    Shadow Milk, the Beast of Deceit, was the Truth. Was the ugly reflection in a mirror Pure Vanilla had dreaded to face. One that he’d desperately tried to cover up with niceties and mannerisms, in hopes that the image he’d chosen would replace what actually lay underneath. The irony of it all was palpable. A preacher of Truth practicing a scripture of Deceit, and an executioner of Deceit wielding an axe of Truth.

    Was that crooked reflection the fate that was waiting for him at the end of his journey? A prophecy of what he would become?

    A malevolent beast. A cruel tormentor. An underling whose wickedness matched that of his oppressor, who only lived to do his bidding. To see his will done. To witness. To obey. To lie. To harm. To betray. To regret. To remember.
