“Mm. My ego and I are both very comfortable right now,” Ilay said smoothly. He glanced down at Taeui, the light catching in his eyes making them look softer than usual. “Admit it. You like hearing that I enjoy this more when you’re here. Makes you feel important.”
Taeui laughed and shook his head. “Fine. Maybe I do like hearing it. But only because you say it like you’re doing me a favor. Could you at least pretend the great Ilay Riegrow finds walking in the snow romantic instead of acting like my personal escort?”
Ilay slowed their steps for a moment, turning Taeui slightly so they faced each other more directly.
“Romantic?” He lifted a gloved hand to brush a stray snowflake from Taeui’s hair. “I’m out here freezing my ass off at dawn because you like it. If that isn’t romantic, I don’t know what is.”
