Summary
Shane knew he was an asshole. It was an indisputable fact of his life, like that the sky was grey, and money was always tight, and beer was cheapest right before closing time. See, when you get told something enough times, you can’t help but start believing it.
~
Two years after the sudden deaths of Ted and Camille, Shane is left trying to raise their seven year old daughter, Jas — and feeling like he's failing at every turn. Between a dead-end job at JojaMart, drowning his grief in cheap beer, and seeing his best friends in Jas every single day, he's barely keeping his head above water.
But Pelican Town has a way of refusing to let people fall apart alone. And when a stubborn new farmer moves into the valley, Shane finds himself having to reconsider a few things he always thought were true.
