Fuck...! Why did they even agree to Red's stupid plan? It's not like Green is even alive after that thing killed them!
...That's what Purple thought as they looked at the alien eating some pizza crumbs (that didn't have salt) in the kitchen, where they were permanently locked while Purple and Red decided what the fuck to do with the monster inside their spaceship.
The thing is... Purple didn't have the strength to disagree with the captain, not after their talk after they successfully locked Green inside the kitchen, surrounded by salt. Red really believed that Green was alive and they just needed to take the alien off of them. Purple didn't believe that; they knew the alien had killed Green the moment they went inside the intern.
However, they didn't want to go into another argument with their recently remade friend. After all they went through, maybe they could give Red a chance to at least try their theory...
But, right now, while Purple looked at the kitchen's fast-made window, they didn't believe an inch of what Red said. Green was devouring those pizza crumbs like an animal, while their tentacles picked other crumbs from the ground. Gross.
"You're weird." - Purple said, expressing their discontent at Green's alive situation.
"Red wouldn't say that about me! They would be saying 'Oh, Green! I'm so sorry I couldn't help you! But I promise I'll take this pesty alien out of you!' and I would laugh at their faith in this theory." - Green answered, snickering as they put another pizza crumb inside their mouth.
Purple shivered at the perfect imitation of Red's voice, shaking their head to make their thoughts straight again. - "Shut the fuck up. I know Green's dead and this is all worthless!"
"So why don't you kill me? Why not end it all and send this spaceship back to MIRA HQ? Why not be the favored one by them now? You'll be the one to destroy the alien who killed everyone! Isn't that great?" - Green taunted, their body slowly moving closer to the glass, watching Purple's behavior.
Purple didn't answer; they only looked terrified and then angry at Green before giving the middle finger and leaving to find Red inside the spaceship.
~~~
"We need to kill Green." - Purple said, crossing their arms as they looked at Red's poor attempt at fixing the cameras in the security room.
"I-I already said that they're alive! We can bring them back! W-We just need to find a way!" - Red implored, immediately forgetting what they were doing to turn to Purple's direction.
"No! They're not alive! The alien killed Green and is now controlling their body! Seriously, why can't you see that?! You saw how the baby aliens controlled the other crewmates' bodies! Why can't you see that for Green?!" - Purple screamed, pointing their finger at Red's face.
The captain didn't answer, looking at the ground, then at the cameras, then at the loose, sparkling wiring... Before sighing.
"I-I need some time." - Red said, then left walking outside the security room.
~~~
Red passed almost the rest of the day avoiding Purple, and now it was midnight time on their home planet. The security guard was probably sleeping in their room, so now Red was left in the cafeteria, gazing at the window that blocked the alien from getting out of the kitchen.
They knew Purple was right, but somehow they wanted their stupid story to be true. They wanted to not be an absolute failure as a captain.
But they were.
Red sighed, getting up from their seat and walking towards the kitchen, opening the door and taking caution not to slip on the salt. Was this suicide? Maybe, but right now they didn't want to be killed. They wanted to test out something.
After they started to avoid Purple, Red tried talking with the alien, which they earned a few responses, most were Green trying to persuade them or just screaming at Red to free them. However, the captain got some interesting answers.
"I know Green's whole life story." - They said after shouting loudly at Red.
"What?"
"Yeah, I've earned their memories after I possessed their body. It's like that for all aliens; it's to help us disguise ourselves." - Green explained. They were breathing heavily as their tentacles slowly disappeared into their back.
"... And?" - Red asked, a bit intrigued but confused at Green's intention with telling them that.
"I want those."
"Those what?"
"Those experiences. I was born to kill, not to... Not to do whatever shit you guys like to do. But it seems like Green had fun with those stupid things they used to do at their family's worm farm." - The alien said, slowly backing away onto the wall, where their body was partially covered by the shadows.
Red didn't answer, they just looked at the alien until they decided to leave them to deal with themselves.
Right now, the captain was looking at the alien's sleeping body with fear and what they believed was courage. They had a theory, and they wanted to test it out.
"I know you're awake. Get up." - Red said, trying to keep still as that mass of meat and tentacles formed from Green's lower part, and the crewmate's body slowly got closer to them.
"You're brave... Or dumb. Once you get killed, I'll let Purps decide." - The alien said, chuckling.
"You won't kill me." - The captain retorted, trying hard to believe what they had just spoken.
"And why do you believe that?"
"Because I want to help you."
That made the alien back away slightly in surprise. What does Red mean by helping them? Were they dumb? Well, that obviously they were, but... This intrigued Green.
"What do you mean by 'helping me'? Are you going to kill Purple? What a traitor!" - They laughed maliciously as they gazed intently at the poor crewmate in front of them.
"N-No, not that!" - Red almost shouted back, trying to recompose themselves. - "You said y-you wanted those memories, right? M-Memories like Green's! I can help you with that!"
The alien's face went from a malicious smile to an astonished expression in seconds. Red thought they would be killed at that exact moment; instead, Green slowly approached the captain, their face coming side by side to their ear.
A whisper came from the crewmate's mouth, so low that Red thought they were imagining things. - "And how are you going to do that?"
"I-I don't know...! B-But I'll try! I swear!" - The captain answered, gagging at their own phrase and instinctively backing away from Green. - "I promise." - They finally said in a firm tone.
