Notes:

Okay, so one of my FAVORITE fanart artists made such an adorable fanart of Eddie reading to five year old Chris and five year old Theo in bed, drawing a regular one and a werecat/dog version so I HAD to write a fic about it.

I’ve always wanted to write a pregEddie fic and a werecat/dog fic, so I did both in one.

Fox, I hope you like it. ❤️

Eddie didn’t think that this is where he’d be at 25, vomiting his guts out in his toilet at seven am.

He’s supposed to be helping his husband make breakfast for their two five-year-old sons, Chris and Theo, to get them ready for school.

Eddie can’t believe his babies are going to kindergarten now.

He remembered the day that they were born; it was such long, agonizing hours of labor birthing twin boy pups, but they are the lights of his life.

He met Buck nearly six years ago, shortly after he moved to Los Angeles to get away from his overbearing parents in El Paso.

He, Pepa, and Abuela looked through ad listings and websites for any job openings so he could start making some income.

There was a secretary position at Buck’s father’s company, where Buck was hiring a secretary; Buck is the COO of the company. Bobby gave him that position when he turned 21; he’s 35 now.

Eddie lasted all of three weeks as Buck’s secretary before Buck cornered Eddie in his office and poured all of his feelings out for the black cat hybrid.

Eddie felt the exact same—still does—and threw his mouth onto Buck’s, their tails wrapping around each other as they exchanged saliva.

And as they say, the rest is history.

The two got married a year later, Buck taking Eddie’s name—Eddie still takes pride in that—to be rid of the Buckley name forever, and then Eddie quit as his husband’s secretary and became Buck’s housewife, discovering that he’s pregnant two weeks later with their twin boy pups, becoming a stay-at-home mom.

The best stay-at-home mom in Buck’s eyes.

And now Buck is worried about where his wife is because Eddie isn’t in the kitchen to help him make pancakes for their boys, who are growing cuter and cuter every day.

So he walks down the hallway where the master bedroom is to check on his wife, who he finds on the bathroom floor, hovered over the toilet, throwing up.

Baby!” Buck calls, rushing to his wife’s side, falling to his knees next to his wife, rubbing his back up and down to soothe him, Eddie’s tail weakly wrapping itself around Buck’s wrist. “I’m here, Eds. I’m not going anywhere.”

A little bit later, Eddie has finally gotten it all out and falls into Buck’s arms, exhausted.

Buck holds his wife close, kissing his floppy dark brown hair. “I’m here, kitty, I’m not going anywhere.”

Eddie purrs in his husband’s arms, practically falling asleep.

But before he falls all of the way to sleep, Buck helps him stand, then helps him brush his teeth really quickly to get the taste of bile out, and then the dog tucks the black cat back into bed.

Buck pulls the covers over his wife, kissing the small mole under Eddie’s eye, lightly massaging his scalp, waiting for the feline to fall into a deep slumber before leaving the room to check on their boys and feed them breakfast.

They’re hungry little pups, always happily eating whatever their Daddy makes them.

As Buck is cooking his wild boys' pancakes, the two stop running around chasing each other to turn to their Daddy with worried eyes.

“Where’s Mama?” Theo asks, his hazel eyes that are a perfect mix of Buck and Eddie’s eyes, pleading to know where his Mama is.

“Yeah, Daddy, where’s Mama? Is he sleeping?” Their other pup, Chris asks, his ocean eyes sparkling in the sunlight.

Buck places pancakes on a serving plate, then squats down so he’s the same height as his pups, holding one of each of their hands.

“Mama isn’t feeling too good today, so he’s resting.”

The two boys frown at the thought of their Mama not feeling good.

“Mama sick?” Theo asks, wearing the same sad pout as his twin brother.

“He just needs his rest. He’ll be okay. C’mon, babies, let’s eat, then we can go see Mama, okay?”

The two instantly agree to that, nodding vigorously, tails wagging, and their ears perked up in excitement to eat Daddy’s yummy pancakes.

Buck saves a few pancakes for Eddie for when he’s feeling up to eating, putting them in the freezer, then he joins his boys at the dining table, eating his plate of pancakes, listening to his pups chat away about many different things, bringing a fond smile to Buck’s face.

Once the food has been devoured, the two jump into their Daddy’s lap, begging him to take them to Mama.

Buck chuckles, giving in, standing with one pup in each arm. “Okay, let’s go see Mama.”

