Summary
Scott Hunter never comes out on the ice by kissing Kip. He doesn't even make it to game six.
Instead, he disappears without telling anyone.
Around the same time, a serial killer emerges, engaging in a deadly killing spree.
All victims have something in common: they have been noted on the record saying something homophobic. Four of them seem to have been the perpetrators of the same violent assault outside of a bar.
The facts: Kip isn't breathing. Scott Hunter loses himself. The NHL holds its breath. Between all this, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander drift apart.
Kip won't wake up. He remains in a coma after nearly being beaten to death several nights before game six of a New York Admirals playoff run. Scott Hunter becomes half a shell of himself. No one can find him. Life moves on like it has to, but no one is sure what is going to happen next.
Because Scott Hunter never comes out, Ilya Rozanov never formally accepts the invitation to the cottage. Instead, he is on route to Russia while Shane Hollander retreats to his cabin for the summer alone.
Meanwhile, Scott Hunter is on his killing spree and he is hellbent on one thing—find Ilya Rozanov and kill him.
