Summary
Light Yagami, only son of one of the most powerful lords in the realm, is admired by everyone and known by no one. His father has long worried over his solitude, though Light insists he has no need for friends.
When an accident leaves the household short-staffed, Lord Yagami borrows a servant from an allied estate, an eccentric young butler called L, whose manners are abysmal, whose habits are appalling, and whose intelligence is sharp enough to make Light feel, for the first time in years, awake.
