Summary
At sunrise on a summer day, with skies that are threatening rain, the first thing Shane Hollander ever says to his new husband is: "Ilya Rozanov. Hello. I'm Shane Hollander."
There's silence for a long moment as Rozanov looks him up and down before lingering on the hand Shane is stretching out to him. Rozanov's fingers twitch as his side like he wants to be holding something, but finally, he clears his throat and takes Shane's hand in a brief shake.
"Yes," is all he says.
Or, Shane and Ilya get married for the good of hockey.

Summary
When Ochako slips into the abandoned building on the outskirts of Musutafu, she's greeted by a needle-shaped knife slamming into the wood beside her.
A giggle echoes from further within.
"One day you're going to actually hit me, you know," Ochako says. Himiko's only response—naturally—is to throw another knife. This time, Ochako reaches out to graze the hilt with the tip of one finger and float it to a lazy stop.
Or, Ochako sneaks out to see her girlfriend.

Summary
"That's it, Satomi-kun," Kyouji says slyly, rubbing one hand up and down Satomi's bare thigh. "Keep going."
Satomi's fingers stutter to a stop around himself, squeezing under the head of his cock. He turns just enough where he's sitting on Kyouji's lap to give him a good, withering glare. "Why don't you do it if you have so many opinions about it?" he bites out. He uses his own hand more than enough when he's alone. Why is he doing it now when Kyouji is right here?
Kyouji chuckles. "But then I wouldn't get to see how my Satomi-kun likes it. I need to know how to keep up with you. You're gonna wear me out."
Or, Kyouji wants to see what Satomi likes.

Summary
It's so late it's dawn when Hawks finally manages to call.
"Hey, big guy," he says as he flickers onto the screen of Enji's phone. He looks tired, dark circles under his eyes and a furrow on his brow. The recent villain outbreak in Kyushu is taking its toll.
"Hawks," Enji says. The blankets of his bed are pulled over his lap, paperwork for Endeavor Agency's most recent recovery operation scattered over it. "Why aren't you asleep?"
Or, Hawks calls Enji while he's away.

Summary
The chains are too short to allow him much freedom of movement, but if he kneels just right, he can hide the long, chafing marks left on his wrists by the cuffs. He keeps them turned and tucked tight against the small of his back where Jun Wu won't be able to see them as he enters the throne room.
There is, unfortunately, no hiding the chafing around his neck, where the shackle jolts him every time he moves too much.
"Oh Xianle," Jun Wu sighs, his eyes going to the angry red marks around Xie Lian's neck. If he sat quietly and waited, as Jun Wu had told him he should, his neck would be smooth and unmarked. "I really wish you wouldn't."
Or, Jun Wu wants only one thing. Xie Lian refuses to give it to him.

Summary
"For the tenth time," Edgin says, "I am not sick."
Xenk doesn't look up from where he's brewing some concoction in Edgin's kitchen. It looks—quite frankly—terrifying. It's green. Edgin's pretty sure it shouldn't be green, though actually, he's not really sure what colour it should be either.
"It is the eleventh time, and you are, as you would say, quite under the weather," Xenk says evenly, which would be utterly adorable if he wasn't, you know, calling Edgin a liar.
Or, Edgin is not sick. (He's sick.)

Summary
"Hey, Rodney," John says. He has to grin when Rodney startles, half jumping out of his chair in the control room before setting back down with a glower.
In apology, he sets down one of the two mugs he's carrying on the edge of Rodney's desk.
Rodney turns his glower to the mug. "Is that coffee?" he demands. "It better be coffee, because I haven't had one in thirty-five minutes and I'm about to pass out. Do you have any idea how much paperwork I still have to finish from that last mission?"
Or, John brings Rodney a treat.

It turns out it was a really bad idea.
"This was a really bad idea," Lan Jingyi says as the sun begins to peek above the horizon.
Jin Ling stares at him in disbelief. "What do you mean it was a bad idea?" he demands, outraged. "You don't get to say that! It was your idea!"
"And you went along with it!" Lan Jingyi says, pointing an accusing finger at him. "Why would you do that? That was such a bad idea!"
The Juniors (and Little Apple) find themselves in a bit of a scrape.

Summary
Kyouji's spent a lot of time in hotels over the years—working in them, sleeping in them. Hell, he's managed more than a few of them for Kumicho.
None of them have ever fascinated him like this one, though to be fair, it's not so much the room he's looking at.
"So?" he asks, watching as Satomi turns from the window. The late morning light off the snow is bright, and it catches in Satomi's hair.
Or, Kyouji and Satomi go on their honeymoon.