~~~
"YOU WHAT?!" - Purple screamed, throwing the security room's chair at Red.
The captain jumped out of the direction of the chair, throwing their face hard on the floor, trying to speak back at Purple. - "MY PLAN MAKES SENSE! Please! Let me explain!"
Purple panted, running at Red to punch them, grabbing them by their stupid ass uniform. Their hand was directed at the other's face. - "Explain then!"
"I-I- Green told me they wanted— They wanted to experience good memories! So I thought, maybe, if we gave them good memories, they wouldn't want to kill us...?" - Red explained, hands hovering in the air as Purple slowly ungripped the captain, looking at them in awe.
"If I had any doubt that you were the most idiotic person I've met in my life, now I'm hundred percent sure— What the fuck?!" - The security guard screamed at them, flopping the crewmate on the floor, ignoring the way Red's cheeks seemed to redden.
"Please! Let me try! If they harm me, I’ll stop and we'll kill them, okay?" - Red pleaded on their knees, making Purple be the one blushing now.
The other stuttered a bit, avoiding looking at Red as they answered. - "I... Okay, just- Please be careful. I don't want to lose you... Not again."
At Purple's phrase, Red nodded, getting up and giving them a well-deserved hug, before running out of the security room with the biggest smile on their face.
"It will work! You'll see!"
~~~
"So the killing is just an instinct?" - Red asked, writing on the MIRA HQ's rulebook. They weren't using that anymore, and they thought it would be better if they put notes that really helped there.
"Yeah, something like that. We don't have an alien guideline; we just... Kinda know these things happen with us, and that's it." - Green answered, their arms crossed and a tired expression on their face.
"Well, that's cool to know...?" - Red said, watching the alien's expression. - "Uh, have you ever played UNO?"
"No."
"Well, I can teach you!"
Then they passed the next fifteen minutes with Red constantly losing and Green laughing at their face.
It was fun, the alien liked it, and, for the first time since the start of this fiasco, Green felt like they finally had a good original memory.
"Why are you so good at this?! What?!" - Red screamed while Green yelled "UNO!" yet again. - "You must be cheating!"
"I'm not! I swear!" - Green snickered. They really weren't lying, but found it funny anyways that Red would think that about them.
Red only sighed, picking up the cards and putting them away. - "Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. Good night."
Before Green could even think, their tentacles were wrapping themselves around Red's legs and pulling them close. - "... no." - They said softly, the captain almost didn't hear.
"... I... Why?"
"... stay."
"..."
Red stayed for the night, without complaining.
~~~
Purple wasn't jealous! Not at all! And they couldn't be- They couldn't be jealous of fricking Captain Red!
Even if all they've been hearing about is Green because that's what Red talks about all the time. And Purple's not jealous of the time Red's been spending with Green. It's not like the security guard wanted to let their relationship grow so they could be closer to Red.
Okay, maybe they were jealous, so what? What could they even do? Red was so infatuated with Green and... And Purple could see the way the alien's eye shined when Red entered the kitchen.
Fuck, all Purple wanted was to be closer to Red, and just because of a silly fight, this was happening, just like last time. The inner voice inside them told them to stop Red from going to talk to Green, but they knew that wouldn't work, and Red would probably be pissed at them.
So their next plan would be to understand Green.
~~~
Purple cautiously entered the kitchen. The alien was snoring loudly, surrounded by cardboard games that Red found inside the spaceship and video games they had brought from their home planet.
The security guard slowly approached the alien, touching their cheek to see if it was awake, which they earned an immediate attention from the alien, looking at them.
"Oh...! I didn't expect you to be here!" - Green teased, his body getting up and closer to the crewmate.
"I... I-I'm here because of Red!" - Purple exclaimed, backing away as Green came closer.
"Why? I haven't harmed them, have I? I know that Red would tell your worried ass as soon as I harm them. They're just like that." - Green said, and for some strange reason, Purple could hear that the alien was disgusted at themselves for saying that.
"N-Not at that, I... I want to understand what got them so infatuated with you." - Purple answered, their back hitting the wall. Fortunately for them, Green stopped getting closer and now had a confused expression on their face.
"Why are you two like this? I know that if Lime were alive, they would've killed me the moment they knew salt could kill me, even Cyan would!" - Green exclaimed, not in disgust but in astonishment. - "Why give me a chance even if I killed all of your friends?"
"First of all, you didn't kill Lime." - Purple pointed out, with Green huffing at that. - "Second of all, I wanted to kill you, but... But I didn't want to disagree with Red yet again, so I gave them the chance, and they... Somehow achieved it?"
Green chuckled, their body coming and circling Purple. The security guard felt those tentacles wrap around them but never tightening their grip. It was weird.
"Well, I think it would be a good idea if you tried helping with Red's plan as well. I would like to have more people to defeat at UNO."
~~~
Alright...... WHAT?!
Somehow this all spiralled so fast, and now Green was at the same table as them in the cafeteria, playing cards with them, talking, and fighting just like they do.
Green was also fucking helping with keeping the spaceship intact so they could go away from MIRA HQ and back to Purple's and Red's home planet.
Purple felt partially bad. This alien had killed all the other crewmates, and by a hair, Green hadn't killed them.
But right now, seeing the alien having fun using their tentacles to tease Red after they just lost, seeing how they hadn't tried to kill anyone even if it's part of their instinct... Purple couldn't help but feel that they somehow were doing something right.
