Chapter Text
It was the middle of winter, there were less prey to hunt these days, and to be completely alone during moments like this—especially in the middle of the night—would practically be a suicide mission.
Seonghwa was used to this, nonetheless. He had been an outcast to the world since birth; dangerous to those around him. It was his job to be alone, and it was safer for both sides of the stick. Enigmas aren't trustworthy. There's not enough of a population for there to be reliable research on them, and most people to this day are hesitant to believe they were more than a myth, but here he was.
Seonghwa shifted into his silver-white wolf form, running throughout the forest, searching for shelter at the very least—food if there was anything left at this point. He hadn't found himself a good prey in about a week—possibly more than that. His lack of strength was beginning to show in his body and he couldn't get that desperate feeling of hunger out of his head.
Maybe he wasn't as used to this as he tried convincing himself he was. A strangled whine left the wolf as he came to a stop.
Running wouldn’t get him anywhere; he knew that already.
Just as he stopped in his tracks, he swore he caught a whiff of fresh kill. If he were in the right state-of-mind, he would've known to resist the smell. Fresh kill was fresh kill. That meant someone had to be nearby.
That thought had barely stood a chance in Seonghwa's head as his body was already speed walking towards the food. He was so hungry, it somehow made him nauseous at the same time. Everything in him felt so empty—which was somewhat true due to the lack of food in his body.
Seonghwa’s mind was so fogged by the thought of food that he didn't quite realize that the scent drifted a few seconds ago, and was now replaced with a strong cinnamon scent. Definitely an alpha's scent.
The smell was what made him ultimately stop in his tracks and analyze his surroundings.
Bare trees—everywhere, surrounding him. In the distance, he could tell there were some dens. This was a pack’s territory.
He had just trespassed onto a pack's territory to steal their food. How didn't he smell the so-obvious scent around the borders? God, did he just get caught? Was there still time to flee the scene?
Seonghwa took a quick look at his surroundings once more, taking in a big whiff. The cinnamon scent wasn't close by anymore, and he couldn’t see any outlines of another wolf nor hear anything out of the ordinary. He quickly backed away from the territory, internally hoping it would just be a simple mistake that he could easily walk away from without any repercussions, and that would be it. The last thing he wanted was to talk. Seonghwa's tail flicked, ears flattening against his head as he quietly continued to exit the pack's territory.
“Fuck,” Seonghwa panted, feeling his heart beat outside of his body. “What the fuck's wrong with me?” A frustrated growl left the silver-white wolf. He was far enough from the territory now that he deemed himself safe from any interactions.
A sigh left him as he collapsed to the ground filled with snow. His fur blended in perfectly.
“God, everything's sore.” Seonghwa rasped out to himself. The hunger pangs came back every few minutes, practically presenting themselves as a form of torture along with the reminder of his starving self. To go hungry for so long, without as much as the smallest sign of food nearby made the situation feel like getting mauled would feel better than the constant feeling of emptiness in him—both inside and out.
Only after a few blinks did he finally go unconscious, body tightly curled into himself in an attempt to stay warm.
°○•°
A dark brown wolf scowled as he chased after Seonghwa, finding himself trailing too far behind him. The fact that the wolf was much bigger than himself—an alpha—overloaded the sense of danger in him. Of course, some of his pack members were much bigger and taller than him in both human and their animal form, but this was different. It felt threatening, somehow. The alpha started to catch up, a low growl vibrating through his body as he got closer and closer to the silver-white wolf.
He pounced on the still-running wolf, practically roaring in a mix of frustration and satisfaction when he finally pinned the wolf down underneath him.
“Who are you, and how dare you trespass on my pack's territory?” The dark brown wolf pressed nose-to-nose with Seonghwa. His body was heaving with repressed pants, jaw clenched while baring his sharp teeth. He was beyond pissed.
“I am no one important. I didn't mean to trespass—I didn't smell any markers, so I thought it was safe to go through.” The silver-white wolf stated calmly, although noticing the other’s anger—and the hint of fear that was very obviously not meant for him to smell. The alpha yowled in response, not enjoying the lack of information being handed to him.
“Give me your name.” Seonghwa caught a glimpse of the unsteadily swishing brown tail from his view. A quiet grumble was heard before a response came out.
“My name doesn’t matter, all I did was cross your territory by mistake.” The enigma spat, unrelenting. He was going to stand his ground no matter what. If he purposefully trespassed, it would be understandable, but this should just be a quick interaction. There's no reason for him to stay anywhere near the pack after this.
