Summary
Hermione Granger expects many things when she begins volunteering for the Ministry’s magical literacy program.
Draco Malfoy’s son is not one of them.
Quiet, observant, and far too wise for a seven-year-old, Scorpius Malfoy reminds Hermione of a past she thought she had buried for good. Drawn into the boy’s life one careful moment at a time, she finds herself slowly orbiting a world filled with quiet grief, old magic, and a version of Draco Malfoy she no longer recognizes.
The sharp-edged boy she once knew has become something else entirely: a widower, a father, and a man carrying loneliness like a second skin.
Love is not always loud. Sometimes it lives in the smallest things - a warmed chair, a cup of jasmine tea, the steady presence of someone who notices every piece of you without ever asking to be seen in return.
But rebuilding a life is not the same thing as surviving one, and both Draco and Hermione must decide if they are truly capable of letting themselves be loved after everything they have lost.
