.
"So, I could let you have the bed all for yourself and I will go to the other..." Liam had started suggesting, but the growling indicated that someone didn't enjoy that idea. "Okay, I will stay with you."
The beta carefully laid on his bed, taking care not startling Theo. He couldn't believe that just a few hours ago he had almost lost the chimera.
"You are an idiot." Liam muttered facing Theo's green eyes.
In response the chimera decided to lick the younger boy's hand next to him.
"That's gross." Liam complained. "Bad chimera."
For a moment the beta wished that Theo shifted back so he could punch, instead he steeled for petting his head and the wolf seemed to enjoy it.
"Don't do it ever again." Liam begged, but not caring about the licked hand. If something like that or worse happened to Theo again, he wouldn't know how to live with himself.
──────────✦──────────
Liam woke up with the sunlight hitting his face, he shifted to his side and met the view of a black wolf peacefully sleeping, it didn't even look like just a few hours he was growling in pain. All because Liam was stupid and hadn't seen a hunter approaching them. He just keeps putting the people around him at risk.
It didn't take long, for Theo opened his eyes, even if his wolf from his eyes were so green.
"Good morning." Liam said, finally letting himself smile a little. "How are you feeling?"
The wolf shaked his head a little before covering all his body with the blanket, Theo growled as he shifted back to his human form. Finally, Liam could see Theo's face emerging from the blanket.
"Good morning." Theo said with a weak voice and his messy hair on his face. "I'm fine."
"You could have died." Liam stated.
"Already died once and I can say I'm pretty much alive now." Theo stated, the beta hated it when he joked like that.
"I'm talking seriously, Theo."
"I am too, it was nothing."
"You took two bullets with wolfsbane on it."
"Yet, here I'm." Liam had to control himself to not punch the chimera's stupid face.
"Let me see how it is your wound, Theo." The werewolf demanded.
"I said I'm fine."
"Let me see." Liam said as he grabbed the blanket to uncover the chimera's body.
"Are you nuts?" Theo yelled, stopping the beta of exposing his body. "I don't have any clothes on, in case you forgot."
"Oh, sorry." Liam with his face fully red retreated his hand. "I just wanted to help, you were like that because of me."
"Ok, I will let you play nurse." The chimera sighed. "I probably need a new bandage. Just let me put some clothes on."
"Fine." The werewolf said, getting out of the bed and opening his wardrobe. "Your clothes were left at the wood, so you will have to wear mine."
"No problem." Theo said. "Unless, you're still that eager to see me naked, Liam."
"Shut up!"
Theo probably was still in pain, so the beta chose the most comfortable clothes he had, a black sweatpants and a gray hoodie, along with the underwear. He hoped that the clothes would fit the chimera, he had a more strong and brawny body than Liam.
"Here. I will go downstairs to grab the first aid kit." Liam informed as he placed the clothes on the bed. "I'll come back quickly."
──────────✦──────────
"Can I go back inside?" Liam asked while knocking on his own bedroom door.
"Yes." The older boy replied.
When he opened the door, the beta saw Theo still laying on his bed, luckily the clothes seemed to have fitted, despite the hoodie did look a little bit more thigh on him than on Liam. The grey hoodie was lifted in a way that exposed the older boy's abdomen. The beta could have easily gotten distracted admiring how ripped Theo was, if it wasn't by the wounds on his skin.
"I wouldn't say that this looks good." The werewolf voiced, sitting next to the older boy.
"It's no big deal." Liam rolled his eyes at Theo's replies. "It's almost healed."
"If it wasn't that big of a deal, it should already be gone." Liam remarked while he cleaned Theo's injuries with a wet wip, making Theo growl at the contact.
I'm fine, my ass.
"In case you forgot, I'm a chimera." Theo remarked. "My healing is slower than yours and being shifted made it worse."
"So, you shouldn't have jumped I'm front of the bullets."
"It would have hitted you." Theo declared as if it made any sense.
"And I heal faster like you said." The werewolf said after he finished adjusting the bandage on Theo's body.
