   It didn't matter what Pomni thought. He was a terrible person. There might have been a time when he could've been justified in expecting people to respect him, but it ended that day, and he kept digging the hole deeper. Ribbit made that mistake, thinking he wasn't forever tainted, that his existence wasn't a cosmic punishment for who he was, and he killed them for it.

   He couldn't ask for that kind of forgiveness. He could not accept it even if it was given.
