Work Text:

“What do you mean you’re leaving me with them?” Hayden whined, grabbing his wife’s hand as she tried to walk toward the front door with Shane. Jackie stared down at the offending hand, chuckling as Shane rolled his eyes.

“Hayden, sweetheart. We’re going to be gone for maybe an hour. We have to grab a few things from the store for dinner. You will be fine with the boys.” Her voice was smooth as honey, using the soft Mom voice she must use with her children when they were scared that Mom was leaving.

“But but…”

“No buts.” Her voice suddenly turned stern, grabbing his hand to remove it from hers. “You have Luca to save you from Ilya. Not like Ilya is ever mean to you off the ice. Now behave.” She turned to look at Shane, who was smiling. “Let’s go Shane.”

“After you.” Shane bowed slightly, chuckling as she walked away. He turned to look at Ilya and Luca, the former who was smirking. “You.” He pointed a finger at the curly haired one. “Be on your best behavior. No funny business got it? And Luca?” Luca looked up, eyes twinkling. “Miss you. Miss you both!” And with that, he strolled out the door behind Jackie, leaving the three men in silence.

Hayden broke the silence after a few minutes with a groan as he spun on his heels, facing Ilya with a scowl. “So, since I’m stuck here with you…” He paused. “What should we do? Watch tv?”

“We can watch the game on the big television.” Luca suggested as Ilya grinned.

“We can watch it in the living room. Come Pike.” Ilya replied as he walked down the hallway toward their communal space. Hayden followed behind Ilya, grumbling that Ilya took larger strides than usual just to speed through the house.

As they reached the living space, Hayden couldn’t help but look down at the wooden crate that was sitting off to the edge of the room. “I didn’t realize that Anya was crate trained.” He asked aloud, walked toward the crate. It was much larger than their canine, almost human sized. It had two doors, one in the front and one in the back. He knelt down, his fingers touched the padding that covered the bottom, his eyes catching the glint of the hooks that were screwed throughout the crate. “This is some crate for a dog. Does Anya escape a lot?”

He turned his head to look over at the two men, suddenly confused at their expressions. Ilya was leaning against the couch, a smug look on his face while Luca was bright red, somewhat embarrassed.

“No, she does not.” Ilya responded smoothly as Hayden stood up, his hand resting on top of the smooth, stained wood. His eyes shifted toward where Luca stood, seeing a second large crate that was partially covered by a blanket.

“Is that another crate? Why does Anya need two large crates?” Hayden suddenly questioned as smirk on Ilya widened.

“Oh, these aren’t Anya’s crates, Pike.” Ilya’s voice stayed calm as Luca’s face blushed harder.

“Then whose are they?” Hayden looked between the two as Luca tried not to make eye contact. His hand moved around on top of the crate, finding a seam and then suddenly a handle for a compartment.

“Wow, Shane wasn’t kidding when he said you don’t put things together.” Luca muttered to himself, causing Ilya to laugh.

“These are Luca’s crate, Pike.”

“Luca’s!” Luca shied away some more as Hayden shouted, staring between the two. “What do you mean this is Luca’s crate?!”

“That.” Ilya took a few steps toward Hayden. “Is the fuck crate.” His voice was low, the smirk still plastered to his lips. “While that one is his safe space.”

Hayden’s brain was spinning. Fuck crate. He knew that Shane, his best friend, was in a poly relationship and was in some kinky shit. But a FUCK CRATE! What does one even do in a fuck crate?! He knew of glory holes, furries, but a crate…

“Hayden, breathe.” Luca was suddenly at his side, fingers pressed into his wrist.

“Yes Pike. We know you’re super vanilla. That you are also probably 14th best lover in Montreal. Poor Jackie.” Ilya teased, causing Hayden to snap out of his spiral. Hayden glared at him before stepping away from the crate.

“I am not vanilla. I can satisfy Jackie just fine!” He defended.

“Prove it.” Ilya challenged.

“Ilya…” Luca warned. “Shane said to behave.”

“I am behaving.” Ilya teased. “I am simply asking Hayden to prove that he isn’t vanilla.”

“And how do you suggest that I do that?” Hayden puffed out his chest a bit, trying to appear larger, more masculine. Luca tried to stifle a laugh.

“Get in the crate.”

“W–what?”

“Get. In. The. Crate.” Ilya grinned as he fingered the compartment on the roof of the crate, popping it open to reveal an assortment of accessories. “You can choose to wear one of these if you wish. Since you are so curious as to what this crate is for.”

“W-what do you mean wear? You’re not going to make me wear a butt plug are you!?”

“Jesus Pike.” “Oh my god Hayden.” The two men said at the same time, Luca shaking his head.

“Hayden, no. That’s unsanitary. And wrong.” Luca reached around Hayden and pulled out a small chest harness, seeing the glint shimmer in Ilya’s eyes. “You can try and wear this. You can put it on over your clothes. Very simple and fitting.” He looked at the curious look in Hayden’s eyes. “We will never make you do something you are not comfortable with doing.”

“But if you’re too scared–” Ilya ribbed, causing the other to grab the harness.

“I am not scared!” Hayden stared at the harness in his hand. “Uh–how do I put this on?”

