    There is a house with a room, windowless with the door left locked forever. Look through the keyhole and into the diorama of two entangled men, watch how they move and permute proximity. We called it bassa danza, the old Renaissance dance, a slow walking process in which jealousy and possession moves. Distance shifts, but they are never apart.

    It cannot be helped; there is no way out. It was always too late to turn back.
