Summary
Liam was usually an adorable, freckle-faced puppy of sunshine, but tonight he was a sleep-deprived, starving, and incredibly grumpy werewolf. Despite having a loving family, his girlfriend Hayden, his best friend Mason, and the entire Scott McCall pack behind him, Liam somehow wandered into the police station—exhausted, clumsy, and completely oblivious.
Locked in his cell and dying of boredom, Theo Raeken was deeply confused to see the younger wolf. Before Theo could ask why he wasn't safe at Scott's, Liam tripped, crashed to the floor, and began crying from a painful bloody nose.
Panicked and protective, Theo broke right out of his jail cell. As Liam kicked, yelled, and threw grumpy punches, Theo scooped him into his arms. To quiet him down, Theo stuffed Liam’s favorite treat—fresh raspberries—into his mouth, successfully distracting the moody beta.
Theo carried him back to his apartment, changed Liam into soft puppy pajamas, and handed him a huggable stuffed monkey. He placed a pacifier in Liam's mouth to soothe him and turned on a comforting moon nightlight.
"Sleep, little wolf," Theo whispered, secretly kissing Liam's freckled cheek before heading out to crash on the couch.
