not just another hotel room

Summary:

Kyouji's spent a lot of time in hotels over the years—working in them, sleeping in them. Hell, he's managed more than a few of them for Kumicho.

None of them have ever fascinated him like this one, though to be fair, it's not so much the room he's looking at.

"So?" he asks, watching as Satomi turns from the window. The late morning light off the snow is bright, and it catches in Satomi's hair.

Or, Kyouji and Satomi go on their honeymoon.

Work Text:

Kyouji's spent a lot of time in hotels over the years—working in them, sleeping in them. Hell, he's managed more than a few of them for Kumicho.

None of them have ever fascinated him like this one, though to be fair, it's not so much the room he's looking at.

"So?" he asks, watching as Satomi turns from the window. The late morning light off the snow is bright, and it catches in Satomi's hair.

It catches off the brand new wedding ring on his hand, too. Kyouji has to tear his gaze away from it to stop from staring, and he flexes his own fingers just to feel the warm gold on his own hand.

"You spent way too much," Satomi says, annoyed, and Kyouji doesn't resist the urge to throw his head back and laugh.

Most people would be tripping all over themselves to compliment the luxury suite he'd rented for them. Satomi sure is something else. Kyouji wouldn't want him any other way.

It's too fun spoiling him.

Satomi pushes away from the view of the snow and the mountains outside the hotel. He'd said he wanted to learn how to ski, and Kyouji's looking forward to seeing him all bundled up, his cheeks red with the cold.

First, though—first, he wants to stand here in this swanky hotel room and watch his new husband pretend to be nonchalant. Satomi has a way of making everything feel new.

"C'mere," he says, and for a wonder, Satomi does, walking straight into his outstretched arms. He nestles in against Kyouji's chest like he belongs there.

He presses his cheek to Kyouji's shoulder, and Kyouji thinks he might just die right there from the cuteness of it. His Satomi's a feisty little thing, always has his claws out, but sometimes he's the sweetest thing Kyouji's ever seen.

"I gave you a budget," Satomi mumbles, and Kyouji runs a hand up and down his back. For the most part, he tries to let Satomi run the show as much as he can, but sometimes—

Sometimes he just can't resist.

"Satomi-kun," he whines. It's not like he can't afford it. "It's our honeymoon. How can you expect me to stick to a budget?"

And besides. Kyouji knows what's waiting for them when they leave this little paradise—the beautiful snow-capped mountains outside the window and the warm, elegant room around them. There's a reason they'd had a little court house wedding without a single member of Satomi's family in attendance. Only Mana and Maruyama had been there as witnesses. He knows Satomi hopes his family will come around, but—

Well. He'd tried to convince himself he should break Satomi's heart, told himself it was for Satomi's own good, but Satomi's also the stubbornest thing he's ever seen. He'd latched those little claws into Kyouji and decided he wasn't letting go.

Kyouji just doesn't have it in him to oppose him.

The rumble of Satomi's stomach beaks the silence, and Kyouji's glad to have something to focus on. Some other way to spoil Satomi. He tugs Satomi towards the massive bed and sits, tugging Satomi into his lap.

"Here," he says, handing Satomi the menu sitting on the bedside table. He wraps his other arm around Satomi's waist. "Let's have lunch before we check out the slopes. Gotta make sure my Satomi-kun doesn't starve to death."

Satomi rolls his eyes, but he takes the menu without hesitation.

"I want katsudon," Satomi says, and Kyouji hums his agreement. "And can we try their tempura, too?"

There's another rumble from Satomi's stomach, and while he continues to peruse the menu, Kyouji reaches out to grab the little chocolate mint that's lying on the pillow. He peels the foil off one-handed and then holds it up to Satomi's mouth.

Satomi flicks him a glance but doesn't argue, opening his mouth so Kyouji can press the chocolate in. His fingertips brush against Satomi's tongue, and he lets them linger there for a moment before pulling back. Satomi chews carefully, thoughtfully, and the little sound of contentment he makes goes straight to Kyouji's dick.

Kyouji makes a few selections of his own from the menu, mostly things he knows Satomi will like. By the time he calls and puts in the order for room service, Satomi is frowning.

"That's way too much food. We're never going to get through it all," he says. He looks guilty. "You didn't have to order the tempura."

Kyouji just raises one eyebrow as Satomi's stomach rumbles again, and Satomi sighs an admission.

Wrapping his other arm around Satomi's waist, Kyouji stands, bringing Satomi with him. Satomi gives a slight squeak and wraps his arms around Kyouji's neck.

"What are you doing?" he demands.

"I saw a nice big tub in bathroom," Kyoui says easily. "With jets and all that fancy stuff. You should relax while they make the food."

Satomi's arms tighten around Kyouji's neck as they move across the suite. "Will you join me?" he asks.

"Gotta listen for the food," Kyouji points out.

"You can listen from the bathroom," Satomi says. Then he brings out the big guns, as if Kyouji really needs any more convincing. "Please, Kyouji-san?"

Kyouji shakes his head fondly. "Okay, Satomi-kun, sure. I'd be happy to join you."

He puts Satomi down in the bathroom, Satomi's arms reluctantly loosening from around his neck. He turns on the water, making sure the temperature isn't too hot, then turns back to find Satomi watching him.

The look in his eyes—

Satomi looks content. He looks happy, standing here in this hotel suite, water running for a bath and food on the way. He looks happy, with Kyouji standing near enough to touch in the suit he'd worn to the courthouse.

"How'd I get so lucky, huh, Satomi-kun?" he asks, and Satomi, being Satomi, just shrugs.

"Guess you did something okay," he says, and Kyouji wants to bark out a laugh, because the things that he's done in his life that are good or okay can be counted on one hand. There'll even be fingers left over.

"Guess so," he says with a smile.

There's silence for a minute while Kyouji's hands go to the tie around Satomi's neck, picking apart the knot. Then—

"Kyouji-san?" Satomi asks.

"Yeah, kid?"

"I'm lucky too," he says, and Kyouji thinks his heart might just stop. "You know that, right? I know I pushed you to marry me, but—"

"Hey," Kyouji says. "Satomi-kun. You didn't push anything. You think I don't want you? You think I haven't dreamed about keeping you to myself for years?"

The tie slides from around Satomi's neck, and something seems to loosen in his shoulders, too.

"You're everything I want, kid," Kyouji says, and it's true, even though it shouldn't be. Even though he should have found a way to set Satomi free.

"Okay," Satomi says, and starts to unbutton his shirt. "You—you're everything I want too, Kyouji-san."

The tub is almost full. Kyouji turns to shut off the tap, tests the water to make sure it's still okay. It gives him a moment to gather himself.

When he turns back, Satomi's shirt is off and he's working on his trousers.

"You better hurry up," Satomi says. "Or I'm going to take this bath alone."

Kyouji grins. "Don't you worry, Satomi-kun," he says. "I married you, didn't I? You're never going to be alone as long as I'm here."
