Jay woke up and as expected: tired as well as hungry. Looking at his alarm clock it's 4:34 am. He decides that rolling out of bed out of bed is the best method of transportation. “Oww”
He walked to his dresser, His mother always complained how he slept shirtless. But it wasn't his fault his room was a furnace at night! He stares at the misty windows wanting to break it letting the early morning air in
Deciding against it. He looks through his clothes, finding a T-shirt and sweat pants he quickly puts them on. He looks at the mirror, seeing his ginger hair and green eyes, he should probably get a haircut. His Red hair is in his face
As he walks into the kitchen only to see a note on the fridge he quickly reads it “dear son I will be gone for a couple of months I expect you to take care of yourself from Lilith Rachel PS: there's some money in the drawer I expect you to make it last” he checks the draw 150$ great definitely not enough to pay the bills
Jay just sighs shaking his head “as expected from Lilith”
He opens the fridge: grabbing some eggs, an energy drink. He turns on the stove putting a flat pan. Making a omelet the energy drink a breakfast as champions
Some time later at school lunch time
Jay walks in the hallway to get to the cafeteria. the hallway is storming with teenagers making far too much noise in his opinion, when he bumps into someone he recognizes “oh hey Zz” he says
ZZ Face looks bored as usual in her usual bland tone “oh crow you coming”
Jay replies “you betcha” we both walk to the cafeteria, to get our lunch, as we walk to our usual table: Kody in his usual style is already there.
“hey ender” Kody nods, not letting his eyes look away from his book. As he waves us over we sit down next to him
“So… Do you finally have a crush?” ZZ asks tapping the table
Kody vary serious “the day I get a crush kill me because that's an imposter and they're doing a horrible impression of me”
ZZ replies to Kody’s comment with “you know where just messing with you,”
Kody with a sarcastic tone “gasp the blasphemy”
Zz eating her macaroni and cheese “yeah you dork”
Kody replies “oh yeah well your-”
Kody gets interrupted by someone else joining the table
Jay says as a response “Cat”
Cat the sharp tooth bastard who is currently shoving raw meat into his mouth swallows to response with “oh sup bird” then goes back to shoveling his food into his face
pass only for Cat to break the silence with “oh yeah Abby's going to be joining us for later”
ZZ replies with “good that kid needs to get out of the house more”
A couple of hours later after school 5:45 pm at the bus
The bus had soft light coming from a nearby opening in the abandoned parking area it was nice and worm it was nice after a school day
Kody looks at the ceiling of the abandoned bus asking the question that they are tired of asking "Why are we still here?” The question hangs there feeling like a lingering threat as he contends with “I mean most of us are almost adults now except for Abby but still what's keeping us from just leaving?"
Cat ears perking up. As he sits up "that's... A damn good question. What is stopping us? We have nothing here! What's been stopping us all these years!"
Jay looks up at the bus ceiling that's been covered with paintings of flowers thanks to Kody thinking to all those times Lilith has left without warning just a note. Leaving only the minimum money which half the time isn't even enough, Would she even notice? Or care? "I mean why not? Don't we have to go bags for this reason?” thinking about those times we've had this conversation but just never went through with it
Zz covered in oil from the engine walks back in "well we could take this thing" saying as she sits onto the driver seat wiping the oil on some rag "everything is in working order don't ask me how and actually in pretty decent condition to so the only thing we would have to change is the inside I can handle the inside"
Abby asks from laying on some of the ripped up seats as she sleepy tries to sit up voice small "so we're doing it? No more fighting, no more arguing. Just leaving?"
Kody shrugging "I don't see why not"
Cat replies well stretching joints popping tail moving side to side like a satisfied cat "I mean I don't have anything on my calendar"
Jay a little sad but more relieved than anything "yeah sure"
“yeah why not but..." Zz says as she pulls out her phone "if we're going to do this we need an actual plan"
Cat also pulls out his phone making a new group chat called 'missing amigos’ and adds everyone to it "I'll grab the food"
"I have some money from my job" Kody added
Jay replies "I have some spare electric stuff so we can have WiFi, Internet a radio and some cooking stuff”
"I have blankets and pillows" Abby says happily
Zz response "ok also everyone grab there go bag if we're going to do this where doing it properly"
everyone agrees sets the met up time at 6:00 PM for the next couple of weeks to prep the bus and prepare