Yaaay!” The two cheer simultaneously, clapping in delight. “Mamaaaa!”

Buck kisses each of their heads as he carries them down the hallway to the master bedroom, both boys’ tails wagging excitedly.

Buck left the door cracked earlier, so all he has to do is gently kick it open, walking quietly into the room, Eddie still passed out asleep in the bed, in the same spot and position he was in before.

Buck sets the boys on the bed, the two giggling quietly as they crawl over to their Mama, one on each side of him, resting their heads on the feline’s chest, feeling his chest move with every breath.

Buck smiles at his pack, sitting at the edge of the bed, reaching out to caress Eddie’s thigh.

The brunette wakes a few seconds later, feeling his husband’s hand on his thigh and his babies snuggling against his chest.

Eddie smiles sleepily, blinking his eyes open.

“Morning, babies.”

“Mama!” The boys shout, hugging their Mama tighter.

“Daddy said you didn’t feel good,” Chris says, his tail wagging against Eddie’s knee.

“Are you okay, Mama?” Theo asks, his ears drooping.

Eddie wraps his arms around his pups, pulling them tight against him, nuzzling their heads with his nose.

“I’m okay, little ones. I was just a little sick to my stomach, but I’m feeling much better now. Did Daddy make you guys pancakes?”

The two pups nod against his neck.

Eddie then glances up at his husband to see the blonde smiling fondly at him.

Then Buck glances at the clock and checks the time.

“Okay, pups, it’s time to get ready for school; give Mama kisses.”

Theo and Chris plant kisses on Eddie’s cheeks with loud “mwah” sounds, making the feline purr under the attention of his pups.

“Have a good day at school, babies.”

“We will, Mama,” Chris chirps with a smile, Buck helping him down from the bed, he’s starting to show some slight mobility issues, the doctor was afraid that Chris would have CP where he’d have to use crutches and probably a wheelchair for his whole life, it looks like it won’t ever be that bad, but Buck and Eddie are always checking on him and his joint pain just to be sure.

“Love you, Mama,” Theo tells Eddie with a big smile, his tail flapping around as his Daddy places him on the floor, leading the boys to their bedrooms on the other side of the massive one-story home that they four of them live in—Buck’s job pays really well, so Eddie doesn’t have to work and can focus on their boys.

“Love you too, boys!” Eddie shouts to them, hearing them giggle as he settles back into bed, feeling ten times better than he felt this morning, but not ready to get up yet.

Though he will need to get up soon to test out a theory.

Buck brings the boys back into the bedroom so they can wave and blow kisses to their Mama, Buck giving Eddie a chaste kiss, promising to be back soon and to call if he needs anything, then the three head out, Eddie’s smile never leaving his face.

He loves his family.

As soon as Eddie hears Buck back the car out of the driveway, since he’s a cat hybrid, he has excellent hearing, Eddie slowly gets out of the bed, making his way to the bathroom to find the pregnancy tests he keeps around just in case.

Eddie is on birth control, but they always go bare because it’s how they like it, so Eddie won’t be that surprised if he’s pregnant; he’s just surprised it took this long, considering that Buck got him pregnant with twins for his first pregnancy.

Eddie pees on three sticks, leaves them on the counter for five minutes, then checks them, and yep, they’re all positive.

He is pregnant again.

Eddie smiles and looks at himself in the mirror, pulling his shirt up to look at his stomach, placing his free hand on it.

“Hello, mi amor, this is your Mama,” Eddie tells his baby. “Your Daddy and big brothers are going to be so happy to hear about you. I love you so much, little one.”

Eddie smiles at his reflection, thinking back to five years ago when he found out he was pregnant, standing in this same spot, with three positive tests on the counter. Last time, though, he was nervous about Buck’s reaction. But this time he knows his husband will be happy as well as their boys.

Eddie tosses two of the three tests in the trash and slides the other one in his sleep pants pocket, stepping out of the bathroom and making his way into the kitchen to eat a little something.

As Eddie looks around the fridge and freezer for something to eat, he notices a plate of pancakes sitting in the freezer that Buck definitely left for him.

I literally have the best husband ever, Eddie thinks to himself with a smile as he heats up the pancakes to eat them.

He knows he won’t be able to eat everything, so he’ll give the rest to Buck once he’s back home from dropping the boys off.

