   Summary

   Every generation, the Selection offers a handful of people the chance to leave their ordinary lives behind and compete for the hand of the crown prince.

   Lance never imagined his name would be drawn.

   As a Six, he knows exactly where he belongs in the kingdom's hierarchy: nowhere near the palace. The Selection is for dreamers, nobles, and people who believe in fairy tales. Lance is none of those things.