“Tell me, loner.” His upper lip raised with a low growl. “You don't smell like the typical alpha, what the hell are y—”
The alpha let out a yelp that shocked the both of them as Seonghwa suddenly kicked the other off of him with his hind legs, quickly switching their positions and pinning him down instead. Now, Seonghwa met the dark brown wolf's eyes, ignoring the hint of fear he’s smelling and seeing in the alpha's eyes. That's not what he wants to think about. Not when he's rightfully protecting himself.
“Alpha,” The enigma taunted, “You might've caught me at my weakest, but don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re stronger than me.” He barked, watching in not-so-full satisfaction as the dark brown wolf slightly trembled underneath him.
“Let me go.” The alpha bared his teeth in warning, and Seonghwa complied. He was too worn-out from this situation to be dealing with anything else from the wolf on top of it, and he knew that he wouldn't dare attempt to attack him again.
“Maybe if you didn't chase me out of your territory as if I weren't passed out on the ground just a second ago, you wouldn't have ended up in this position.” Seonghwa’s ears flicked, extremely ticked off by the alpha's inconsideration. “Maybe one day, you’ll realize not everything in the forest that's different is a threat towards you.” He laughs, although feeling a bitter taste in his mouth as the alpha continues to stare him down, tail swishing with uncertainty, as if still waiting for the catch.
“You didn't answer me. What are you exactly?” The dark brown wolf's ears flattened, a sign of guilt and sympathy showing heavily through him. It's almost like he wasn't being aggressive before Seonghwa decided to put him in his place.
“I'm a wolf, just like you.” Seonghwa grumbled. “You're nobody to get in my business; you've chased me way out of your territory, and I will not trespass again. End of story.” He padded away, tail whipping crazily.
It took about a minute or two for Seonghwa's adrenaline to slow down on him and stop him from walking more, but that alpha had definitely left—if it weren't for him finally looking back to confirm it. This interaction didn't feel good at all, but nothing like this ever did.
And he was still starving like a bitch, so did he really achieve anything from that fight besides a temporary distraction?
Seonghwa shifted to his hybrid form, silver-white ears peaking through his platinum white hair as his tail lay close to his legs. He tread slowly the rest of the way to find an empty cave, filled entirely with exhaustion from the events that had gone down.
"What a self-centered asshole," he barked out to himself, sliding down the wall to sit in a corner further inside the cave. Why did it seem like everything was out to get him?
°○•°
"Alpha!" A golden wolf appeared from a bush, treading over to the pack alpha. "I heard from Jongho that you're taking our spot tonight for border patrol?" The wolf's head tilted before shifting to his hybrid form, eyeing the shorter hybrid with brown ears and a tail poking out his human body.
"Yes, that's true, Yunho." The alpha nodded, catching the other's confused look. "You and Jongho have been looking pretty exhausted recently; you two need a break every now and then," he started. "I haven't done much to help in awhile, so I decided I could take over for the night." The brunette concluded.
"Hongjoong, that's not true. You're always helping us, whether it be physically or not." The taller, blonde-haired boy pouted a bit, making Hongjoong's heart swell. "But we honestly do need that rest, so thank you, Joong. We haven't caught any intruders in awhile, but still stay safe, okay? Can't risk our pack alpha getting hurt." Hongjoong sucked his teeth, shaking his head and exchanging a soft smile at the other alpha's concern. Yunho was so caring sometimes that it hurt.
Hongjoong recalls the moment—years ago, when he'd first invited Yunho into his pack—that the alpha practically sobbed his eyes out after Hongjoong had gotten badly injured while hunting. (In Yunho's defense, it was a pretty gnarly injury.)
The pack alpha had insisted on going out hunting alone, only for it to end in a fairly dangerous situation. Coincidentally, he had crossed paths with some feral, lone wolf that was trying to hunt the same squirrel as him. Hongjoong ended up getting attacked by the wolf first, fighting back to his best ability, and even ripping off a piece of its left ear and leaving a deep scratch on its face. Obviously, that didn't do much to scare it away.
Hongjoong ended up left alone, who-knows-how-long away from his pack, yowling and crying out in pain with his nastily-twisted right paw and a deep, still-bleeding gash on his back. For some reason, after doing so much damage, that lone wolf had just left like nothing happened at all.
"Joong? You alright?" Hongjoong hadn't even noticed he was staring past Yunho's frame until his name was called, snapping the shorter out of his trance.
