A Shattered Ruby

Summary:

Sans and Papyrus were just trying to have dinner.

They didn't expect things to blow up (literally).

Now they have a destroyed machine and a young babybone that they suspect as a Shifter. Where did they come from? And who's life privilege they need to remove? Because this babybone is clearly been abused or worse. Now then, where's that parenting books Sans been storing since Papyrus a babybones, he's definitely need a review if they want to keep the kid from getting killed.

At least the kid's adorable...

Notes:

So! I've made a Fell version of my ArcalithTale AU! Enjoy!

P.S. please don't expect a steady update for this one, things have been hectic lately

Chapter 1: Arc I: Prologue

Chapter Text

The fire came in silence.

It began as a whisper, a thread of smoke curling beneath the heavy doors of Potter Manor, almost timid, almost shy. Then came the crackle, the low hiss of flame biting into fabric. Curtains shriveled into blackened husks, carpets curled and split, stairwells wept sparks that clung like dying stars.

The wards hummed in protest, ancient defenses woven into the bones of the house, but they faltered against this blaze. This was no common fire. It carried purpose, malice, a cruel intelligence carved into every ember. Someone had laced it with spellcraft, feeding it hunger and spite. It ate not only wood and plaster, but stone, memory, and home.

Upstairs, a small boy stirred.

Hadrian “Harry” Potter woke coughing, his throat raw as smoke scraped down his lungs. Heat pressed in from all sides. His blanket, frayed with holes and patched more times than he could count, clung uselessly to his skin. Tiny hands clawed at it as his wide green eyes blurred with tears.

He was five years old.

His parents, James and Lily, were not here. Hours ago, they had gone into town with his twin sister Rose, the Girl-Who-Lived, the miracle, the darling of the wizarding world. They had left Harry behind, as always. Forgotten. Overlooked. A quiet shadow in a house that no longer remembered he belonged to it.

Now, in his lonely room, Harry sat frozen. Flames climbed the walls like predators. His body trembled, but deep within him something greater stirred. His magic, wild and raw, flared in desperate defiance. Not the ordered flick of wands, not the rehearsed charm of spellbooks, but instinct, primal and furious.

His SOUL screamed.

Not yet.

Not like this.

Not to fade.

Not to break.

“I… don’t… want to die.” rasped the child as his last words.

The words ripped from him, broken by smoke, barely more than a whimper. Heat seared his skin. His small frame blistered, lungs heaving in ragged sobs. He should have burned to nothing. He should have turned to ash, another casualty swallowed by the fire.

But something else stirred.

Beneath the surface of his soul, tangled in his very being, lay a foreign fragment. A sliver not his own. Dark. Poisonous. Voldemort’s remnant, clinging like a parasite since that cursed night. For years it had waited, silent, festering. Now, the fire touched it, and the shard flared.

The two forces met, smoke and shadow, flame and parasite, and in their collision came a convergence.

A catalyst.

Harry’s soul folded inward, collapsing and reforming under pressure no child should have endured. Magic shrieked within him, imploding, mutating, clawing against the very structure of flesh. Skin blistered, then split. Bone rose where blood failed. Where human weakness ended, raw Determination surged forward, reshaping him, dragging him past death into something utterly other.

Hadrian James Potter, the neglected child, the unwanted 'squib'… died.

And something else was born.

A skeleton child, small and fragile. His eye sockets flickered with faint red lights, unsteady but burning.

The manor crumbled. The blaze devoured everything. By the time the Aurors and neighbors arrived, nothing remained but smoking rubble and a few blackened bones. Enough to mark Harry Potter as dead, gone in tragedy, another life claimed by senseless cruelty.

But Harry was not there.

His magic, unstable and feral, lashed out one last time. It clawed at the seams of reality itself, dragging fabric against fabric until it tore. A rift yawned wide, jagged and violet, pulling fire and smoke into its teeth. The skeleton child, limp and unconscious, was swallowed by the dark.

When he next opened his eyes, it was not to fire, nor to the world above.

It was to darkness. Stone. The Underground. And two figures staring down at him with suspicion burning in their sockets.

Hadrian Potter was gone.

But the Underground, even in this brutal, bloodstained timeline, had gained a new child.

And somewhere, far above, the schemes of Albus Dumbledore burned to ash alongside the ruins of Potter Manor.
