Chapter Text
Today was a very stressful day for all parties involved..well except for Caine and Jax. Today’s adventure was about battling each other till the very death or in Caine’s words, ‘Till the very end.’
They had to fight each other with swords in weird medieval outfits. At first everything went slightly okay. No major incidents, until it was Ragatha’s turn to fight somebody. Unfortunately for her, that somebody was Jax. At first Ragatha was winning until Jax slashed her deep on her leg, making her unable to properly walk. Jax stood there claiming his victory while everybody else was concerned for Ragatha. That’s where the adventure ended.
Caine left without healing her, causing Pomni to help her walk to her room. Ragatha assured Pomni that Caine would come back and heal her eventually but sadly for Ragatha he never did.
Ragatha knew she had to stitch herself up so she painfully limped back into her room and looked for her needle and thread. Then she remembered that she left her needle and thread on the couch in the main area because before they went on the adventure she was fixing her dress. Ragatha was in so much pain she just fell onto her floor groaning in pain. For hours she didn’t move an inch and was basically kissing the floor. Until the lights went out and then she knew it was night. She waited till all of the commotion shimmered down into nothing. Ragatha slowly got up from her semi-uncomfortable position and sat up, now sitting onto the floor.
She checked on her leg and it was a bit.. atrocious. A bit is being generous. She managed to stop some stuffing from coming out of her leg but some managed to get out. Ragatha slowly got up, holding onto her bed for support. She put her foot onto the ground and winced in pain. She wanted to cry but she knew she had to be strong. Besides, she has been through worse…right?
She took a deep breath and slowly started walking.. well limping.. her way to the door. She opened the door and looked left to right. Nobody was out there. Perfect.
She started making her journey to the main area. After what seemed to be forever she finally made it to the couch in the main area. Once she landed on the couch she laid her back against the cushion. She took a shaky deep breath then slowly let it all out, hoping to calm herself down. She felt like her leg could fall off at any moment. After she calmed down she slowly lifted her leg onto the couch cushion, slightly wincing in pain at the movement. She took another deep breath as she rolled up her dress, revealing the deeply cut wound. Some stuffing gushed out of her and went onto the cushion, some going onto the floor. “F%#!#k..” She groaned in pain.
She grabbed some of the stuffing and tried her best to stuff it back into her. The more she tried the more painful it got. She often took small breaks in between, taking a deep breath and trying her best not to cry in pain. Tears ran down her cheek. She wanted this pain to end, she didn’t want to experience this. She’s hoping that Caine is somewhere around here ready to fix her up with a snap of his finger.
“C-Caine..?” She called out, her voice trembling.
No reply.
She called out again, this time being much louder than the last, “Caine!”
Once again no reply.
Ragatha knew that calling for Caine was both a lost cause and a waste of time, so she gave up. She laid her head back onto the cushion again, swallowing back her tears. She took a deep breath again, ‘You can do this Ragatha.’ she thought.
She started back up again and eventually got all of the stuffing back in her. Ragatha wiped tears away from her eyes. She kept taking deep breaths in and out. When she calmed down she looked for the sewing equipment she needed. After a minute she found the needle and thread. She grabbed it and started getting to work.. or at least she tried.
Before she could even put the needle through her plushy skin she heard a familiar voice call out her name, “Ragatha?”
She quickly turned around and to her surprise she saw a small jester who was rubbing her eyes slightly. “Why are you in the main area..?” Pomni asked.
Ragatha didn’t know what to say, how to respond. She quickly pulled down her dress, covering up the wound. “I uh.. It was getting hot in my room and I needed to be somewhere cool!” She replied, nervously smiling.
Pomni was a bit skeptical about that response, “Oookaayy.. How’s your leg?”
Ragatha noticed Pomni was getting closer, “It’s okay! My leg is fine!”
Pomni knew Ragatha was lying. The more time she spent with Ragatha the more she noticed that everytime she lied about being fine or something similar of the sorts her country accent slips out. Pomni got closer and noticed a tiny bit of stuffing on the ground.
Pomni grabbed the stuffing. “It’s fine?” Pomni raised an eyebrow, looking at her.
Ragatha stammered up a response, “Y-Yeah.. T-That’s probably from one of Kinger’s pillows!”
Pomni looked at her leg that was on the couch, she then noticed the needle and thread in Ragatha’s hand. She looked back at Ragatha’s face, “Were..were you planning on stitching yourself back up..?”
Ragatha knew she couldn’t get out of this. No matter how much she could try to deny or lie she knew Pomni wouldn’t believe nor budge. Ragatha swallowed bits of her guilt and nodded in defeat. Pomni sat on the couch next to her, “Why haven’t you called Caine to fix that yet?”
“I tried..! But.. he hasn’t responded, maybe he’s busy.” Ragatha explained. She looked up and saw the huge amount of concern on Pomni’s face. “I’m fine though! Once I stitch myself up I’ll be back in tip top shape!” Ragatha added, trying to reassure the jester.
Pomni shook her head, “You could’ve told me. I wouldn't mind stitching this back up for you.”
“I didn’t want to worry you with this nonsense. I still don’t! I’m telling you I can stitch myself up!” Ragatha protested.
