Shen Yuan thudded his head back on the pillow, staring upwards at the roof of the car. The feeling of tension was distinctly uncomfortable, especially when he was supposed to be asleep. He reassured himself with the thought that if someone were to break in, or a true sea monster were to slither 850 miles to their location, it would definitely eat Xiang Fei first.
But this conscious resolution did little to soothe the ache in his chest: what was the point of a journey, if you just got eaten by a sea monster at the end?
The day after college graduation, Xiang Fei proposes a road trip to the beach. Shen Yuan, of course, comes along.
