Work Text:
Although Grace can comprehend fluent Eridian, the words he can speak without his keyboard are limited by his single set of vocal chords. To make it seem realistic, we limited him to less than 200 words - about the same vocabulary as a two year old. All the words he can say are simple, non-compound words, and as stated in the book, "the oldest words in a language are usually the shortest."