The scent of burnt pines filling his senses. It was obvious how worried the blonde hybrid was by the burning smell—his usual scent being pines with a hint of vanilla that brought comfort to those around him.
"Yeah, sorry," the flick of Hongjoong's ear and uneasy swish of his tail made Yunho think otherwise, knowing the pack leader was obviously dwelling on the past. "I've just got something on my mind, nothing too important."
But it was. Not only was Hongjoong drawn to this seemingly-dangerous wolf he spotted three days back, but he's trying to patrol by himself in hopes of seeing him again. Was it truly worth putting his pack in danger?
No, that wolf, he isn't harmful—he couldn't be! If he were, Hongjoong would be severely hurt, just like last time.
But that aura he has on him—something about that lone alpha isn't right.
He's different.
He's different, and Hongjoong wants to be the one to find out what exactly it is about that alpha that makes him so intrigued.
"Please, stay safe out there. Patrolling on a preoccupied mind won't do you any good," Yunho gave Hongjoong a sympathetic look, regardless of the sudden determined look on the other's face. "You still have time if you want to change your mind. You don't always need to try and look strong; we already know you are."
The shorter man's face fell for a moment, before turning into a tight smile. He'll always be grateful for having Yunho by his side to help him.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'm set on this. Get some rest, Yunho. Hell knows you need it."
°○•°
It wasn't until his third trip around the pack's border that he caught onto the scent of burnt cedar in the distance. The scent so scarce the average wolf would miss it. But not Hongjoong; never Hongjoong.
He was known for observing and catching onto things way faster than others—often impressing even himself most of the time. There was a reason he adapted to be so cautious, anyways.
In the direction of the burnt cedar scent were an array of trees hiding a small cave. Small enough for a person—or wolf—to survive in.
The alpha shifted into his wolf form, snout lifted into the air as he inhaled once again, nose now filled with the scent of—
Deer.
With his jaw slacked open, Hongjoong crouched, attempting to level himself with the thick snow as he tread carefully. Ears flicking to focus on any sound from the deer.
The moment Hongjoong spots the deer, he stops in his tracks, hesitating. He didn't want to scare off such big prey. Food was scarce enough as it is; this would help his pack greatly if he were to bring it back home. It was already evident that some of his alphas had begun going hungry in order to keep the omegas fed, and while Hongjoong was grateful for his alpha's consideration, he could not bare to see any of his pack mates starving for much longer.
All he needed to do was sneak up on this deer, and he'd be able to treat everyone. Just be quiet. Don't distract it.
It's right there. He licked his teeth, grazing over the sharp canines.
Almost—one more second.
Now!
Before Hongjoong could even pounce, he caught a glimpse of white fur, leaving the alpha with his hackles raised as he stands there and watches the silver-white wolf efficiently kill off the deer.
That's not fair—when did he even get here? How didn't he realize the scent growing closer?
Oh, how Hongjoong absolutely loathed the way his wolf got distracted by the thought of food.
When the alpha(?) locked eyes with Hongjoong, he growled, baring his stained-red teeth and guarding the food as if it were a lifeline. And maybe it was—he looked so frail, after all.
"Are you serious?" The brown fur of his wolf puffed out in frustration, tail falling closely in between his hind legs. "I smelled it first, who are you to steal my prey?" Hongjoong barked out, studying the silver-white wolf's appearance. He looks impossibly thin. He can't afford to feel pity for some loner when his pack is suffering. They need it more than him.
But... do they really? None of his pack mates are this thin, although enduring the same struggles.
Maybe it wouldn't hurt too much to just let this loner keep the prey.
"How could a pack leader be so childish?" The (extremely weird) alpha sneered, still guarding the body of the deer. "I killed it first, therefore it is mine to eat." The loner huffed, not backing down. He was right, though. Hongjoong had no reason to claim this to be his soon-to-be meal when he wasn't even the one that had caught it in the first place.
"Fine, it's yours." Hongjoong retracted, grumbling in annoyance to the lost chance of bringing back food to his pack.
"I know." The silver-white wolf concluded, biting down on the deer's bleeding-out neck and dragging it further away from Hongjoong. A sound of chewing and crunching filled the atmosphere, allowing the brown wolf to further grieve the meal he never got.
"So," Hongjoong started, "Is this going to become a trend now?" The other ignored him, pulling the meat apart from the deer's body with his teeth. His eyes are dilated: a sign of extreme focus—most likely wary of Hongjoong possibly trying to steal the food from him.
