MASON / HAYDEN / SCOTT PACK: (Mentioned/Background context).
INT. BEACON HILLS SHERIFF STATION - NIGHT
THEO RAEKEN paces the length of his holding cell. He’s bored, tossing a small, bruised raspberry up in the air and catching it. It’s a miracle he even managed to keep a small stash of berries in here, but he has his ways.
Suddenly, a loud, clumsy THUD echoes from the front lobby, followed by a soft, pathetic whine.
Theo frowns, walking up to the bars.
Through the frosted glass doors, a disheveled LIAM DUNBAR stumbles into the cellblock area. His usually adorable, sunshiny face is clouded over with dark under-eye circles. The freckles scattered across his cheeks look pale. He hasn’t slept in days, he’s been getting bullied at school, his girlfriend Hayden is getting on his nerves, and he is grumpy.
Liam takes three steps, misses his own footing, and TRIPS spectacularly over a stray janitor's bucket.
He hits the floor hard.
LIAM
(Muffled, miserable)
Ow...
Liam sits up, clutching his face. Blood begins to drip rapidly from his nose, staining his shirt. The innocent, puppy-like exterior completely crumbles, and big tears well up in his eyes. He starts crying, purely exhausted and overwhelmed.
THEO
(Eyes wide, alarmed)
Liam?! What the hell are you doing here? Why aren't you at Scott’s house? Or at home with Jenna and your stepdad?
Liam just sobs, wiping at his bloody nose, smearing red across his cheek.
LIAM
(Grumbling, sobbing)
Everyone's annoying. I'm hungry. I can’t sleep. Scott's pack is loud. Hayden won't stop talking. I just wanted... I don't know!
THEO
You came to a police station because you're hungry and tired?
Theo looks at the blood dripping down Liam's chin. His werewolf instincts flare up—he can't stand seeing the kid bleed. Theo looks at the cell lock, focuses his strength, and with a loud CRACK, shears the supernatural structural integrity of the bars, pushing the door open. He breaks out of jail without a second thought.
