Tim beats Lucy home only by a few minutes. He waits in his truck, and sees her car driving up. He gets out and leans against his truck. She gets out and then grabs her bag and shuts the door. He meets her in front of his truck and pulls her closer.
Because he can again.
He finally can again.
“Welcome home.” He says tucking her hair behind her ear. “It is your home.” Lucy lips twitch into a smile.
“Good to know.” She says. Tim smiles at her, and then takes her hand and leads her to the front door. He unlocks the door and pulls her inside before shutting the door behind her.
She drops her bag and then wraps her arms around his neck.
“Hi.”
“Hi,” he says. “Crazy day huh?”
“Yep.” She says. “We coordinated a sting operation in another country. We were successful, and even though it was a long ass day—”
Tim cuts her off with a kiss and she smiles into it. “You just wanted me to shut up huh?” She asks. Tim shrugs and then he’s backing her up towards the bedroom. The last time she had been here was April Fool’s day. And it wasn’t even for a long time, it was too short of a time.
But now it was permeant, and she was here to stay. She was going to be all the way in his life.
“I am really glad you said yes.” Tim says as he fully backs her into the bedroom. He kicks the door shut and then pulls her even closer.
“Me too.” Lucy says and she blows out a breath. “I love you.”
“I love you.” Tim says. He starts to pull her shirt off, and she does the same with his. It’s fast from there. Tim backs her towards the bed, she only has her bra and underwear on and he only has his boxers. He pushes her down gently onto the bed and she crawls up to the top.
Tim crawls after her and hovers over her, her eyes are full of want and love.
This is what he’s been waiting for—this is what he has wanted for a long time. And he was patient, he moved at Lucy’s pace because he’s the one who messed up. He wasn’t going to pressure her but god it felt good to have her back in his arms.
He didn’t realize how much he would miss her until he didn’t have her every night. And now he does.
It felt so, so good.
“I missed you.” Tim mutters burying his nose into her neck and breathing her in. “I was an idiot.”
“Yes,” Lucy says but she’s smiling. “But you have been making up for it.” He really has been trying to.
He kisses her and his hands slide to her back unhooking her bra. It falls off and he groans a little. He’s not sure he’s going to be able to stop loving on her once he starts.
“You are so beautiful.” He mutters and then he dives in. Lucy groans her fingers running through his hair. His mouth travels down and he pulls her underwear off. He presses kisses to her inner thighs and then looks up at her.
“What?” She asks.
“Once I start,” he says and he told her he was going to be honest. There wasn’t going to be a single thought that he didn’t tell her. “I don’t know if I will be able to stop.” He sees the shiver that runs through her and she motions him up. He rises up and hovers over her once more.
“Really?” She asks. He nods. She searches his face and then pulls him down so he can kiss her. “Then don’t stop Bradford.”
Oh he would never stop loving her.
Not in this lifetime or any other.

Tim wakes up a little bit after their third round. He studies Lucy, and she looks so beautiful. So peaceful. He just wants to watch her sleep, because she is here in -their- bed and it’s better than he ever thought it would be.
“I know you are watching me.” Lucy says without opening your eyes. “Why?” Tim shrugs and pulls her closer. This time she does open her eyes and smiles at him.
“I like your bed.” Lucy says. “It’s very comfortable and sturdy.”
“Yeah?” Tim asks and he presses a kiss to her cheek. “It’s our bed.” Lucy raises her eyebrows and slots her leg between his. He has a feeling they aren’t going anywhere for a long time.
“Is it?” Lucy asks. Tim nods and she lets out a laugh before untangling herself from him. “I’ll be right back.”
“Where are you going?” He pouts.
“Bathroom.” She says not losing her smile. He watches her go, and he’s so focused that he almost doesn’t hear his phone buzzing. He reaches over to grab it, nothing bothering to see who it is.
“Hello?”
“Bradford.” It’s Grey and Tim sits up a little, why was Grey calling him? Did something happen? Did they mess up on the Op?
“Sir,” he says. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes,” Grey says. “I have good news. I guess for you and Chen.”
“Go on.” Tim says and he’s not sure if Grey knows they are back together yet.
“Garza offered me this opportunity for a FBI task force.” Grey says. “I accepted and someone needs to take my job.”
Tim blinks a couple of times. Lucy comes back into the room and crawls into bed. “What does that mean sir?” Tim asks.
“It means you are the new Watch Commander of Mid Wilshire Tim.” Grey says. “There’s no other person I would have take over. If you will take it.”
“Thank you sir and yes.” Tim says and he feels a little stunned. He turns to look at Lucy, who has a confused look on her face. “What does that mean for Lucy?”
“She won’t have to be on the night shift anymore. She will take your position as roving supervisor.”
“Thank god.” Tim breathes out. He’s not sure he would have been able to handle it if she was on the night shift. “That’s great.”
“You sound more excited about Chen getting off the night shift than you being watch commander.” Grey points out.
“It’s Lucy.”
“I see.” Grey says. “I am assuming this is all above board?”
“Yes sir.” Tim says. “Thank you. He hangs up and then smiles at Lucy.
“Good news,” he says. Lucy raises her eyebrows, and he leans in to kiss her. “You are off the night shift.”
“Yeah?” She asks. “How did that happen?”
“You are looking at the new Watch Commander of Mid Wilshire.”
“What?”
Tim tells her everything Grey told him, and at the end Lucy is kissing him. It’s a little messy because they are both smiling.
“Oh my god Tim.” She says. “That’s… amazing.” Tim lets out a laugh, he’s not sure how he feels about watch commander yet but he has Lucy back. She’s back to working with him and—
“It is.” Tim agrees. “We won’t be two ships passing in the night.”
“Thank god.” Lucy says. “How do you feel about being watch commander?”
“I don’t know yet.” He says. “I think it will be good for me.”
“I do too.” Lucy says. “And I think you are going to do great.” Tim lets out a soft noise, she has always believed in him. No matter what, and that never left.
“Thank you.” He says. “This has been a great day hasn’t it?”
“Oh yes.”
“I love you.” Tim says softly. A smile spreads across Tim’s face.
Oh how he loves her.
This is a forever kind of thing.
“I love you too.”