"Alright. Great conversation." An exaggerated sigh leaves Hongjoong before he suddenly shifts into his hybrid form—which he shouldn't have done if he wanted to keep himself a bit more warm.
Fuck, it's freezing. Why did he do that?
But the action seems to stun the still-feasting wolf, pausing in shock and confusion.
Maybe he wants to earn this loner's trust.
"Look, I know prey is pretty hard to find right now," Hongjoong agreed to no one particularly, "so I won't hate you too much for grabbing some every now and then."
Maybe that's okay.
"But my pack won't let you off the hook; not like I would at least." The brunette's ears flicked, a bothered look appearing on his face while he stared down at the snow.
"They aren't used to the abnormal. I know you aren't what I think you are, and they'll know it too."
The tension was palpable, an exchange of acknowledgement sent through one another without any further explanation. Hongjoong finally met the other's eyes, noting how the silver-white wolf's body language had changed—standing uncomfortably stiff with his tail curled tightly into himself, ears flattened against his skull. If Hongjoong could joke right now, he'd say that alpha looked more like a deer than the one currently beside him.
"What I am doesn't concern you, nor your pack," the bark echoed throughout the woods. "Don't try to act like you're any type of savior, either. I can live with or without any "help" from you." Hongjoong only sighed out in response, tail whipping unsteadily.
What was he expecting by attempting some small-talk in the first place? Hongjoong slowly stood up, averting his gaze from the silver-white wolf and subtly hugging himself, his skin a bright pink due to the cold of the winter. He should most definitely shift back into his wolf form, but there was something deep inside him telling him not to do so.
"You're right," Hongjoong started, "you're strong enough to live on your own; that's enough evidence in itself, isn't it?"
There was no point in holding any curiosity for a person he will never know about. Some mysteries—unfortunately—have to stay as such.
Although, they don't always have to go unseen.
°○•°
If Hongjoong could guess, he would estimate that it was around six in the morning, possibly going onto the next hour. Usually, his night patrol were told to be on the look-out from ten at night to six in the morning, and maybe a bit earlier if they were confident everything outside looked fine. He continued to walk, huddled in on himself to keep as warm as possible. His pack mates are definitely going to scold him for being out way past (his own) curfew; they were always up early when Hongjoong was out on patrol for the night.
Well, not always—his pack used to always have faith in him going out alone—everything happened to change ever since the incident that happened with him. He doesn't like to think about it too much. He should appreciate how much his pack cares for him—if it weren't for them, he wouldn't be standing here right now.
As Hongjoong approached the clearing, a deep huffing sound was heard from the right of him. Jongho's den. He must be up already, just as Hongjoong had guessed. The following loud yawn only confirmed it further.
"Morning, Jongho." The corner of Hongjoong's mouth twitched upwards, locking eyes with the brown bear who seemed like he had been sleeping for an eternity up until now.
"Good morning, hyung," the brown bear yawned once again before shifting into his hybrid form, round, brown ears emerging from the top of his short, blackish-brown hair with a short, stubby tail. "Why were you out for so long? Did you find something?" the younger observed his pack leader thoroughly, finding nothing visible, but catching a waft of an interesting scent.
"Were you hunting? I smell deer, but—" Jongho paused, looking around. "You didn't come back with any, and there's another strange scent; I almost missed it." The bear hybrid frowned, trying to piece together the story that Hongjoong had yet to tell.
"It's nothing. I spotted a deer while patrolling, but accidentally scared it away." Hongjoong grit his teeth in annoyance. Honestly, he's still upset he couldn't bring it home for his pack. "I'm not sure about the other scent, though. I didn't see anything when I was out there," he swallowed. "It was completely clear besides that damn deer I failed to catch." A grimace now replaced the smile on his face.
"You really didn't see anything else?" Jongho hesitated, not wanting to second-guess the pack alpha. "Well, tomorrow Yunho and I will go patrol for the night; maybe we'll find out where that scent is coming from."
"Yeah. Hopefully it's not anything harmful." The wolf hybrid averted his gaze. Hopefully, that damned white wolf won't show his face tomorrow night, then. "Is anyone else up right now besides you?" Jongho shrugged in response, eyes scanning around the territory, then letting in a big inhale.
"Guess not, it seems like everyone's still sleeping," the bear hybrid concluded, "maybe you should head off to bed, hyung. You've had a long night." Hongjoong let out an exhausted sigh at the words. Jongho was right, to be completely honest.