"I'm healing." The chimera said, pointing to the bandage on his body. "Soon, I'm not even need this."
"Because Deaton took care of your wound." The werewolf yelled. "What if he wasn't there? What if I didn't get you there on time and in safety? You know I suck at driving."
"You don't even have a license."
"I've my permit." Liam informed. "But, that's not the...."
"If the cops had stopped you, that permit wouldn't count for anything." The older boy interrupted, the bullets and the wolfsbane definitely didn't affect his sense of humor.
"It's valid." Liam retorted.
"Only if you have another licensed driver with you."
"You were with me." The beta pointed out.
"As a wolf." The chimera laughed. "How would you explain to the police that the wolf is a better driver than you, Liam?"
"Well, so I would be arrested and would be left there to die." Liam retorted. "See how reckless it was."
The chimera growled, this time not out of pain, but because he was annoyed by the beta's scolding.
"You know you don't have like a debt to pay with me, right?" Liam looked deep at the chimera's green eyes.
"Sure..." Theo mocked and rolled his eyes.
"I don't understand you.' The werewolf confessed. "For someone who claims to only do what benefits himself, you are so fucking reckless and impulsive."
"I'm not."
"You just keep running to danger lately."
"Beacause I have plans, Liam." Theo stated. Sure, he could be smart and calculist, but he hadn't been the brightest lately.
"And what you were planning after being shot, then?" The beta confronted him.
"Liam..."
"That's not even the first time!" Liam yelled as he thought about all the times Theo placed himself at risk just so he could be saved. "When we fought the hunters, the ghost rider, when Scott's house was under attack you protected me with your own body."
"You're welcome." Was what left the chimera's mouth. It was not like Liam was ungrateful, but there was a more important point to be made.
"You are unbelievable." The beta sighed. Why did he even like such an annoying guy?
"I have to call my boss." Theo announced. "If you let me."
"I already talked to her." The beta declared. "I said that you aren't going to work today 'cause you got shot. She was worried, by the way."
"How do you even have Willow's number?" The barista asked, confused.
"You work in a coffee shop, Theo." Liam ruminated. "You can easily find their number on the Internet."
Shortly after the fight at the hospital, Theo managed to get the job at a coffee shop, even without having any experience or a degree, for saving the owner's life. Willow was one of the werecreatures that were being tied to wolfsbane at the hospital.
"Also, I might have exchanged numbers with her when you first started working there." Liam confessed, although he might talk with Willow about her waiter more than he would like to admit.
"Why?" Theo looked confused.
"Just in case something happened to her stupid employee." The beta explained. Willow being a werecoyote herself made things easier to explain. "You might not care about yourself, but there are people who care about you."
"It's not like that."
"So why do you keep putting yourself in danger?" Liam asked again.
"I already said I'm following the plan." The chimera insisted.
"What stupid plan?"
"Keeping you safe!" The older boy yelled.
"You don't need to take that much risk because of me."
"What do you expect me to do? Let you get hurt, really?"
"You were supposed to be my responsibility, not the other way around." The werewolf declared, he had been doing a really shit job at being Theo's guardian, he only got them in danger.
"I can handle myself, don't need anyone to be responsible for me." Theo claimed.
"If you somehow think you have to do that because I brought you back..."
"It's not really because of that."
"So why?"
"Because it's you, Liam." Theo relented. "You are valuable."
"Oh, and you're spendable!?" The werewolf yelled. "What kind of bullshit It's that?"
"It's just that I can't think about losing you." Theo muttered with his heart beating fast, he used to be better at controlling it. "You are all that I have left! Even though I don't even have you. Like you don't even think of me barely as a friend."
"I don't think you are that stupid." Liam reached to hold Theo's wrist. "Well, if I didn't care about you would I be here making sure you are healing fine and scolding you?"
"It would save you the trouble." He snarked.
"Can't you just stop doing risky things?" The beta asked. The life of a werecreature always would come with a lot of risk, but they had to keep surviving and actually live their lives like normal teenagers.
"You're worth the risk." The confession left Theo's lips.
"Why?!"
