Summary
Megatron doesn't know if what his systems perceive is real or an illusion created by his own processor, searching for a reason to not abandon his decision. He has left his faction, becoming a traitor to his own people in search of redemption, and perhaps, also to pursue that unspoken love he thought was extinct. The tension on the Ark only increases, and his relationship with the new Prime brings back tormenting memories. Despite trying to escape them, he ends up finding refuge in the owner of those memories: Optimus Prime.
Optimus, as imposing and helpful as he was sullen. The typical Alpha, currently feigning a nonchalance completely unlike him, but who somehow ended up acting in a strangely comforting and familiar way. No matter how many times he tried to run from him, something inside him seemed to want to take hold, to live in his system like a parasite, slowly consuming him to the core.
Megatron persists, picking at that unhealed wound, injecting himself and getting drunk on something he doesn't believe is appropriate, without realizing at what point he goes from being the hunter to the prey.
"And damn it, if you didn't love me the same way... why were you acting like that?"