"You're right, I'll go rest for a bit. Since you're the only one up right now, could you just keep an eye out until the others wake?" Jongho was quick to nod, waving the pack alpha off in an attempt to let him go to his den and sleep.
"Don't worry, I'll be on the look-out."
But as Jongho watched Hongjoong take his stroll to his den, a hand was placed lightly on the younger's shoulder, making him jump and avert his eyes to whoever touched him. What met him first was a man with platinum blonde hair and big, fluffy ears at the top of his head, and of course, the pinkish reddish birthmark on the left side of his right eye. The scent of bread only further confirmed it if the visuals weren't enough to go by.
"Yeosang! What's up?" He stared at the beta questionably, watching as his eyes stood on the shadowed inside of Hongjoong's den. A sad-sounding grumble left Yeosang's mouth before speaking up:
"He was out for night patrol?" The elder's fluffy tail swayed uneasily. "He never really does that, even though he's a night-owl." Jongho nodded in agreement, now sharing the uneasy feeling. Yeosang immediately caught a whiff of stale mint chocolate, now wanting to back-track on his words. He doesn't like worrying the omegas.
"Hey, Jongho." The beta hummed. "Don't worry too much, okay? Nothing seems to be entirely off right now. He came back untouched, too." He tried to get Jongho to focus more on his bread scent, but as a beta, he is physically unable to control or release it as any other sub-gender would.
He could only hope Jongho would be able to feel the comfort that he's trying to exchange to the younger.
"Yeah, I guess I worry too much sometimes." Yeosang's heart clenched at the face Jongho made at him. Sometimes that omega can look so damn pitiful, it hurts.
"It's not a bad thing to worry." The beta tried his best to sort-out his words. "That just shows how much you care for Hongjoong and everyone else in our pack."
The omega's stubby tail twitched, allowing an amused huff from Yeosang.
"You guys are having small-talk without me?"
The scent of lavender filled the area.
"San!" Yeosang grinned while Jongho mumbled a greeting to the fellow omega. "Good morning, did you sleep well?" San nodded enthusiastically, tail wagging back-and-forth. His bright mood reflected on the two, all hybrids now sharing a smile with one-another.
"Arguably one of the best naps I've ever taken, honestly." The omega with two-toned hair hummed, brushing his fingers through the left side of his hair, where a patch of blonde lay on the left-half of his bangs. "What about you guys? Slept well, too?"
"Definitely not as much as you did," Jongho smirked. "You're practically jumping off the walls; I wish I felt that energized right now." Yeosang nodded, chuckling softly.
"So, how about we go eat something? It's gotta be breakfast time around now, no?"
°○•°
San whined annoyingly in Jongho and Yeosang's ears as they walked for what seemed to be endlessly. They left the pack's border, the trio on a hunt for some food.
Coincidentally enough for them, there was no more fresh-kill left to feast on—a common occurrence in the winter that is forgotten about more often than not.
"I mean, come on—did it really have to be us?" San pouted, Jongho's round ears flicking in slight annoyance.
"Anyone that woke up before us would've had to do the same exact thing, San." The younger replied, rolling his eyes in amusement at the obnoxious complaining. "You had so much energy before, use it to catch some prey for us." Jongho nodded his head to point forward to San.
"Fine, if you say so."
San then shifted, a light-brown husky with a blonde-colored belly standing beside the two, replacing the hybrid. A bark left San's mouth, softly nipping Jongho's finger as he staggered away to avoid any attacks from the bear hybrid.
"Guess we should get on it, too." Yeosang giggled before shifting into his wolf—a snow-white albino.
"I might not be the best for hunting," Jongho tried to joke. "Don't you think a brown bear hunting in the winter is a bit laughable?" the husky and wolf only huffed in response, waiting on the younger.
"Fine."
San's ears flicked as he watched Jongho shift, now a brown bear taking the younger's form.
"Yeah, he's like two times our size—good luck, Jongho." The brown bear only grumbled in response, raising his paw to initiate that they should continue moving.
It was only until San had (by extreme luck) caught one deer and three rabbits, and Yeosang caught one rabbit, that the group started getting a weird feeling about their location.
They weren't too far away from the pack's territory—approximately a four minute walk away—but something felt unsettling.
"Do you guys smell that?" San sniffed once again, snout in the air. "It smells faint—like someone, or something was here not too long ago." The albino and brown bear begin raising their snout, also catching a hint of the smell.
