Chapter Text
Twilight was a spy. More then that, Twilight was WISE’s best of the best, a master of disguises they said. Handler had personally watched over most of the spy’s training for years since Twilight was a young teen stealing an older dead man’s identity to enter the military.
But even then, not even the Fullmetal Lady always fully understood the spy’s theatrics.
Not that Twilight was especially known to clown around, quite the opposite. Twilight’s reputation was spotless, being considered the best spy of all of Westalis if not the world.
When Twilight put on a costume, a persona, there was no recognizing the spy. No matter the physical build, the age, the sex or gender or even voice, Twilight could imitate anyone with the slightest of information. And to perfection more times than not.
Maybe in the end these so called “theatrics” came with the talent.
Handler waited at her desk, reading of the most recent political news. Nothing she didn’t know already from her informants. Twilight had been in a top priority infiltration mission for the past few days. The spy was supposed to come back today and come by the base of operations at the first occasion and give the mission report.
The soft tapping sound of footsteps interrupted Handler’s reading. She looked over her journal, and at Twilight. The spy was dressed in the usual full green suit, red tie, white button up and black dress shoes. But it seemed the spy still hadn’t fully taken off the disguise. The long blond hair stuck out in the usually composed and perfectly dressed spy. Not that the hair was messy, it was actually tied up in a perfectly braided bun.
It’s been happening more and more recently. As if the more Twilight spent time as Loid Forger, the more Twilight spent side missions with long wigs and a perfect eyeliner even the Handler couldn’t manage. Not that she was the type to spend hours on makeup everyday anyway.
“Handler. The mission was done without problem, and the target’s stolen information from the west was taken back and already sits in the hands of our agents. Im ready to finish this report and come back to Operation Strix.” The Handler stared at Twilight a moment before answering.
“Understood. Don’t forget to take off the makeup and wig. I don’t think your neighbours would take well to seeing Loid Forger with long hair and eyeliner.” Twilight flinched. It’s not something Handler saw them do often.
“Right. Yes obviously. Pardon Handler.” Twilight immediately replied. She sighed and smiled softly.
“Don’t you worry Twilight. As long as you don’t mix up your missions and keep doing the good work, why would I or anyone care about how you do your missions? Now shoo. You should go see your wife and daughter.” Twilight nodded and walked away.
“Twilight’s a great spy. Just hope he stops forgetting to take off his disguises. Would be a pretty dumb way to get caught.” The WISE agent beside Sylvia the Handler chuckled, his voice playful but his words serious.
“Don’t you worry about her. She’s not Westalis’ best spy for no reason.” The handler argued, walking away as well. The agent didn’t move, just looked at the Handler with a curious expression.
“Her?”
