he introduced himself softly – simply, without fanfare. Gustave looked into his open, unguarded face and weighed the moment. He had to admit to himself, almost immediately, that he had already lost. There was nothing left to weigh – not really, at any rate. Not if he was honest with himself.

He observed a brief flicker on Verso’s lips, watching as the man’s mouth formed his name – almost tentatively, as if he wanted to know how it tasted upon his tongue.
“I would like to learn more about your magic. And then show you more of mine.”Paris, 1905: In a city defined by secrets, decay, and dangerous narrow-mindedness, Gustave, a toymaker, meets Verso, a pianist, at a chamber concert.
Confronted with Gustave's deep-seated fears from his past, the homophobic vice squad, and crushing expectations, the two men struggle desperately to remain true to their heart's desires - even as the world around them closes in ever tighter.Content Warning: The depiction of violence and sex is mostly graphic. Please mind the tags. Sexual violence will not be romanticized. The dove is damn dead!
