Summary
It's been six months since Nicky's death, and his mothers grieve in different ways. Rio spends her time looking through countless pictures, remembering better times. She slowly feels ready to move on, at least as much as one can after such a tragedy. Agatha thinks it's bullshit. She skips therapy and lets her job take all her time, doesn't want to look at the pictures, and hasn't been in Nicky's room since his death, forbidding Rio from moving any of his things.
One evening Agatha simply packs her bag, and after another argument with Rio, she leaves. The house is no longer a home, slowly suffocating her. She keeps seeing Nicky's features every time she looks at her wife's face. The last words she ever spoke to him keep ringing in her ears.
She gets in the car and drives away. She doesn't know where she's headed, but the journey she embarks on may be the one leading her towards healing. Such roads are rarely easy, though.~ Inspired by songs from the Redwood musical ~