"Don't make me say it." The chimera said with a blushing face.
"Oh, now you're gonna shut your mouth?" Liam inquired. "What you don't want to admit? Some suicidal tendency or..."
"That I feel for you." The words that Theo blurted out made him speechless for a moment.
"Oh... you mean it?" Liam wondered, his heart beating as fast as the one in Theo's chest.
"As more stupid as it sounds. Yeah." The declared, visibly annoyed with himself.
"Why would it be stupid?"
"After everything I've done I shouldn't even feel this way, let alone hope you could reciprocate." Theo's eyes wandered through the room, avoiding meeting Liam's blue eyes.
"By everything you have done, you mean saving my life multiple times?"
"You should know better than anyone about all I did." The chimera recalled. "Fuck, I was going to kill you."
Liam could feel how much Theo's words were filled with guilt and resentment, the past actions clearly haunted the chimera.
"But, then you saved me over and over again." The werewolf assured, the other boy's actions making more sense now. Still stupid, though. "Since the first time you saved me at the hospital, I just couldn't stop thinking why you were risking yourself for me. Guess, now I know."
"I wasn't in love with you back then." Theo correct.
"Ah, okay."
"You had brought me back and couldn't let you be taken away." A shy smile appeared on Theo's face as he spoke. "You were ready to risk it all for your friends and knew what I had to do. I fell for you when you got on that stupid horse."
"Good that you know the exact moment." The beta pondered.
"That makes me sound even more stupid." The chimera sighed.
"I think not knowing exactly when I fell for you It's even more stupid." It was Liam's time to confess.
"You what?" If it wasn't for the wound still healing Theo would have abruptly jumped from the bed.
"Yeah, there was that day that I was thinking and then it hitted me like 'oh, I'm in love with Theo'." The werewolf admitted, he was never the best with confessions and speeches, but he hoped that Theo could understand.
"For real?"
"Of course, your dumbass." Liam pouted and frowned. "Get it now, why putting yourself in danger makes me so pissed?"
Theo might had tried to contain his laugh, but he eventually failed.
"Why are you laughing?"
"You look cute when you get annoyed like that." He admitted fast. "So, how do you wanna take things?"
"Like..."
"You have feelings for me. Do you want to just ignore it or do something about it?" Theo inquired, looking anxiously at Liam's face.
"Why would I ignore it now knowing you feel the same?" The werewolf tried to understand what that logic was.
"Well, I'm not exactly the most charming guy." Theo informed. "And you are you, so I would understand if you don't want to...
Before Theo could finish his idiotic thought process, Liam made him stop by getting above his lap and pulling him for a kiss. The chimera's lips were so soft, but he had to retreat when he noticed that the moan that escaped those lips were of pain due the accidental pressure on his wound.
"Sorry." Liam said embarrassed, adjusting his position to not hurt Theo.
"I'm still healing so go slow." Theo muttered. "But, it was good."
"You know, I'm not exactly the best example of a good boy, right?" The beta asked, pressing his forehead with the chimera's. "Like I was literally expelled from my last school. I used to get in a lot of fights."
"So, you are the bad boy here?" Theo laughed.
"Would you still want to date this bad boy, Theo?" The werewolf queried. "Cause this is what I want with you."
"I would love to be your boyfriend, Liam."
──────────✦──────────
"Your parents aren't going to complain about the food on the couch?" Theo asked when they seated on the couch with a plate of waffles.
"Just if I let the food fall on the couch." Liam answered with his mouth full
"So, they probably will be mad." The chimera affirmed.
"What do you mean?" The beta frowned.
"You're always so messy, Liam."
"I'm not."
"I've seen you eat on my truck and I clearly remember you dropping food on it." Theo stated, although Liam would say that his now boyfriend was exaggerating.
"You're so overprotective of your truck."
"I just don't like it getting dirty."
"Well, I wouldn't like to sleep in a dirty place, too." The younger boy said and Theo froze at hearing these words.
"What are you talking about?" Theo managed to say with a trembling voice.
"How long have you been sleeping on your truck, Theo?" Liam asked with a serious tone.
