"Master, do not enter the kitchen," Qui-Gon emphasized the word "not" as if Dooku were a strill and not his master. He brandished a spoon as a saber while Obi-Wan made them tea.
"You act as though just my presence alone could ruin the food."
"Maybe the Living Force told him not to let you in," Rael chuckled from his place at the table.
"I'm sure Master Dooku's cooking isn't that bad," Feemor weakly defended his grandmaster.
"I think you mean count." Rael tried to snatch the whiskey from its place next to Master Yoda. "Oh, come on!"
"Build character, his cooking does," Yoda said, moving the whiskey out of reach.
"Yet, you were the one who taught me how to cook."
"And much character you have!"
"Perhaps you should start holding dinners for the initiates," Obi-Wan said, walking in with a tray. "I'm sure Master Jinn's next padawan will also need to have character."
"Already looking for your replacement?" Rael joked.
"I just think that, once I am knighted, Master Jinn deserves a padawan just like him." Obi-Wan handed each their cup. He was the image of the perfect, rule-abiding padawan, even with the glint in his eyes that gave away his mischief.
"Who says you'll even get knighted?" Qui-Gon leaned against the doorframe separating the kitchen and dining area. "Perhaps you will still be a padawan at 40!"
"I don't think that's even possible." Feemor said, trying to hide his smile behind his tea cup. "I'm sure there are rules against keeping a human padawan for decades."
"Since when does Qui care about words like 'possible' and 'rules'?" Rael quipped, loudly slurping on his tea just to get a rise out of Dooku.
"He is very particular about what rules he likes to follow," Obi-Wan said, sitting down next to Feemor. "For example, he won't let me grow out my hair."
"It is the traditional Padawan haircut!"
"Dooku, a traditional cut, he didn't wear," Yoda said, sounding almost nostalgic. "Neither did Master Sifo-Dyas."
"Neither did Rael," Dooku sighed. "I still have holos of all the terrible haircuts he tried."
"Feemor never gave me this many headaches over hair," Qui-Gon scoffed, walking back into the kitchen.
"Just grow it out," Dooku leaned in to whisper. "If he still keeps on complaining, come hide away in Serenno. Feemor, I'd offer you the same, but Jocasta would hunt me for sport."
"What a woman."
Dooku kicked Rael under the table.
"I am grateful for the offer, Grandmaster, but I am much set on my path as a knight."
"Steal him away, you may not." Yoda bonked Dooku on the head with his gimer stick.
"I was merely offering a sabbatical!"
"You just wanted an excuse to dress him up like a doll." Rael snickered before looking at Obi-Wan and speaking in the fakest posh voice anyone had ever heard. "Oh, Lord Kenobi, I sincerely hope you find the vintage to your liking."
"Why thank you, Lord Aveross," Obi-Wan said, playing along. "It is the most magnificent of delicacies."
Rael broke out into laughter as Dooku let out a very aristocratic sigh.
They would need to have another lineage dinner soon.