Summary
In the mortal realm, a storm is building with uncomfortable stillness. Watching from the Emperor's chambers in the Palace of Divine Might, Xie Lian feels almost nauseous with it.
It takes Jun Wu a few tries to get his attention.
"Ah, Xianle," the Emperor says with a fond smile and a shake of his head. "I might almost start to think that you didn't want this marriage after all."
Or, Jun Wu makes Xie Lian a deal.

"Hey!" Ejirou says. He can feel the outrage bubbling up in his chest. "I've saved your life like a dozen times today, and it isn't even noon! How are you still such an ungrateful little—"
"And I've just saved the whole precinct," Monoma interrupts smugly, dusting off his hands where he's crouching beside the explosive. As if from a distance, Ejirou hears silence from the snipers; the pro heroes must have finally taken them down. "Which means I win."
Ejirou stares at him. "Since when did this become a competition? We're supposed to be working together."
Or, Kirishima and Monoma are assigned to team up.

Summary
Hawks's whole body stiffens, now. It makes the fingerprints left behind in the divots of his hips pull tight. He doesn't think about them much, most days. They never really go away, after all, and he's long learned how to adjust for them with every move he makes. It's second nature.
It's not like he can be useful, otherwise—on the field or elsewhere. There's never any telling when someone will call him.
Hawks knows what happens to useless things.
Or, Hawks and Lady Nagant have a talk.

Summary
The cicada wings on Maomao's wrist flutter.
For a moment, she wonders if she's imagined it, but no. They flutter again, tickling against her pulse—not much, but enough to make her start. It's been months since she felt those wings move. Only the cicada's vibrant colour has kept her company in the meantime.
She tries to focus on the task at hand, but apparently she's focusing too hard, judging by the irritable sound Doctor Li makes.
"You're going to crush that into powder," he grumbles.
Or, Shisui returns to Li.

Summary
Himiko thinks she might actually die of boredom.
Prison, it turns out, is kind of terrible. There's nothing to do here. There's four walls and a little bed and a bathroom with a shower barely big enough to squeeze into. The most exciting way to pass the time that isn't sleeping or thinking about her friends or imagining how to get out of here is to lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling. She's not even allowed any visitors, on account of the whole able to turn into anyone she can steal blood from thing.
She's too much of a "security risk."
Or, Class 1-A breaks Toga out of prison.

"I'm supposed to be your bodyguard, not your date," Jyn says, feeling a little lost. "Mon Mothma told me—"
"Being my date will make that easier," Leia says easily. Her fingers skim the collar of Jyn's dress, straightening it, and Jyn feels very, very aware of her exposed back and shoulders. "Bodyguards make people careful. Dates make them reckless."
"There's nowhere to hide a blaster," Jyn protests.
Or, Jyn guards Leia—as her date.

The cell is cold and dark and somewhere underground. Enji can do something to help with the first two without much effort, of course. There's less he can do about the third for the moment, given the locked door and the fire-proof wards woven into the walls.
"Fancy seeing you here," Hawks drawls from one corner, and Enji sighs.
Well, at least he's in the right place.
Or, Hawks is captured. Enji tries to rescue him.

Summary
Kumicho watches him for a long moment, takes another long drag of his cigarette. Finally, he reaches out to drape an arm over Satomi's shoulder, pulling him in closer.
He smells like cologne and cigars—the same kind of cigars Kyouji sometimes likes to smoke. Satomi figures Kyouji had to have picked up the habit from someone.
"Well don't you look every inch the bereaved young boyfriend," Kumicho says, which is—well, it's kinder than some of the things Satomi's heard over the years, though not from Kumicho. Kyouji'd almost gotten into more than one fight about it before Satomi told him in no uncertain terms that he didn't care.
Or, Kyouji fakes his death. Satomi attends his funeral.

Summary
Mu Qing curses under his breath the whole way to his command tent.
"Are you serious right now?" he hisses once he's stormed inside, letting the tent flap fall closed behind him.
Feng Xin, rather predictably, is sitting on his cot with his arms crossed. He scowls. "You haven't been answering my messages," he says. "And I couldn't exactly tell your soldiers that General Nan Yang had come for a visit. They'd probably think I was here to assassinate you and steal your command."
Or, Mu Qing decides to claim his prize.