Eddie is taking slow and small bites of the second pancake when he hears a car pull into the driveway, the front door opening seconds later, Buck’s keys jingling as he steps inside the house.

“Baby, I’m home!” Buck calls.

Eddie smiles, swallowing his current bite. “Kitchen, cariño!”

Buck steps into the room just moments later, a wide smile on his face, his tail wagging when he sees Eddie sitting at the bar.

“Food going down okay?” The older man asks, striding towards Eddie.

Eddie nods. “Yup. But I will not be able to eat this last pancake, so you eat it up.”

Buck smiles and excitedly gets a plate to eat the last pancake on, kissing Eddie’s cheek as he gets settled in the stool next to Eddie’s.

The two eat side by side, smiling at each other fondly as they do so.

Then after a few minutes of chatter, Eddie decides it’s time.

“Hey, baby, I wanna show you something.”

Buck cocks a brow with a grin. “And what’s that, kitty?”

Eddie purrs slightly as he always does when Buck calls him that, then once he can properly think again, he pulls the test out of his pocket and sets it face up on the counter, then looks up to see Buck’s reaction.

Buck’s entire face lights up once he sees that the pregnancy test that Eddie laid on the bar is positive, looking at his wife’s face to make sure that this is real.

Eddie nods with a smile. “I’m pregnant, honey.”

Buck screams in delight as he pulls his wife into his arms, hugging him tight. “I love you so fucking much, Eddie.”

Eddie wraps his arms around his husband. “I love you too, Buck.”

Once they pull back from the embrace, their faces inches apart, Buck throws his mouth against Eddie’s, connecting their lips for soft kisses.

The kiss quickly gets heated, as per usual, and Buck moves his hands down to the back of Eddie’s thighs, Eddie’s tail wrapping around Buck’s bicep, the dog hybrid lifting the feline up into his arms, Eddie throwing his legs around Buck’s waist out of instinct.

Eddie giggles when his husband lifts him up, kissing all over Buck’s face, making the blonde smile.

“Shall I try and put another one in you?” Buck flirts teasingly.

Eddie pokes Buck’s chest firmly with his pointer finger. “No. You already put two in me. This time I’d like to have only one, thank you very much. As much as I love our boys, I think one baby girl would be more than enough.”

Buck chuckles, playfully nibbling at Eddie’s neck. “Then can I at least make love to my perfect, beautiful, wonderful wife?”

A sly grin spreads across the feline’s face, his tail flicking excitedly. “Well, I can’t say no to that.”

Buck beams, locking their lips as he walks them down the hallway to their bedroom.

He knows the house layout like the back of his head, so he doesn’t have to disconnect his lips from his wife’s as he carries him through their house and into their bedroom.

Later that day when it’s time for pickup, Buck stays in the driver’s seat as Eddie leans back against the car, waiting for their babies to walk out of the school building, led by one of the teachers, so they can always be sure the students go home with their parents and not some random stranger.

Eddie doesn’t have to wait too long before one of the older female teachers, who’s a beautiful Siamese hybrid, her eyes a brilliant blue, but nowhere as extraordinarily blue as Buck’s, one of each of his babies hands in hers, the three of them walking in the direction of their car.

Once the two little pups realize Eddie is waiting for them, their entire faces light up with pure happiness as they let go of the teacher’s hand and sprint towards their Mama.

“Mama!!!” They scream at the same time, their arms wide open for Eddie, who kneels and pulls them into his arms, one pup in each arm.

“Hi, babies,” Eddie greets, nuzzling his nose into their golden curls and fuzzy golden ears. “Have a good day?” He then asks them once they’re looking up at him with smiles on their adorable faces.

“Yeah, we did, Mama!” Theo cheers.

“Are you feeling better, Mama?” Chris asks Eddie, the feline moving his arm from around the pup to adjust his slightly crooked red glasses before wrapping it back around the pup again.

Eddie grins at his babies. “Oh, yeah. I’m feeling so much better. Cuddles with my precious puppies helped me so, so much.”

The two then go into a fit of giggles, their fluffy little tails wagging rapidly from their joy of helping their Mama.

“C’mon, babies, Daddy’s in the car waiting for us.”

“Yaaay, Daddy!” Theo and Chris cheer as Eddie picks them up, Buck getting out of the driver’s seat and rushing over to open the back door of the car to help Eddie.

Best. Husband. Ever.

