Laetus walked through the castle.
He had no idea what he was doing. All he had was a stake and a dream.
As he walked through the halls all he could hear was his own footsteps.
Getting over to the crypt stairs felt like a dangerous eternity, yet it took a few calm, quiet minutes.
Laetus gulped as he stared down into the dark abyss below.
He took out a torch and began carefully descending the stairs.
Why did he think going into the castle to kill a vampire without telling anyone was a good idea!?
There's like a thousand different things he could've chosen! Like making stakes, that's useful!
Laetus shook his head, it's fine, he's too far in to back out now.
He walked through the hall, keeping his footsteps as quiet as possible.
He shot his head towards a noise on the side.
..nothing, there's nothing.
Laetus was silent for a second, staring at the empty space, before begging to walk faster.
He listened in to any noise that was around.
The wind flowing through the crypt, the sounds of animals on the surface, his footsteps, his breathing, his heart beat that always beats faster than it should, the second pair of footsteps that's barely hearable-
He paused, stopping his walk. Second pair of footsteps?
Laetus tensed up as he slowly looked around the crypt, but could still find nothing.
Vampires can be invisible, right?
He took a shaky breath in, tightening the hold on his stake, and mumbled the Holy Word under his breath.
As the power shot out, Scott became visible, right by Laetus.
Laetus yelped and stumbled away "S- Scott!"
"Hello Laetus~" Scott had his usual smile on, his eyes glowing, as always "what do you happen to be doing here?"
Laetus's breathing was fast, the venom in his blood was stinging and clawing at his brain. Kill. Kill.
Laetus ran at Scott, rising up his stake, but as he brought it down the Holy Word fizzled out and Scott moved out the way swiftly, making Laetus stumble.
Scott held Laetus by the back of his vest before he could hit the floor "what a warm welcome~"
"Let me- go-!" Laetus tried to get Scott's hand off his vest. Then suddenly Scott let go and he hit the floor "ow-.."
"I was being nice" Scott walked by Laetus, his footsteps still barely hearable "but it seems my charity is not appreciated"
Laetus let out a sound that bordered on a growl "I don't need your help" he spat out, sitting up, onto his knees.
Scott cooed "someone is spicy~"
Laetus blinked I'm confusion "spicy?"
Scott chuckled, the sound heavenly "like an adorable cat~"
Laetus fiddled with his fingers. He shouldn't like that.
Scott walked over to him, moving his chin with his finger so Laetus was looking up at him.
Laetus's brain panicked internally, he didn't know whether to scream or lean in, the venom stung at his emotions.
He breathed faster, his face red.
"You're so adorable~" Scott cooed "I wonder.."
Laetus just blinked up at him in confusion.
"..if you would be as adorable when tiny"
Laetus stared at Scott confused, and before he knew it, everything around him grew, including Scott.
He scrambled backwards in shock, frantically looking around.
"Wh- What- What's happening!?" He yelled out, panicked, and winced as his venom stung and clawed.
Then suddenly Scott scooped him up with his hands, rising him up from the floor making him yell out in surprise.
"Look at you~!" Scott said cheerily "so cute and tiny~"
Laetus scrambled back as much as he could, as far away from Scott as he could "wha- what did you do!?"
"I didn't do anything~" Scott chuckled and began walking, unnaturally smooth.
Laetus looked around frantically again "where are you taking me!?"
Scott looked down at Laetus, making him stiffen up "that's for you to find out~"
Suddenly Scott's hands closed in around Laetus, keeping him stuck in Scott's hold.
"Wait wait wait what are you doing!?" Laetus tried standing up but stumbled on the uneven and shaking ground "where on earth are you taking me!?"
There was no answer from Scott.
"Answer me vampire!" Laetus yelled out, as loud as he could.
Still no answer.
Fear creeped at him, he didn't know what Scott was gonna do, probably eat him or torture him.
His breathing picked up and he curled up, his heart beating faster than usual.
After a few minutes, which felt like ages, Scott's hands finally opened, revealing that they're now in a room.
It had a king-size bed, fancy chests, desk and cabinets, some lit lanterns scattered throughout the room.
Laetus sat up, looking around, adoring the details on the furniture, before shaking his head and looking up at Scott "What- what do you want, Scott."
Scott chuckled before knelling down by a cage that was on the floor, that was earlier out of Laetus's eyesight, and opening it.
Laetus's eyes widened "wait wait wait wait-! Don't- don't put me in there-!"
Scott, not listening to a word Laetus said, put him inside the cage and locked it.
Laetus quickly stood up and ran over to the bars, holding onto them, they were grid bars, so he couldn't fit in between them "Let me out! Please!"
Scott was just smiling with his usual smile, very delighted "I think you could use some time in a cage" he leaned down "like a little pet~"
"Let me out!" Laetus yelled out, he might be somehow fine with being a pet but he did not like cages, he's had enough encounters with those.
"No, you'll spend some sweet time in this cage here and maybe after, let's say, 4 days, I'll visit you~" Scott said with his sweet honeyed voice then stood up.
"Wait but- I'll die of thir-!"
Before Laetus could finish his sentence Scott turned around and left, his stupid cape fancily flowing behind him.
He could hear the door lock.
Laetus just stared at the door to the room, before collapsing to the floor and pulling his knees up to his chest.
He began sobbing.
