“as of writing this, tomorrow is my last day on your server.”
Planet was on the path to ████████’s house.
His thickly platformed sneakers kicked up dust as he walked, his movements sluggish as if he had to convince himself to take each step.
Planet arrived in front of the door and raised his hand to push it open.
Actually, he’d only been inside the structure a few times before, always to cause jjdawg13 some sort of trouble or stop him from progressing further in the world.
His palm hovered over the beige knob, but for some reason, Planet really didn’t want to go inside that house.
"????????????????"
he felt a sharp throb in his temple
That house with its stupid plants that the blonde had kept even though they’d kept dying because of the bedrock blocking sunlight, with its messy chests filled to the brim with items with he’d never sorted out, with grey and black rock bleeding into the interior from failed attempts to ruin the build, with its warm lights, with its cozy atmosphere that had the misfortune of belonging to a player that would never return to inhabit it again.
His other hand unconsciously clenched against his side, the purple fabric of his hoodie clutched in his fist. He dropped the former hand over the doorknob, who was Planet to force himself to go inside when he didn’t want to, anyway? It wasn’t like he would do anything actually worthwhile, probably stare at the walls with his eyes oddly glossed over.
“In the dumbest way possible”
Planet turned on his heel and glanced at the green fuzz over to the side of the house.
He could use a nap.
Afterall, he was alone in the world, and it had been set back to peaceful ever since ████████ left the world last, lest any creepers and alike ruin the structures the duo built together.
Planet knew they s̶o̶o̶n̶ would be lost to time, but he wanted at least to make the futile effort of preserving the memories created in the vicinity.
The voidling treaded through the vegetation, his antennae bobbing up and down as he attempted to avoid stepping on any flowers mixed into the clearing. It had grown lush and thick since his caretaker hadn't returned yet? to trim it.
He slumped down on the patch of green, and ran his hands along the grass. He felt the almost sharp blades prod his skin through the thin black material of the gloves he wore.
“we sort of beat the game together”
His hand found the long, slim stem of a dandelion. He frowned.
The dandelion was not ivory with seeds and it wasn’t the golden shade that you might’ve been able to compare to the yellow of ████████’s hair, either.
It had already surpassed its flowering stage.
You could neither make a wish on its seeds nor could you observe the true beauty of its bloom, having been long past, hidden by the sepals curling over the petals protectively.
Planet let out a wry chuckle, his thoughts drifting down memory lane.
████████ and Planet were building the structure which would hold the dragon head, and Planet had followed ████████ indoors as he rummaged through the chests for more blocks. Planet was hovering near the windowstill, intensely staring at the odd lineup of half dead, and half dying plants present.
"Why do you even keep these plants?"
"Huh? oh! you're talking about the ones on the windowstill. right?"
"Yeah, they all end up dead anyway." he grinned.
"You very well know that's completely your fault. The bedrock that YOU placed literally blocks all of the sunlight."
"Then… just leave the plants outside! it's not really my fault you don't have common sense."
"No way! Those are snake plants, they have even less of a survival chance out there. Plus,"
████████ paused, "it kind of feels fun, seeing if I can keep those alive, with all those dumb pranks you do."
Planet sniggered, He really does find this fun, doesn't he?
"I'll hold you to that, you know."
████████ had looked off into the distance with a incomprehensible look in his eyes, before suddenly blurting, "yeah."
Planet looked back, waiting for him to finish.
"Yeah, I'm sure you will."
Planet lifted himself on his elbows and got on his feet, he briefly glanced at the large platform holding the dragon egg in the very middle,
the rough, black surface of the egg faded to purple on the bottom, the surface shimmering in the sunlight as if it were made from the essence of the night sky littered with stars.
“I knew you would never ban me, maybe because you wanted answers”
He felt a pang in his chest.
He found that the sight meant so much less to him without ████████.
Planet did not speed up his walking pace so he wouldn’t have to look at the structure.
He made his way to the 'wall of conversation'. It was such a stupid name, utterly and completely dumb.
Why would ████████ even assume they would have more than one conversation, in the first place?
The wall’s area had been expanded, so many times he’d lost count.
“Or maybe because deep down,”
Planet lifted one of his hands to the surface of the wall, then onto one of the first signs ████████ had placed on the wall—he could feel the slight cracks of the decaying wood beneath the pads of his fingers.
With a rueful glint in his eye, he imagined the blonde crouching down to scribble words on the oak before nailing it down below the birch sign at the top of the wall, barely able, reaching to do so.
When he pulled his hand back, he thought perhaps it would have a smudge of ink across the palm, like it might've when it was fresh.
Like it did when it was fresh…
Planet felt a smile crawl onto his face.
Like it did back when he knew jjdawg18 was coming back
He was never coming back.
“— u were having as much fun as me”
After everything, he was never coming back.
Planet had a bitter smile etched on his face.
PlanetLord left the game