Pomni's facial expression slightly shifted to a more grave expression, “Well now I am worried. You’re injured and you tried to cover yourself up without consulting anybody.”
Ragatha looked away a bit ashamed but yet a bit flustered. Pomni caring for her made her heart slightly flutter, especially when she uses that tone of voice.
“Give me the needle and thread.” Pomni demanded.
Ragatha’s eyes focused back onto Pomni giving her look that was filled with uncertainty. Pomni opened her palm waiting for Ragatha to give her the items. “I..You don’t have too!” Ragatha exclaimed, trying to persuade Pomni to change her mind.
“Ragatha.” Pomni snapped, causing Ragatha to slightly flinch. She didn’t want her to get more mad so she gave in and gave her the needle and thread.
“Thank you.” Pomni said. Ragatha slowly rolled up the end of her dress again, revealing the wound. Pomni's eyes widen in shock; she doesn’t recall the wound being that wide and deep. Pomni gently touched the wound, causing Ragatha to flinch.
Pomni looked up at her for the last time, “I’m going to start. Tell me if you need a break.” Pomni said.
Ragatha nodded in response. Pomni started to sew her skin back together. Ragatha looked away, slightly wincing her face. This was the last thing she wanted. As much as Ragatha appreciated her for doing this she didn’t want Pomni to see her like this. To see her own..stuffing.. gushing out of her.
Ragatha looked back at her. Pomni’s eyes didn’t leave her leg, she was in deep concentration. Her cheeks faintly flushed. ‘She’s in deep concentration.. I didn’t know she cared this much for me..nor did I know that she sewed.’ She thought.
She noticed that Pomni would give her quick glances to make sure she’s okay before continuing to work.
“I didn’t know you knew how to sew..” Ragatha mumbled.
“Yeah.. My grandpa taught me when I was younger.. He liked to make plushies for me and my cousins..” Pomni said.
Ragatha slightly smiled and let out a soft chuckle, “Is that so? I learned how to sew by my eldest sister..”
“I didn’t know you had a sister.” Pomni said, smiling back at her.
Ragatha nodded, “Yeah.. I have a large family..”
Pomni looked back down at the wound, it was halfway finished. The stuffing was barely gushing out of her now. That’s good, better in fact. Pomni went back to healing Ragatha. The silence filled the calm atmosphere that had a hint of tension.
“I..I usually do this on my own when things like this happen..” Ragatha mentioned. Pomni's hands didn’t stop moving but her eyes looked up at the beautiful ragdoll. She kept going, “Most of the time Caine just snaps his fingers and I will be back in shape but.. during time like this.. it’s all on me.”
Pomni stopped sewing and put her hand on Ragatha’s. Ragatha’s gaze met Pomni’s. Ragatha felt her heart pound faster, her body warming up, and her mind rushing. “Well, now you have me. I don’t want you hiding things like this from me anymore okay?” Pomni reassured her.
The way Pomni’s voice was soft and caring made Ragatha want to kiss her. ‘Control yourself Ragatha.’ Ragatha told herself in her mind.
Ragatha replied with a warm smile, “Okay.. I’ll try..”
They didn’t stop looking at each other for a good moment. Pomni let go of her hand and grabbed the items again to start sewing.
Pomni went at it again. Ragatha still felt the pain but what she was feeling for the most part was lovestruck. She had a crush on Pomni for a good while now. She loves the way she talks and cares for others. Ever since the talk they had after the awards show her feelings grew towards her. Luckily for her, she’s good at hiding her romantic feelings towards her. That or Pomni is painfully oblivious.
They have been hanging out more lately. When the adventure requires two people to team up, Pomni's first pick is always Ragatha. When they all chill out in the main area Pomni is always sitting next to her.
Ragatha just doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. She feels like Pomni's feelings might not be the same as hers. Though multiple parts of her are always wishing that her feelings are the same.
“I’m done.” Pomni annouced. Ragatha snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her leg. It was all stitched up. She slowly moved her leg, she winced a bit in pain. “I think you need to let it heal for a couple of days.”
Ragatha replied with a small chuckle, “Yeah probably..”
Pomni gave Ragatha the needles and thread again. Ragatha looked back up at Pomni, “Thank you, Pomni.”
Pomni gave her a gentle smile, “You’re welcome. Again I don’t mind doing this for you. If you need to be stitched up again just tell me.”
Pomni got off the couch and stretched. Ragatha slowly got up from the couch, holding onto the couch arm.
“Do you need help getting back to your room?” Pomni asked
Ragatha shook her head, “No! I’ll be okay!”
Ragatha gave Pomni a small wave and started to walk away, limping. Pomni watched her limp for a solid two seconds before scooping her up from behind. Ragatha let out a loud yelp. “Pomni?! What are you doing?!”
“I’m not letting you walk back into your room in this condition.” Pomni replied.
“Pomni! I can walk just fine! Put me down!” Ragatha protested.
Pomni sighed, “The last time I checked, limping is not walking ‘just fine.’”
“But-”
“No buts. Now stop fighting me and let me carry you.”
Ragatha had no choice but to give in. She held onto Pomni making sure she wouldn't get dropped. Pomni proceeded to carry Ragatha to her room.