“Let me help you.” Ilya watched as Luca brought the harness around Hayden's body, tightening it where it needed to be tightened.

Hayden shifted as the straps tightened around his chest. “This feels weird with a shirt on.”

“Then take it off.” Luca suggested, wagging his brows a bit. Hayden looked at him innocently before nodding his head.

Ilya couldn't stop grinning as he watched the two work, sitting himself down on the couch. Luca helped Hayden loosen the straps just enough to take the shirt off from underneath the harness, only to quickly retighten the straps again.

“Better?”

“Uh, yeah, it is.”

“Shane has the same issue. Doesn’t like his clothes bunched up.” Luca had a goofy grin as he looked at his handy work, quickly turning his head to look over at his boyfriend. Ilya gave a subtle nod as Hayden flexed his chest, testing out the harness.

“So what now? I just go in the crate?” Hayden asked, looking down at the large crate.

“Yes, that is generally what someone does.” Ilya piped in from his spot. “As Luca said, you don’t have to Pike.”

“No, no.” Hayden squatted down, staring into the crate. “It’s just…do I crawl in there?”

“Da.” Ilya leaned forward on the couch, his arms leaning on his knees. “How else do you expect to get in there? Teleport?”

“Stop mocking him Ilya.” Luca snapped before looking down at Hayden. “Go at your own pace.” He sat down beside the crate, getting down at his level. “It can be intimidating the first time, but it is so rewarding.”

“Rewarding? How?” This peaked Hayden’s interest.

“You will just have to get inside and find out.” Luca beamed as he watched the other man crawl his way into the crate, his muscles flexing under the leather straps of the harness. Ilya took his chance to quickly stand from the couch to stand behind Luca, quickly locking one side of the crate.

“How do you feel?” Ilya asked, watching as Hayden attempted to sit upright in the crate, only to ultimately sit cross legged with his head hanging low.

“Cramped. How do you sit in this?”

“You don’t.” Luca looked toward the ceiling of the crate at the hooks. “Generally I am on all fours, or face down.”

Hayden’s eyes widened as the thought hit him. “Oh—-OH.” He looked between the two, just as Ilya latched the door shut, locking it. “Hey, I didn’t agree to being locked in here.”

“Oh, you aren’t locked. You are just…experimenting. Right Luca?” Ilya asked, grinning as Luca bit his bottom lip.

“Shane is going to be mad at us.”

“Da, but he is much nicer when he is mad, no?”

“Ugh, I did not need to know this about my best friend.” Hayden groaned as he maneuvered himself around in the crate, trying to attempt to find a more comfortable position.

Eventually the front door opened, the sound of laughter echoing through the front entry way as Shane and Jackie entered the home. Shane could immediately feel that something was different.

“Luca, Ilya…Hayden?” Shane called out as he toed off his shoes, eyeing as he saw Luca pop his head around the corner, a small grin on his face.

“Shane, Jackie! Welcome back!” Luca beamed as he walked toward the two, grabbing the bags from their hands. “The other two are in the living room, watching television.”

“They are?” The two questioned as Luca nodded quickly.

“Yup. They’re getting along splendidly.”

“Luca.” Shane kept his voice low as he walked up to him. “I know when you’re lying. What is going on?” Luca just kept grinning and nodded his head toward the living room, where Jackie was already walking towards. “I swear, if Ilya did somethi–”

“Oh my god! Shane, come here!” Jackie yelled from the other room before her laughter echoed. Luca couldn’t hold in his giggle as Shane sped walk into the living room, not sure what sight he was going to see. He definitely didn’t expect to see Jackie squatting down next to Luca’s fuck crate, with a shirtless Hayden, wearing the harness. “Look Shane. We got a new dog.”

“I am not a dog.” Hayden grumbled as he tried to swat his wife’s hand away.

“Is this what you guys do?” Jackie asked, looking back at Ilya who was lounging on the couch. “How did you even get in there honey?”

“He wanted to see how it worked.” Ilya answered for him before Hayden could open his mouth.

“Liar! You dared me!” Hayden responded, pointing an accusatory finger at Ilya. “You called me a chicken!”

“I did no such thing.” Ilya held his hands up in defense. “I have Luca to speak the truth. I did not call him chicken.”

“It’s true. No chicken was called.” Luca came into the room, now empty handed, wrapping an arm around Shane’s waist. “Hayden was curious about the crate and wanted to see what it was about.”

“You both are liars!” Hayden huffed. “You said I was vanilla and couldn’t satisfy Jackie and had to prove it by getting into the crate. And then you locked me in here.”

“I kind of like it.” Jackie ran her fingers along the wooden frame. “What are those hooks for at the top there?” She turned her head away from her husband to look at the three boyfriends, watching as Luca and Shane blushed furiously.

“Those are for the leash, or restraints. Whatever mood we’re in.” Ilya piped in.

“Oh, I really like it. Shane, text me where you guys bought this.”

“Jackie!” Hayden howled.

“What? We are kind of vanilla. This would definitely spice up our sex life.” She stood up, stretching her legs. “So, shall we leave him here while we cook dinner?” Ilya grinned as he stood up from the couch, holding out his hand for Jackie to grab.

“JACKIE COME ON!”
