Work Text:
“Late September in the city
The sky is grey, the air is sticky
Clinically hypoxic, literally toxic
I keep falling in and out of sleep
All flesh is grass
The flies are knockin' on the glass
And a brittle, crystalline, metal-flavoured nerve tonic
From a medical flask”
New Jersey is filled with factories causing grey smog to fill the skies, so Wilson never questioned why his water tasted like metal. Little did he know that the metal tasting water was not the city’s doing.
Ever since House started to date Wilson he started to slip in some poison in his water. And when they would both come home he would figure out a way to give him the antidote. After all Wilson was his man.
“I need him so much that it hurts
I wish he didn't have to go to work
And I'll just lie and watch the ceiling fan turn”
House did this because he wanted Wilson to believe that without House he feels sick. But when he would get the antidote at home it must mean the younger man felt at bliss with the older man. It was a genius plan, House after all was a genius, even Wilson knew as such. House just wanted to keep Wilson for himself, and he wanted Wilson to give that same obsession right back.
“I'm your man, we're hand in hand
To hell and back
And I'll love you like nobody else can
I'm your man (He's my man), I've been damned
No, nobody has to understand”
Wilson was House’s man, every time they were out of the Hospital they would walk hand in hand. To be clear the two men loved each other to hell and back.
If anybody knew what House was doing to Wilson they wouldn’t understand. They wouldn’t love Wilson like the Diagnostician could, Wilson’s ex wives and ex girlfriends proved that.
“I stay home and make his dinner
Even though somehow he keeps gettin' thinner
I wait, watchin' the washing machine spin 'round and 'round again”
“I need him so much that it hurts
I wish he didn't have to go to work
He keeps complainin' that his vision's blurred”
House needed Wilson to the point that his heart would ache for the younger man. He couldn’t help it. So every time House was in his office he would find himself thinking of Wilson once again. House hated coming to work, he wished Wilson felt the same, that way he would have Wilson all to himself. That way he wouldn’t have to share Wilson with the Oncologist’s patients.
Wilson would often complain about blurred vision and House observed him getting thinner even though they would eat lunch together at the Hospital’s cafeteria.
“But he's my man, we're hand in hand
To hell and back
And I'll love him like nobody else can
He's my man (I'm your man), I've been damned
No, nobody has to understand
Me and my man
Me and my man”
“He keeps havin' feverish dreams
That he can never, ever leave
He wakes, head aches, funny taste to his tea
I want to stay here forever
He's happiest with me
'Cause he”
“He's my man
And I'll love him like nobody else can
He's my man, he's gone quite mad
No, nobody has to understand
Me and my man”
Wilson would notice a funny taste in his water and eventually he got suspicious. The younger man finally found out that he was being poisoned, but shockingly he didn’t care. As long as he was still with House it didn’t matter to him. Wilson loved House like nobody else could, nobody could love nor accept House’s madness as much as Wilson could. So as time went on, Wilson played into the role, he allowed himself to be poisoned and allowed House to think that he didn’t know. But in reality the Oncologist did know, but he didn’t mind because House was his man.
He was happiest with House even though it was the antidote that was making him feel that way. Wilson had gone mad, he didn’t want to leave House, he loved the crazy man unconditionally.
