Calla was back in Leana’s tattoo parlor, half smoked cigarette dangling from her fingers, as her right hand carried a basket, filled with crusty baguettes and fresh rolls.
“Bread delivery!” she called out, a smile on her lips.
Leanna scoffed as she emerged from the back, “Calla, you’re next door. It’s barely a delivery. What do you want this time?”
Calla took a breath of her cigarette, puffing smoke into the air, “Tiger stripes.”
Leanna stared at her, since she knew full well that under the chequered shirt and black jeans, Calla’s whole body was a mass of stripes, with a large tiger emblazoned on her chest.
As she sniggered, Calla tilted her head to the left, “On my face. Two under each eye.”
Leanna sighed, “You’re bloody lucky you’re a cute baker.”
“I’m also the best baker in the whole City.”
Leanna’s gaze fell pointedly to Calla’s cigarette, “And the least hygienic.”
“You love me really.”
Calla sat down in the artist’s chair, dwarfed by the size of it. The basket of baked goods was discarded on the floor, left idly beside the table.
Leanne chuckled, and placed a kiss on Calla’s forehead, “If I didn’t, you would not be so stripey, little tiger,”
“And that would be a tragedy,” Calla dropped the cigarette to the floor, Leanna instinctively crushing it under her boot, but she nodded her agreement.
“You really are lucky that I love you.”
Calla just smiled.
