“…So you gotta tell me baby girl,” Jack asked, “What’s going on?”
Her mouth opened, as if she was going to say something, before faltering and she closed it again.
“Go on sweetheart, you can tell me. Whatever it is.” He said, kindly, supporting her words.
”W-w-will you still like me if i have a bad day?” She mumbled, tears beginning to form in her dark brown eyes, threatening escape.
The words hit Jack like a punch, small, soft, and devastating. It broke his heart. He wasn’t sure what he had expected, but this wasn’t it.