"What do you mean?"
"I saw the blanket on your truck." Liam informed.
"I keep one in there for when I have to patrol at night or stuff like that." The chimera's heartbeat remained steady, but he was the best at lying.
"Don't lie to me, there was a bag with all your clothes, too." Liam insisted, no way he would let that one slide.
"If you knew my clothes were in my truck why did you make me wear your clothes?" Theo asked, 'cause of course he would try changing the subject.
"Don't try changing the subject." The beta gasped.
"Guess who also don't wanna respond now." The older boy raised one eyebrow. How much Liam wanted to punch his stupid gorgeous face at that moment.
That boy was impossible.
"Cause I thought you would look cute in my clothes." The werewolf admitted with a slightly red face
"Someone is clingy." Theo might had mocked, but Liam knew how much Theo was enjoying wearing his clothes. The werewolf would also like to take it off another time.
Wait, he was losing focus. Almost falling for the chimera's trick.
"Also, I didn't think that was the time to corner you about it."
"And now is it?" Theo said, annoyed again.
"Yeah, I answered your stupid question, answer mine now." The werewolf demanded.
"Since we stopped the ghost riders." The chimera gave in.
"That has been months." Liam pointed out. How could he have been that oblivious to Theo's situation? "Sorry I didn't realize earlier."
"We know how good I'm at keeping secrets." If Theo's intention was making him laugh with something serious like that he failed.
"If we're going to have a relationship I need you to be honest with me, Theo." Liam stated, embracing the chimera's hand with his own. "It's not because you don't have my trust, but I need to know how you have been doing and how I can help you."
"I've been saving money. I think I will be able to pay for rent in a few months."
"Hell no. You will be moving in here." The werewolf claimed. He would make sure his boyfriend was safe, even if it meant having to drag him to his house. Not that Liam would complain about it. "No discussion."
"Excuse me. You can't just decide that." Theo whined.
"I can't let you, my stupid boyfriend, keep living in his car." Liam pinched the older boy's cheek. "Especially if there are hunters still out there."
"You're not exactly the owner of the house." Theo said after he had snapped the hand off his cheek.
"I will talk with my parents." The beta said, already knowing that would take much to convince his parents, even if they said no, he would find a way for Theo to sneak into his bedroom.
"They don't even know me." Theo remarked. Why couldn't he just accept help when it was offered?
"They have already heard about you." Liam muttered, not wanting to give away how much he talked about that chimera.
"I don't want to be a burden for your family."
"My parents will love to have you around." Liam assured.
"Sure, 'cause every parent likes their child having his boyfriend at the house the whole night." Theo laughed.
"Think what they really wouldn't like their son-in-law passing the night in the streets."
"Not in the streets, in my truck. Don't exaggerate." He said like there was a huge difference.
"It's the same thing." Liam gasped. "And why didn't you tell me?"
"I can handle myself, I have a job now, I've been saving money for rent." Theo repeated and took a moment to reveal the true reason. "Also, I didn't think you would care."
"I do care very much." Liam informed with a childish voice.
"I'm starting to believe." A smile appeared on the chimera's face. Theo was even more beautiful when he smiled and he was already normally gorgeous.
"You should already have that in mind." Liam had said before pulling Theo's body closer to his own and crashed his lips on the chimera's, breakfast long forgotten. But, the noise of the front door opening made Theo break the kiss and jump far from Liam.
"Honey, we're back." His mother announced.
"Looks like we have some company." David voiced when he spotted his stepson and Theo on the couch.
The two boys were fairly decent, there wouldn't be a hint that they were making out in the living room just seconds ago if it wasn't for Theo's bright face and their messy hairs.
"Hum, yeah, Theo stayed the night." Liam said, trying to cover his embarrassment.
"So, this is the famous Theo?" Jenna smiled.
"Liam talks about you a lot." David added.
The werewolf was glad he already had confessed his feelings to Theo, if he hadn't he would probably explode with his parents comments to the older boy.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both." Theo managed to say, still shy in front of them.
