Chapter Text

"My Queen." The dark haired knight knelt to Shan. "It is my honour to serve you."

There had been a few rumours about this particular knight.

Some said he was a spy.

Some said hunter of those who resided in the darkness.

One called him a traitor.

The only thing Shan knew for certain was that this knight had unquestionably always put his kingdom first. No matter the cost. It was kingdom and the crown before everyone and everything else. Even where he had previously ran from.

She didn't know exactly who he was or where he had come from but that was not relevant.

This knight would serve his kingdom to the very end.

"My King." One of the knights gave Cam a nervous wave as he paced back and forth.

Why was he king

He was so unqualified.

Why was he king-

He was a mess...

Why was he king?!

Oh god-

Whywashekingwhywashekingwhyhekingwhywashekingwhywashekingwhywasheking?

The thoughts kept swiriling around his head but he took a deep breath.

In and out.

Just like he'd been taught.

Because his family had never wanted anyone to know about his crippling anxiety.

Cam exhaled.

And he turned to face the knights.

"Lady Katie, Ser Bek or House Yamon..." The knight who had waved at him earlier "Sir Pyroscythe."

Each bowed appropriately.

"We have two new members of our kingdom for... a bit. Apo the moon knight of Soluna and Princess Cherri of Soluna. Please... Make them feel welcome."

The knight from earlier, Sir Pyroscythe- smiled at Cam.

Katie and Bek began to leave but Cam stopped the other knight- Pyro....? Was that his name?

"Pyroscythe...?"
"Yes, My king?"
"The blue kingdom have a new knight. I would, like you to go talk to him. Clear the air a bit with them..."
"I can do that, my king!" They smiled.

And the red kingdom knight, happily walked off.
