*Fanfare Intensifies.*
Pomni was staring ahead, dumbfounded as music plays overhead while she stares at herself in the mirror. Ever since Caine had announced the special “crossover” deal his superiors had with this thing called “Fortnite”, it means she and Jax have to undergo promotional advertisements and do silly dances to get people to buy them.
And in her case, she was stretched out and molded to be taller and more fit to fight in those “battle royales”, or something like that. In her mind, she couldn’t help but be utterly confused at her own appearance and questions everything about it.
“…Oohhhkaaay, not what I thought of but….huh…” Pomni muttered to herself as she examined herself in the mirror.
There was a fat chance in hell the body that they gave her was an exact replica of what she had back before she put on the headset, it was honestly feeling a little too nice to her. But either way, she can’t be complaining as now she can at least see things from a higher perspective.
“At least I can reach higher at this rate.” Pomni says to herself as she turns to see Ragatha.
“Hey, you look great Pomni! Are you excited to star in for more of the promos?” Ragatha asked cheerfully as she does her best to be supportive, knowing it must all be new for Pomni.
“Yeah, I’m…a little excited. Albeit nervous and confused? I mean, did we really need to do this? I’m taller than you now.” Pomni says with an exasperated laugh.
They then hear chaotic, loud, and excited laughing as they see Jax crash across the railing above and hitting the floor of the circus in a car, presumably provided for him to drive from the Fortnite Crossover.
“YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” Jax screamed loudly as he swerves, doing doughnuts, and driving elsewhere.
Ragatha and Pomni stare at the skid marks and the damage left behind by Jax as they see him living his absolute best from this provided tools and vehicles.
“…Ohhh he’s going to make a mess.” Ragatha muttered, sighing as she rubbed the back of his neck.
“He’s having fun at the very least…yeesh…” Pomni scoffs a bit as she shakes her head, “…Anything you want to do right now?”
“I might have to take it upon myself to go after him.” Ragatha says with an inhale an exhale; smiling as she looks at Pomni, “…And hey, maybe I’ll give this “battle royale” thing a try! Kinger has given me lessons to handle firearms for a while…worth a shot.”
“Kick his a## for me.” Pomni said quickly with a laugh after as she high fives Ragatha after.
Ragatha laughed too as she winks and hurried off, hurrying to grab some guns and start blasting to take on her boyfriend. As for Pomni, she sighs and shakes her head with a warm smile.
“Ooh what am I going to do now…” Pomni hummed, thinking on what she’s going to do next.
“How about giving your favorite ringmaster a kiss?” A familiar, energetic, and suave voice calls out with a flirty tone.
Looking up, Pomni’s jaw drops as she sees Caine descend from the air and landing before her at a taller height. His height had changed too! And right now he was giving Pomni a gleeful and delighted expression as he winks at her.
“Caaaine!” Pomni laughs out loud with a smile, “What is all this?”
“Weeeell, let’s just say I didn’t want you to feel lonely up at this height! Sooooo I did a little tinkering and, voila!! I am now an inch taller than you, ANNNNND…” Caine says dramatically, “…I can officially do this now!”
Caine scoops Pomni into his arms, holding her up, and spinning around while she laughs and cries out in shock from the sudden act of Caine’s affections.
“Caine you’re gonna make me dizzy!” Pomni laughs out as she wraps her arms around Caine’s neck.
“Sorry my love, but I was just so enthusiastic to come and see you like this! And you’re absolutely radiant!” Caine says loudly as he buries his face in her shoulder and nuzzles against her.
“Pfffft…! You’re such a goofball…” Pomni chuckles out loud as she nuzzles him back.
“Now then, what would you like to do with your newfound height my dear?” Caine asks appreciatively as he sets her down but holds her by the waist, something he picked up on when she does that to him.
“I…well…I don’t really have any ideas really! Got any suggestions?” Pomni asks with a blush on her face as she feels herself being pulled closer to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
“Well I was thinking we could test this new height system out! Since Jax has taken over for the promos, I say we take this opportunity too…make do with what we have?” Caine asks, wiggling his eyebrows a little suggestively.
That was when Bubble floats down beside them, giving a beady stare as his sharp teeth glistens under the lights of the circus tent, being the little shit he is when he opens his mouth to say-
“WOW BOSS! Didn’t know you had a secret kink for Pomni no matter what modifications she’s in!” Bubble says as he floats around and spins, “She could be the size of The Moon and you’d still swoon for her!”
Caine holds Pomni close; who looks close to bursting out into laughter again as she buries her face in Caine’s shoulder, with the latter glaring at Bubble like he had uttered every single swear word in a single sentence like it’s “Sailor Mouth”.
“That is BECAUSE no matter what Pomni looks like, or what she is, I love with every inch of my code!” Caine says in a scolding tone towards Bubble, his eyes narrow and upper teeth furrowed.
“Caine…Caine it’s ok…” Pomni whispered in between giggles, watching as Caine sets her down back on her feet.
But to Caine it was not ok, as he took great pride in loving Pomni as he gently escorts her away from Bubble, before shooting him a mean stare.
“Hmph…he has no taste, thinking my attraction to your unwavering beauty and powerful heart is something akin to that of a mere kink. Psssh…” Caine scoffed as he clamps his teeth shut and is fuming.
“Hey now, I thought it was a little funny…” Pomni says as she keeps his arms around her by bringing him close.
“Just a little? My dear, you have no absolute idea…” Caine murmurs as he kisses her cheek.
Pomni smiles at the kiss as turns her head to kiss him fully, this new height change added to them both really giving them a more realistic and almost “natural” feeling of acting like a romantic couple.
Though their moment of sweetness was interrupted by a loud car horn blaring, warning them of who was passing around, and without thinking Caine lifts Pomni with him into the air as Jax’s car speeds around, this time with Ragatha already on the roof of it holding something.
“Everything’s fine! Sorry!” Ragatha calls out.
“WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!! HOLD ON TIGHT DOLLFACE, THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!” Jax yells out with a manic laugh.
Caine and Pomni watch in shock as Jax drives off elsewhere, where it’s clear Jax’s reckless driving was going to not bode well for the future opponents he’s going to encounter on the field. But it seems Ragatha’s going to be just fine handling him on her own.
“…And this is why we never let Jax drive anything.” Pomni says as she leans her cheek against Caine’s head.
“Huh…I wonder if that’s another reason why everyone wanted him in so badly.” Caine murmured, “…among other reasons.”
“He’s not as much of a bada#% as he thinks he is you know.” Pomni teased with a raised eyebrow, making Caine laugh a little.
“Well, I know for a fact YOU will be the apple of everyone’s eyes on the battle field. Especially mine.” Caine says with a cheerful tone as he kisses her again.
Pomni giggles as he does so, feeling the way he holds her as she returns the gesture in full, arms around his neck and her eyes sparkling with delight as she kisses him back. Deep down, she thrived on his attention and was feverishly kissing away as he raised a hand from her waist to cup her cheek. There was something about being tall that appealed to both of them in a way…
Something was definitely going to be useful from this, and not just from using it in battle alone.
