Work Text:
The 118’s resident Dalmatian — their probie Buck — has been in a terrible mood over the past couple of weeks. He does his job just fine, but the atmosphere around the station is tense; no one knows what to do about it, and Buck’s remarkably tight-lipped about whatever’s bothering him.
Hen’s instantly on edge when a stranger walks into the station wearing army clothes and his left arm in a sling. She raises her eyebrows when he asks for an Evan Buckley.
“Eddie?” Buck’s voice sounds both heartbroken and ecstatic.
And then he's pulling the stranger into a bruising hug.
Eddie hisses in pain; Hen winces sympathetically. Buck tries to pull away at the sound, but Eddie immediately pulls him back into the same tight hug. They exchange quiet words that Hen can’t hear. Their hug’s followed by an equally bruising kiss, Buck cupping Eddie’s jaw with gentle hands.
Hen glances at Chim and raises her eyebrows. Chim’s eyes flicker toward them, then back at her in reply.
"Guys," Buck turns to them with teary eyes when he and Eddie pull away, “this is my husband, Eddie.”
Hen’s jaw drops; Chim has a similar expression on his face.
Their probie’s married?
