Chapter Text

After our first kiss... something in my brain immediately flipped. Like before, everything was normal. We acted how every other best friend acts with their best friend! But then.. we kissed. And suddenly, every love movie I've ever seen starts playing in my head all at the same time whenever I interact with him, but instead of it being the characters from the movies, it’s me and Kevin. Which is probably concerning. Or romantic. Maybe both? Anyways, I’m always the guy who realizes, "Oh no… This person is the one for me." Which is probably, no wait, definitely dramatic, but at the same time though… Every great romance was dramatic at first… Well, at least I think so? That's how movies work at least! And movies wouldn't lie to us. Actually, the more that I think about it, a lot of movies lie to us. That's kind of their thing... But still!

I keep wanting to do things that'll make him think I'm cool and charming and mysterious and definitely not someone who spent twenty minutes imagining our future wedding just because he smiled at me. Okay, maybe it was more just than one time. The point is, I want him to be impressed by me, but not in a weird way! Just in a "wow, look at that incredible person who somehow, also, likes me," way.

Every time he talks to me my brain goes, "Okay, don't say anything weird." But then I immediately say something weird. Maybe that's okay though. Maybe the whole point of falling for someone is that they get to see the weird parts along with the cool parts. Well I mean, that’s assuming I have cool parts. Which I think I do. Probably. But still, if he dramatically ran into my arms while romantic music played in the background, I wouldn't be opposed to it… Just saying.

And, I mean, he's also just such an incredible Elder. Like, genuinely incredible. He's just SO good at helping the African people learn about the Church. Like, every time I see him talking to someone, it's like he has this special superpower where people immediately want to listen to him. It's not an actual superpower, obviously. Although, if there were a real missionary superpower, that would probably be it. Anyways, I really wanna be like him someday. He carries himself in such a confident way. And I mean, it's not like I don't have confidence. I totally do! Well, I do at least most of the time Anyways, It's just that he has this way of showing his confidence that makes everyone around him feel confident aswell.

And he always just looks so put together in his shirt and tie. Like, it somehow always sits perfectly in the position it’s supposed to be in every day. His collar lines up perfectly with his shirt seams, his tie is always straight, and the outfit just overall works,  Y’know? His frame also fills it out in a really beautiful, no, sorry, handsome way. That’s the word I meant, not beautiful. What I'm about to say might sound weird, but it kind of reminds me of Darth Vader. Not because he’s evil or anything! Definitely not because he’s evil. But it’s because Darth Vader’s armor just looks amazing in that powerful but iconic way. Every piece of it looks exactly right. That’s sort of what Kevin’s shirt and tie are like. Anyways, my point is that he’s the kind of Elder people remember. Not because he’s perfect or anything, although he is pretty close, but because he just makes it so enjoyable to be around him. Which to me, seems like a really rare thing. Almost like a shiny Pokémon, just a little less rare… Hopefully.