"It's… strange. It's almost like—"
"This is the same thing I smelled off Hongjoong when he came back." Jongho rasped, round ears moving sideways—a sign of nervousness. What if their pack leader was hiding something from them? Could Hongjoong really do that to them?
"What are you talking about?" The albino and husky both asked at once, the smell of stale mint chocolate filling their senses and only further spreading their anxiety.
"I woke up almost just as Hongjoong arrived after he took the night patrol," his ears now flattened against his head "and when i greeted him, he looked really exhausted and like something had been troubling him. But he carried the smell of deer—that he in fact did not come back with—and that scent on him." There was a shared silence for a few seconds.
"When I called out the scent that was on him, he brushed it off. Like he wasn't entirely sure what it could be." San's tail lay still between his hind legs, ears twitching with uneasiness.
"But, he must've been telling the truth, right?" Yeosang murmured, paws fidgeting with the snow below him as the lavender scent next to him soured more and more. "Maybe there's just something living around here, but if it hasn't attacked us or Hongjoong yet, it must be okay."
"I think we should go home," San stared at the two hesitantly. "It's just—something about this scent is throwing me off."
"You're right, you and Jongho are especially feeling it, aren't you?" Yeosang sympathized with the omegas. "Let's go home and tell Hongjoong; I'm sure he'll send the alphas out to look around for any danger."
The bear and husky nodded, their scents slowly returning to normal.
°○•°
"No." Hongjoong announced, expression unreadable.
"What?"
"I said no." The alpha repeated to the trio. "Whatever it is hasn't bothered us; I don't see any reason to send out the alphas when we aren't directly being threatened."
"Hongjoong, I don't mean to disrespect your word at all, but the scent that thing held—it's weird. Something's not right." Yeosang stepped in, trying to get Hongjoong to see things from their perspective. "Even if it hasn't attacked us yet, it could in the near future." San nodded hesitantly, head hung low.
The alpha sighed, staring at the three hybrids and feeling the anxiety radiating off of them. He knows he should listen to them, but that silver-white wolf truly had the power to hurt them, yet he didn't.
Not yet, he notes.
"I'll send out patrol before dinner, like i usually do. That's about it."
Before Yeosang can thank Hongjoong for being at least a bit considerate, Jongho scoffs at the pack leader's words.
"How can you dismiss our worries like that?" Jongho's ears flattened. "We," he pointed to the other two and himself, "were worried. Maybe even scared after experiencing something so strange." The younger had a fowl expression on his face.
"You could at least try to calm us down if you're so sure that we'll all be okay."
The air filled with silence for a beat. Then two.
"Jongho, you shouldn't talk to Hongjoong like that. I get you're upset with the situation, but—" San mumbled, before getting interrupted.
"No, it's okay. I was being dismissive." Hongjoong's ears flattened, feeling beyond guilty now. "I'm sorry, this situation is new to all of us—I'm just as worried as you three are." Yeosang's head tilted in question. "I just don't think we should put ourselves in danger so early-on. Maybe whatever it is, isn't a threat," Hongjoong gulped. "And what if I were to put this whole pack in danger just because I'm sending out the alphas to go check it out? There's a possibility that it won't attack us unless we do first—I'm hoping that's it."
"That makes sense," Jongho hung his head low. "I'm sorry for being so upset with you, hyung." Hongjoong's eyebrows nit together before stepping closer and rubbing the youngest hybrid's back in an attempt to comfort him.
"Don't get upset with yourself, now." The alpha hummed, words light-hearted. "You were rightfully mad at me, I'll never be upset with my pack mates knocking some sense into me. But I'm still staying with my word, and I hope you get where I'm coming from now."
"And even if whatever you guys are talking about does attack us, don't think I'll just let it go by with no consequences." A new voice chimed in.
"Oh, It's Wooyoung!" San crashed into the alpha with a hug, tail wagging so hard it could cut down a tree in three swings.
"You missed me that bad, huh?" The fox hybrid teased, smirking at San's actions and hugging the omega back. "So, what's all this talk for?" He looked up at Hongjoong, who looked like he was going to die if he had to repeat himself.
"I'll have a meeting with the alphas in a bit, alright?"
"Whatever that means…" Yeosang and Jongho chuckled at Wooyoung's response.
Maybe Hongjoong was right. Surely, everything would be okay. Their pack leader always knew the right thing to do.