"It's always nice to meet one of Liam's... friends." His mother said, shifting her eyes between the two boys.
"Actually..." Liam looked at his boyfriend, waiting for his consent before continuing to talk. "We just started dating."
"Finally!" Jenna exclaimed. "I was wondering when you would do something about your pinning."
"Mom!" Liam yelled with his face bright red. Maybe having Theo around his parents was a bad idea after all.
"It was kind of obvious, Liam." David said.
"Not you too, dad."
Theo seemed to be enjoying the embarrassing situation given the fact he was trying to contain bursting into laughter.
"You don't get to say anything, 'cause you didn't even notice that till I told ya." The werewolf gave a threatening look to the older boy.
"So, you two had some fun last night?" His mother said in a suspicious tone.
"Mom, don't give that look." Liam pleaded.
"Okay, I'm not saying anything for now." Jenna informed. "But we're going to have the talk later."
No, not another talk about safe sex with his mother again. Liam would rather avoid it, the one they had when he started dating Hayden was awkward enough.
"Actually, I really wanted to talk about Theo spending the night here." The werewolf commented.
"Liam!" Theo protested.
"You better shut up and let me talk." The beta demanded. It was for Theo's own good.
"Liam, don't talk like that to your boyfriend." Jenna scolded.
"He is being stupid!" The young boy ranted.
"Even If you're dating a boy, you should still be a gentleman, Liam." David added.
"That I've to agree with." Theo stated..
"Excuse me, I'm trying to be a gentleman here and not letting you pass the night on the streets." Liam retorted.
"On the streets?" David asked.
"Aperrently, since he came back from the deads, Theo had been homeless." The werewolf informed, the information dragged worried looks on his parents' faces
"Why didn't you tell us before?" Jenna asked.
"Cause I had to find out by myself last night." Liam declared. "Bet if I hadn't found his stuff on the truck, he wouldn't ever tell me."
"I wouldn't because my situation it's getting better." Theo stated once again. "Soon, I will have enough money to pay the rent."
"Till then what do you plan on doing?" Jenna asked.
"My truck is still fine."
"Do you know how dangerous this is?" Jenna scolded him. "A young boy alone at night?"
"Especially if there is a supernatural threat and hunter out there." David pointed out.
"I know how to handle things." The chimera insisted.
"See? He's an idiot." Liam sighed. "I wanted to ask if Theo could..."
"You should stay with us, for as long as you need." Jenna suggested.
"I can't." The chimera declared.
"We have an extra room in the house." David said. "You could have your own space."
"We know how much you have done for our son, let us retrieve the favor." Jenna asked.
"Please." Liam said, holding Theo's arm making sure he wouldn't escape.h
Theo looked at him slightly annoyed at first but then his eyes softened. Liam knew the older boy wasn't used to being welcomed with open arms, he had a rough childhood even before he was turned into a chimera. But Liam was willing to make things change for Theo and make him feel loved.
"Fine." He finally gave in.
"You're not running away that easily." Liam declared.
"From you? I would never."
"I hate to ruin the cute moment, but we need to establish some house rules." Jenna announced. "Especially with you two dating."
"Nope, I'm not listening to that, now." Liam retorted, stepping out of the couch and taking Theo by the hand guiding him back to his room upstairs.
"Don't try running away, Liam!" They heard Jenna yelling.
"You know, you need to go back there to get the waffles, right?" Theo asked.
"Can't we just stay here alone for a while?" The werewolf tried giving his puppy eyes.
"No, I'm hungry."
"Maybe later." Liam suggested.
"I took two bullets for you." The chimera remarked.
"Now, you're gonna hold that against me." The beta bitted his lips to contain a laughter.
"Think I deserve to eat after all that."
"Fine." Liam gave in. Who was he to deny food to boy who saved his life multiple times?
When the werewolf return to his room with the plate of waffles on his hand he found Theo smiling seated on the bed. How gorgeous he looked when he smiled.
"What are you smiling?" Liam asked, curious.
"My wound is healed." Theo said lifting his hoodie, the bandage and the wounds faded.
