Chapter Text
Derapchu was never the type to enjoy such things like sweets, until one of his friends dragged him to a nearby bakery downtown.
Avery has been begging Derapchu to go to a bakery downtown with her, apparently it was a family-run business. Avery found out about it while taking a walk outside campus.
"C'mon Derapchu! Please, just this once!"
Avery whined, already dragging him to the bakery. "Dude, I don't even like sweet stuff!" Derapchu complained, trying to pull his hand away.
They eventually reached the bakery. Avery was obviously excited, already looking at what to buy while Derapchu stood next to her like a lost child. The vibe of the bakery was cozy, it smelt like sweet apple pie and whatever kinds of bread there are. It also felt empty, which is surprising since Derapchu thought there would be at least 10 people inside.
"Hey Derap, which one should I choose?"
"I don't know?? Don't ask me, bro."
"Ugh, you're no help Derap!" Avery groaned, annoyed by the guy.
After a long time of deciding, Avery finally decided to get both of them because she had forgotten that was an option. They wandered around for a bit, looking at more delicious pastries before checking out. The one working behind the counter was a brunette guy with purple eyes. Not everyone noticed that at first glance, but Derapchu did. In his defense, it looked "kinda cool".
"Is that all, ma'am?"
"Yeah… Wait, Wifies?" Avery looked up, her face lighting up as she realized who it was. Avery and Wifies talked for a while as Derapchu waited next to his friend awkwardly, not wanting to interrupt their conversation.
"By the way, who's that?" Wifies asked, eyeing Derapchu up and down.
"Oh! This is my friend, Derapchu!" Avery introduced him. "C'mon, say hi Derap!" She whispered.
"Oh, hey dude. Just call me Derap." he stammered out, feeling slightly confused but it's whatever.
"Oh, Parrot told me about you before. I'm Wifies, nice to meet you."
Parrot told him about Derapchu? Why? He has never really asked about Wifies, all he knows about the guy is that he's supposedly Parrot's best friend since forever.
"Well, nice seeing you guys. I have to get back to work before Wemmbu starts embarrassing me." He joked, giving Avery the change before going back to work.
They said their goodbyes and left the bakery. While walking home, Derapchu still couldn't understand why Parrot would talk about him.
"Yo, Avery."
"Yea?"
"When did you meet that guy?"
"Oh, it's kinda a funny story." Avery starts talking about how she met Wifies and Derapchu actually listens. He doesn't know why he's interested in this 'Wifies' guy. He doesn't even like him!
Derapchu and Avery eventually waved each other goodbye as they went their separate ways. Derapchu goes back to his dorm and immediately lies on his bed.
He checks his phone to see 50 missed calls from Parrot. Feeling annoyed, he decides to call him back to yell at him. After he finally calmed down, they both stayed and talk about their day.
"Yo, Parrot?"
"What dude?"
"Your friend Wifies works in a bakery?"
"Yeah, he works with his siblings too I think. Why did you ask?"
"Oh, uhm. Avery and I went there and we met him."
Siblings? He didn't know Wifies has siblings. Makes sense, he never actually bothered to ask. They only talk about Parrot, though it's always just them arguing over it.
"You know who his siblings are?" Derapchu asked again, his curiosity taking over.
"Of course I do, Wemmbu and Squiddo. I don't know who's older than the other but Wifies is the youngest for sure."
As much as he'd hate to admit it, Parrot is actually helping. Maybe because he's bored or because he wants something in return. Either way, he's still helpful for information.
"Dude, I'm gonna go sleep bro. I'm like actually exhausted as hell." The guy on the other line of the phone complained.
"Damn, okay. Goodnight X2."
"Goodnight." Parrot hangs up. Leaving Derapchu alone, staring at his ceiling.
...
Whatever, he'll just get ready for bed or start streaming.
