   Driver wasn’t going to wait for him to finish what he was hesitating to say. Instead, he b-lined for the door stiffly. He may not understand all social situations, but he knew when the stray was no longer welcome. He knew when it was better to return to his winding streets in silence.
   “I’m sorry,” he uttered at the door, pausing for only a second to make sure Colt heard his parting words.