Eddie buckles Theo into his car seat while Buck buckles Chris into his car seat, then the couple smiles at each other before closing the doors and hopping back onto the front seats, Buck driving them home, their pups yapping about their day the whole way home, Buck and Eddie cutting in at the right moments to ask them questions, to encourage them to talk more.

Eddie loves his babies so much.

All three—or four—of them.

Eddie hopes it’s three…at least for now.

He loves being pregnant, having a part of him and Buck growing safely inside of him until they’re ready to come out into the world.

Once they’re home, the boys run wildly around the house, giggling loudly as they chase each other.

Buck and Eddie watch them fondly as they step into the house and lock the door behind them.

Buck steps behind his wife, Eddie’s back to Buck’s chest, the dog hybrid wrapping his arms around the feline, kissing his cheek, making Eddie laugh.

“I’m going to go get a bit of work done.”

“Your Dad needs you for a call, doesn’t he?” Eddie asks, looking up at Buck with a smile.

Buck nods, smiling. “Yeah, baby, he does.”

Eddie then gets onto his tiptoes to peck Buck’s lips. “I’ll be with the boys; join us when work is done, yeah?”

Buck leans down to kiss Eddie deeply for a few seconds. “Definitely. Love you, kitty."

Eddie blushes. “Love you too, honey.”

Buck then smiles at their wild pups as he walks into his office to do what he needs to do.

Eddie watches as his sexy, hot-as-hell husband walks away, then turns to look at their pups running around, scooping them up and carrying them outside so they can get all of their crazy energy out.

His heart swells with the never-ending love he has for his babies.

He can’t wait for the little one—or ones—in his stomach to be a part of this too.

🐈‍⬛🐕🐈‍⬛🐕

That night, after dinner and bath time, Eddie is resting in his bed, his legs under the covers, his back against the headboard as he texts with Pepa and Abuela about tomorrow—they’re coming over tomorrow for lunch, and they just wanted to know what all to bring with them.

Eddie is sending them his and his pack’s love when he hears the familiar sets of footsteps of his pups making their way to him.

“Mama!!” They call as they walk into the room, Eddie plugging his phone into the charger as he sets his phone down onto his nightstand, turning to look at his pups with a big smile.

They’re wearing their PJs; Buck must’ve just put them on the pups, Theo wearing his green bear pajamas while Chris is wearing his navy blue dinosaur pajamas.

“Hi, babies!” Eddie greets them with a big grin.

Theo and Chris giggle, racing to climb onto the bed and crawl their way towards Eddie, Theo holding a book in his hands, barely able to hold onto it because it’s so big in his tiny little hands.

“You guys got a book for me?” Eddie asks them, helping Chris get under the covers and settle on the same pillow as Eddie, sliding down in the bed so he’s closer, Theo snuggling against his left side, handing him Clifford the Big Red Dog

Eddie gasps with a smile. “Are we reading Clifford again tonight?”

The pups nod vigorously.

“You’re better at the voices, Mama,” Theo says firmly, half resting under the covers, leaning on Eddie.

“Daddy isn’t as good as you,” Chris adds.

Eddie smiles, chest swelling with pride as he accepts the book that Theo hands to him.

“Get comfy, you two, it’s Clifford time!”

“Yaay!” They cheer, their complete focus on the book and what their Mama says as Eddie reads every word out loud, doing the silly voices as he always does.

Theo gently jabs his right hand to Eddie’s left breast when something interesting happens; even though he already knows it’s going to happen, it still shocks him anyway, pointing his right pointer finger to the book to point out the parts that surprise him.

Chris places his little left hand on Eddie’s right arm as the feline reads the book, leaning against Eddie’s right shoulder.

As Eddie finishes reading the last page of the book, the pup's eyes start to get heavy as they settle against Eddie’s chest, fighting to keep their eyes open, and Theo finally settles fully under the covers.

Little do they know that their arms that are draped across Eddie’s stomach are right over their sibling—or siblings—who are resting safely right there in Eddie’s belly until they’re ready to be out in the world in a little less than nine months.

When Eddie reads the final page and closes the book, he sees his husband leaning against the doorway, a fond smile on his face, arms crossed over his chest.

Eddie lays the book flat on his chest, looking at his babies, then back to his husband, smiling at him adoringly.

All feels right in the world when those ocean eyes are cast upon him and their little ones.
